Villa holiday rentals in Barlavento Algarvio

A really lovely villa, photos don’t really do it justice. It’s very spacious and there was plenty of room for our group, 6 adults and 3 young children. The pool and play area were very popular. Lisa and David were great hosts. They provided everything we needed and more and were very good with communication and info. Some lovely personal touches for our stay left in the villa too which were much appreciated. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this villa and hope to return again sometime.

We had a really nice time at this Airbnb. The place was just as advertised—clean, comfortable, and in a great location. The beach was stunning and only a short walk away, which was perfect. The heated pool was a nice bonus, especially with a 6-year-old, and the whole property was well-kept. The area was quiet and peaceful, just what we were looking for. The host was responsive and helpful whenever we had questions. Everything went smoothly, and we’d happily stay here again. A solid choice for a relaxing getaway! A few tips, the best food in Lagos is Tasca do Kiko, also there is a cafe called Everyday People cafe, perfect for breakfast.

We spent a total of two weeks in the accommodation with adults plus small children. The house and the surroundings left nothing to be desired. The kitchen equipment and the furnishings of the premises were great, each room has its own bathroom, everything was very clean and well maintained. We felt immediately comfortable and were able to relax very well. The area and the (natural) pool invited you to linger, but great beaches or restaurants are also easy to reach by car. The communication and check-in went perfectly. The accommodation is absolutely recommended, we had a great time and would come back anytime.

We had such a wonderful week at Villa Ocean Dreams! Giuliana’s home was even more beautiful and spacious than the photos! The location was fantastic with the beach so close and the boardwalk to walk into the marina or town right across the street. The pool and hot tub made our week even better. We spent much of our time in the comfortable gathering areas by the pool, under the shade and awnings upstairs and downstairs, or playing games in the evening at the dining table. All of the beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals for our group of five and was so well stocked with cooking utensils and appliances. Giuliana was so helpful and welcoming, making us feel right at home.

Our time in the Algarve was incredible, and this home made it even better. The space is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and perfectly situated for exploring the coast. It is well equipped with really anything you could need. Highly recommended for a true Algarve escape.

Beautiful house in a good location. Slightly disappointed that the fireplace was not operational. The house was also short on basics : eg: tea & sugar supplied, but no salt & pepper No soap in any bathrooms. Hopefully the supplies we left are there for the next occupants. Otherwise it was fairly good & the host was always responsive.

Unfortunately writing a positive review means that more people will want to go , which will have the probable effect of making it more difficult to book !! However it was exactly as advertised, great spot, you could just sit on the balcony/sun terrace and look at the sea and beach views. The house was very clean and the beds/pillows super comfy. The hosts were on hand via a social network that I’m not allowed to mention 🤷 very quickly, to be honest couldn’t fault a thing. Will definitely book again……if we con get in 🤣

The most amazing place we’ve ever stayed. We travel as a family of 7 and use Airbnb regularly all over the world. This is the best presented, best location, so close to fun experiences, history, culture, beaches. We all loved it and wish we’d stayed longer. The house is beautiful, well thought out and stunningly decorated, with well curated art. It felt like home much more than the average Airbnb experience. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous villa, Everything was well thought out and there was everything you could have possibly needed . Stunning entrance and views huge pool, loads of seating areas. This place is not to be missed . 5 mins taxi to new or old town or marina, 30 mins to vilamoura. A very special place indeed

Blue Hill Boutique and Antonio have been fantastic. The villa is first class and the photos are an exact likeness. It truly made for a luxury stay and we will absolutely book again. We are a family of 2 children, 2 adults and the villa is both private, peaceful and very secure. The layout of the villa is perfect with every bedroom opening up to the pool. Olhão harbour was a favourite for gelato when we could convince the children to have a break from the pool. Antonio’s hospitality is first class and nothing was too much trouble and appreciated, especially the welcome bottle of rose

What a fantastic property and location. We had high expectations from the photos and price, but they were met and more. Modern with all of the amenities: cooking essentials, beach gear / toys, towels, beers if you're lucky the previous guest didn't finish them! Wendy and Manel are very responsive (when asked - not interfering!) and I am so glad they have shared their home with us for a week. We've walked the coastal path on past visits and wondered what it would be like to live in one of the villas right next to it... Now we know and want to do it again!

Casa Mu is a beautiful home with zen like qualities and an expansive view. We were staying at the house during the black out. Matthijs reached out to us while the cell towers were still live and came by to open the gates manually so we could get back to the house. Yannick stopped by later in the day to give us updates. The home has a Big Green egg and we had bought charcoal the day we arrived so we were able to cook dinner. Thankfully power was down for only a short time. Casa Mu has one of the best equipped kitchens I’ve ever seen in a rental. We bought oranges and limes from a roadside stand and made fresh juice using the electric juicer. Beds are super comfortable and bathrooms well equipped. I would suggest bringing bar soap for the shower. There were 7 of us and we had plenty of room to hang out both inside and outside the house. The pool is not heated, but I did go in. A bit bracing, but not too cold. For food shopping, go to Apolonia in Lagoa. Great store that has all you need

If you're looking for a place to stay near Praia da Arrifana, book Lyn's beautiful home - you won't regret it! We were there during a major storm, and even with poor weather we had an absolutely wonderful time. The house is very spacious and comfortably decorated, with an extremely well-equipped kitchen for cooking (a huge plus for us). The house is walking distance from the beach and the Rota Vicentina hiking trails, and there's a good supermarket just a few minutes away by car. Lyn and Mariana were very easy to communicate with and helpful...we'd love to go back some time!

amazing villa. had such a great 5 days here. villa is stunning and hosts were excellent. swimming pool was a lovely temperature and villa was exactly as described. we would love to stay there again! only slight negative was it was very hot and although there was no air conditioning.(which we were aware of) the fans in the bedrooms could be a bit better!

Great time at a beautiful villa, perfect for a large group. Ubers and taxi only 15/20 mins to busy location. Would definitely recommend.

We have stayed last year and everything was great then . My feedback last year was that the beach towels were small however they have acted on the feedback and plenty of large beach towels are supplied . Clean and private spacious villa in a lovely setting . Walk to Porto de mos beach but be aware that Antonio’s restaurant is shut on Mondays .

We booked Filips place quite last minute but he was very responsive and helpful so everything went well finding the house. Upon arrival he greeted us, showed us around and kept being very responsive during our stay. We enjoyed the beautiful house and it's quiet location very much and would happily book the house again should we decide to travel to Algarve again.

Our stay at Vila G, Mira Luz was all that we had hoped it would be. The stunning views were not hard to take every morning over coffee. The accommodations were very comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. Walking distance to the beach and the little shops/restaurants. The area was quiet and well maintained with a gated community to feel safe and secure. We even survived the blackout ! Thank you for hospitality would definitely recommend.

This was a truly fantastic villa, just what we (as a couple) were looking for (difficult to find good size villas for two persons); but could comfortably accommodate at least 4. Everything was as described; and Catia responded promptly to questions, etc. The villa is in a great location, less than 5 minutes walk from many restaurants (Sao Domingos is especially good) and other local amenities - Aldi is less than 5 minutes walk; a small Apolonia (think Waitrose Express) about 15-20 minutes walk (less than 5 by car); and a large Continente (Tesco/Sainsbury's) about 10 - 15 minutes drive (in the Algarve Shopping Mall). Praia da Gale is also 15-20 minutes walk (5 by car), with Restaurant Praia da Gale also recommended. It is beautiful inside, with plenty of kitchen equipment; and beautifully furnished and finished. Very easy to find as on the main road through the town. All in all, a fabulous place; and we will certainly look to book again when looking to stay in Gale.

We stayed at this property for three nights with my children and parents, and it was perfection. Everything was brand new and top quality. You could tell there was a lot of attention to detail when designing / refurbishing the space. Stefanie was super-responsive and it was a breeze getting in and checking-out. We hope to stay there again when it warms up so we can use the breathtaking pool area. 10/10.

We’ve just returned from a week at this amazing villa. It’s perfect for a family break and we’ve already looked at booking it again next year. Our little girl loved the poole and there were plenty of floating toys left by previous guests as well as the ones we left ourselves. If you’re going shopping for food the supermarket continenta about 15 mins away is great whilst the nearby aldi has little choice and empty shelves. There is an Italian pizzeria at the bottom of the road which is very nice but a little bit expensive. The chopping boards are in the draw near the sink, it took us a few days to find them. This was our first villa holiday and I won’t go back to a package holiday after this. The hosts were helpful and polite throughout. There is a mention of a nearby building site and noise but you can barely hear them.

As two combined families, the villa's next door to each other worked perfectly! The setting is beautiful and the views from the terrace, stunning for a sun set. We had everything we needed and had a wonderful week. Easy enough to find. Nick was prompt meeting us and was helpful with lots of information. Villa's both well equipped and comfortable. Comfy beds, soft towels, plenty of space. Pool was great and cleaned regularly. All in all a fabulous stay. Thanks all.

This house has a gorgeous view of the sea! Perched high on the cliff and only a few feet from steps that leads directly to a first rate restaurant and direct access to the beach with shops, restaurants and bars. Each of the four bedrooms has a sea view and an ensuite bathroom! The outdoor areas are spacious, with quality furniture and pool loungers...and the pool is sparkling, clean and in great condition!! There is a Nespresso machine but be sure to bring your own pods if you are staying long.There are none at the local grocery store to buy. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with plenty of cups, glasses, plates, bowls, and silverware. We rented the unit in late May during an annual fly hatching season. We had to deal with thousands of flies in the house when we arrived. We were given warning by the owner a few days before arrival. This is not something that can be controlled as it is a seasonable problem, but you should be aware of this if you plan to travel around that time
