Cabin holiday rentals in Bonnechere Valley

My family had the pleasure of staying here for the first week in June 2025. We had a fabulous week enjoying this fabulous cottage and its surroundings. The inside offered us all the comfort and things we needed, including an awesome hot tub "tub" complete with rolled towels, clothes pegs and plastic glasses! Everything was exceptionally clean and there were lots of great books and games to keep us entertained as we lazed around the beautiful property. The kayaks and paddle boards were so much fun as we explored both directions on the river. Honestly the property was SO nice we hardly wanted to leave it but we did manage to get out a few days to visit Ottawa and the cute towns of Perth & Almonte. Two fabulous restaurants we visited and recommend is Joe's Italian Kitchen (In Almonte) and Michael's Table in Perth. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog Russ who had the BEST time all week enjoying the water, boats and watching the wild life from his little fur rug in sunny bay window.

We had such a great stay at this place! Super calm, peaceful, and surrounded by trees with an awesome view of the lake. Mornings were especially lovely, with the harmony of birdsong adding to the relaxing atmosphere. The sauna and hot tub were a big bonus and really added to the relaxation vibe. It’s in a beautiful green area, away from the noise of city life, but still just about 20 minutes from stores and local spots. We also loved the little extras like kayak, projector, and all the games and board games definitely made our family time even more fun. The team was super responsive and helpful, answering all our questions quickly. My family and I really enjoyed our time here, thank you for everything Breathe Vacation Rentals!

We loved it! The cottage is located in a private area on the lake, well-decorated, and has 4 levels making it very spacious. The hottub and sauna were awesome - perfect for our winter stay. We liked the couch in the downstairs living room as it was big and comfortable, and we appreciated the Roku for easy streaming. We had no issues driving to the cottage even after heavy snowfall - the private road and driveway were cleared. Walkways, stairs and decks were also cleared. Plenty of room outside for walks with a dog and other activities. We would highly recommend Siobhan’s cottage!

Wanda’s cozy little cabin was the perfect spot for a relaxing winter getaway! Her place exceeded the photos, as soon as we walked in Wanda already had the wood stove fireplace going so that the place was warm and cozy when we arrived. She was extremely pleasant and responsive when we had questions and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We loved it so much we didn’t want to leave! Would definetley recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway.

Wonderful place to spend some relaxed days in the beautiful Canadian nature. The cottage was fully equipped, neat, cozy and lovingly decorated. Exactly as shown on the pictures. Nothing was missed. Charlotte and Cindy replied within shortest time and provided all relevant information well in advance. We enjoyed the stay from the first minute and couldn't imagine a better place for our vacation. Hope to come back!

Prunella No.4 A-frame cabin is a gem. Nancy and Catherine are amazing hosts - they provided everything we needed to feel at home. They even had all the amenities for our pup, including a dog bed and bowls, which was a thoughtful touch. Their attention to detail, from the property, to the decor and lights inside and outside the cabin, the dock and everything at the lake, was perfect and made our stay a 5 star experience. We loved exploring the trails and taking the kayak and paddleboard out. We look forward to going back already.

In a word, perfect. the place was pristine and private, and Dan was great to deal with. there is a town 5 minutes up the road as well, so while it's private and feels remote, you still have access to a grocery store etc. we WILL be staying here again, and I cannot wait!

Stunning area, amazing location, and fantastic amenities. Very well thought out layout. Going from the hot tub to the sauna was so good after a long day of 4wheeling. Every question is answered in the guest book. When we didnhave a question Meghan took care of if asap. Thankyou Meghan and the owners for such a beautiful spot. Ben and the 4 wheeling gang.

Had an amazing stay in this cozy chalet with a beautiful lake and fall views full of colours! Gurmeet was very responsive and helpful. The drive to this place makes the experience even more beautiful and worthwhile. Will visit again!!

We had this one booked since November so we were super excited and it was as nice if not more beautiful in person, we will keep coming back and already have other locations booked, see you soon

From the second we arrived Monica made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to accommodate us. We were showed to our private cabin overlooking the lake, given a quick tour of the amenities and settled in for an incredible stay. The site and the views are just like the pictures, but better in person. Kitchen was stocked with necessities and a few small appliances, propane full for the BBQ and outdoor shower water heater. A hammock, deck and private dock all within feet of the cabin as well. I really want to stress how great of a host Monica was. Thank you for helping make such a memorable trip for us. 10/10 recommend. can't wait to come back!

Easy no contact needed entry. The host was quick to respond to any questions. Good use was made of the space so you had everything you needed but could still move around. The kitchen is very well stocked with extras as well as necessities for cooking. A top notch shower head that wasn't to low (I'm 6 feet tall), and towels provided. Outside had a fire pit and firewood provided.

I wish I could give 1000 stars. His little slice of heaven on the lake in the woods was amazing. He was an amazing host. We will definitely be back and we are going to bring out daughter next time.

We had an amazing time here! From the moment we arrived, it was peaceful and quaint. Walking in to cabin, it was far better than our expectations and the pictures posted. The big windows and open concept kitchen/dining/living room was amazing! We could see and hear nature without having to be in nature. Caitlin was a great host! Super attentive, friendly and responsive when we reached out. We will definitely be back! Would recommend this cabin a million times over!

What a wonderful escape! The water nearly surrounded the cottage and every direction you have a gorgeous view. Our days were spent on the lake in the kayak exploring the area. The water was so clear that you could see all the fish. Our dogs loved the area and the swimming. The area was private, and had everything we needed. We hope to return next summer!

Spent a night with some buddies and had a great time. The place was very clean, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed. We loved the open concept too - the loft bedroom was really cool. Would highly recommend!

This place exceeded all our expectations. The host is phenomenal. His responses were always fast, extremely friendly and understanding. He was very accommodating with our date changes (due to a military move) and made our process super easy. The place is stunning. Even better than the pictures. It’s open, spacious, with lots of modern, high end touches. I have already been recommending this place to all my friends. It’s a must stay- in the winter or summer. This place was beautiful and felt like home! There’s is not a lot of cell phone service only on wifi. The house had everything you needed, just when you thought you brought everything they already had it! Spices, pans, pots, tin foil etc. It is a very quiet area. There was a dock a few minutes away we launched our boat to go fishing as well! Will be back for sure!

My partner and our dog spent a long weekend at Peter's cabin in the woods in mid-June, and it was perfect! Very private but only a 10 minute drive into Bancroft which had everything we could possibly have needed. Beautiful space (indoor and out) with everything we could have possibly needed. It's a perfect location for a weekend getaway! There was a booklet with clear instruction on the wood-burning fire, generator and battery, and the water situation, as well as a map of the property. We tried getting to 'beach 2' but there wasn't a clear path and couldn't find it, but the main beach was a 5 minute walk away and was beautiful, Completely private, sandy, and with clear water that was great to swim/float around in. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet weekend getaway, and will almost definitely come back. Just make sure you keep the bug spray nearby!

Our family enjoyed a truly exceptional stay, exceeding all expectations. The experience was not only a relaxing getaway but also provided valuable educational opportunities for the children. The hosts' instruction in cow milking and their insightful presentation of their off-grid lifestyle were particularly appreciated. The children, and we ourselves, thoroughly enjoyed the visit. We wholeheartedly recommend this location and plan to return in the future 100%!

This is a lovely and tranquil spot, a favourite that we’ve returned to three times now. There are plenty of places to hike through nature nearby and there’s even great takeout food just a few minutes drive away. Our nights were filled with stars and the sounds of coyotes and owls. Our days were graced with soaring eagles, chipmunks and deer. Cherry Ann is a great host who makes sure the cabin is pristine for all the guests, and is responsive to our needs. We are already planning our return next year.

The cottage was peaceful, private, and fully stocked with all the daily use stuff we forgot to pack (a lifesaver, honestly). Only letdown? The weather. Still, the vibes were right, and we made the most of it. Definitely would book again.

Hilltop Cabin is such a hidden gem! It is exactly as described. Tucked away and surrounded by trees; we found it so peaceful with only the sounds of the birds, loons and very friendly chickens. Saw a deer cross the driveway as we arrived so that was a treat. Jenn is such a great host and provided every amenity you could possibly need, plus fresh eggs and other goodies. The host family is on the property but we never heard or saw them except for a much appreciated visit to advise us of a brief power outage. We are already planning to stay at this cabin again in the future. Were there any negative issues? Only the score in the hockey game!!
