Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Central Austin

In the past 20 years we have stayed at over a dozen lodgings offered by AirBnB in Austin. This home is the best by far. It is sparkling clean and perfectly outfitted for one or two people. The owner is wonderfully receptive, and available to questions, and she thoughtfully supplied plenty of toiletries. The neighborhood is excellent, both tranquil, and yet filled with runners and people walking their dogs. Many eateries and cafes are within a short walk or drive. Both rooftop decks are delightful if the weather permits outdoor enjoyment of your friends and meals. The most minor of caveats would be for any elderly visitors or others with mobility issues. The sleeping arrangements are upstairs, so if this is an issue, it is best to consider another place.

Unless you just want to stay right in the middle of downtown Austin, this is the perfect spot. Close to downtown but a bit of a walk. We took an Uber from downtown and it was only $8. When we go back to Austin we will stay here again for sure. :0)

My stay at The Overlook was very relaxing and peaceful. The house is stocked with all the amenities needed to feel like a home away from home. I loved the gourmet kitchen. The appliances and gadgets are all top quality. I loved the fancy coffee maker and there is also a beautiful espresso maker if you’re into that. The hosts made it easy by providing ground coffee in the fridge as well as creamer! The upstairs bathroom has a beautiful shower and is fully equipped with everything you need. The bed I slept in was comfortable and the linens spotless. The decor is tasteful with a fun Austin/Texas theme. The yard is fenced and private. This house is the perfect place to stay if you want to be near all that Austin has to offer but also want to have a comfortable home-base to come back to and recharge your batteries!

Great place to stay and was an easy walk to the venue we saw a show at.

Great spot in a very cute neighborhood. Close to lots of good restaurants and bars. Very easy check in experience, super comfortable place with lots of amenities. Definitely recommend!

Juno was wonderful and her place was such a peaceful and beautiful retreat. Everything was as described and she was so so accommodating. Everything you needed was walking distance. We reached out needing a last minute accommodation and were lucky that this space was available. Thank you again for having us.

Great location, a lot of places to eat nearby, surprisingly quiet neighborhood especially for an apartment. A lot of parking spaces and happy with everything we got for the price but only wish they had some curtains for the windows because we like it dark when we sleep and there was just too much light coming in. Jana communicated very well and responded fast.

Great stay! I loved the location the most with easy access to any part of Austin as well as a running/biking trail right across the street. Would book again when I need a quick trip to Austin.

Had a great time here, the area was peaceful and the on-site parking was specially useful as a car is a must in Austin. Tobin is responsive and was able to fix any issues quickly, as well as giving useful recommendations.

We needed a place to stay after selling our house and before moving out of Austin a few days after. The location and house were great, and Molly was very responsive, flexible and helpful!

Had a great time at Ira’s place in Austin! The location is great and you can sometimes hear the music from a backyard concert venue.

This little place was so perfect for our needs. It was incredibly close to all the activities we wanted to do. Very close to downtown and yet in a really cute and clean and nice neighborhood. The place itself is darling. It possibly at one time was an older apartment but all redone and upgraded, It has a darling area to sit at in the lower entry part, or you can sit up on the balcony, lovely trees everywhere. The bed is tucked in a little cubbyhole, luckily we’re still young enough to climb in there. You just have to maybe put your phone under your pillow if you need it by you for an alarm or something, since there are not room for tables, but we made it all work! We don’t sweat the small things, the location was worth everything. Oh, and not to mention the covered parking! The host went above and beyond helping in any areas we needed! Would definitely stay again.

I enjoyed my stay in Lucy’s place; it was well-stocked with necessary items to use during the stay. She was very responsive and proactive in figuring out a solution anything that needed attention. She was kind too. The neighborhood felt safe and there are a few cafes/restaurants in walk distance. Thanks Lucy!

Adriana's place was just as advertised! Clean, comfortable, and very inviting! The location is spectacular, super close to several top destinations in Austin. Adriana was a great host and answered the questions I had exceptionally fast. I would highly recommend her place and will plan on staying there again in the future!
