Holiday rentals with lake access in Central Europe

Louise was so sweet and her home is a little gem with the BEST bathtub EVER in the bedroom. Such a cool place and very roomie for a couple. Beautiful decor! Love the interior design touches mixing the old stone with more modern elements. The only negative was finding parking. Luckily we found a little spot all the way down the hill in front of the school….but this is Lake Como so we’re used to hiking up the hill!:) Just an FYI for anyone with mobility issues. We loved our stay and especially loved our meals out on the deck and also enjoyed Villa Lario built into the cliff just below. Fun experience:) We’d love to return sometime!

The house was huge and had everything we needed. A nice touch was the rice cooker which is hard to come by. Will definitely visit again if I’m in the area. This is the most value for money house that we rented in Switzerland. Giuseppe was always responsive and this is important especially if guests are already in the house and needed help.

We were 9 people and had two nights in Alexandra's beautiful house. Everything we needed was available. We were particularly pleased with the modern equipped kitchen, the possibility to visit the sauna. In the evening, we sat by the open campfire and talked. Was nice and romantic. Alexandra as a host was great: she responded quickly to our questions, gave advice on what to see and experience in the region, what shopping opportunities there are in the area. We were very satisfied with the stay at Alexandra's house and would also recommend it.

The view was even better than the photos could portray! Serene, cozy, and the perfect place to explore the surrounding area. Our daughter loved the animals and we would return in a heartbeat. Definitely need a car to access and it’s certainly rustic, but it has everything you could need and the charm of this place is second to none. Grazie!

We enjoyed the stay! Gandria is a picturesque, small village and despite the quiet, tranquil location, there are several restaurants and cafes where you can stop. Louise's apartment has been designed with great care and has everything you need for a few relaxing days.

It was a pleasant stay at Barbara's house, everything went well and the host was very friendly, helpful and approachable. The house was very cleaned, spacious and cozy, and surrounded by serene environment, definitely worth to stay here.

This place is amazing! The quiet nights on the patio, or walking down to the lake to enjoy the lights in the castle with evening setting on Lake Como were so wonderfully relaxing. I would recommend to anyone wanting to escape the insanity of Varenna. Other pluses. Town parking pass for Dervio. Amazing breakfast waiting for the ferry there, full kitchen for spectacular sunset meals with the best view of the lake!

Comfortable and quiet accommodation with excellent host. Views are as pictures show and lovely to relax on small balcony. Having asthma and slight mobility problem I did struggle with the 10 minute walk, all uphill, from town to home. The only other route consisted of 97 uneven stairs, the middle section being unlit. The apartment is twenty stairs up with no handrail. Taxi fare at night was only 10 euros so not a major problem. Also the C30 bus passes at the top of the road.

I highly recommend everyone to stay in this house. It has the most beautiful little garden in Brienz. It is a happy thing to lie here for an afternoon, and it is very quiet and convenient for transportation. Although it is next to the train station, it will not be noisy at all!!It's💯 a 100% residence!

This rental and location were superb. James was very responsive to questions. Loved how walkable it was to the train station and restaurants. We spent a day at Mt Pilatus and a day on the Stoos Ridge hike. One of the rooms had air conditioner issues, but James was working to have it repaired. The rooftop terrace was delightful for morning coffee and evening night caps. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing stay! Monica and Paolo went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect stay. Sending the best recommendations and advice. They responded immediately and even came and delivered water when the shops were closed. The place is outstanding with amazing views. Would stay again in a heartbeat and our trip was so special. Would recommend a car to get to and get around as think it would be difficult without car.

We spent a wonderful weekend in the cottage. The accommodation exceeded our expectations, it is really very nicely furnished, we were absolutely delighted with the abundance of original glass that is in the cottage for everyday use. We liked to sit in the garden. Despite the fact that the cottage is by the road, there is almost no traffic and it is quiet. The surroundings of the cottage are very nice and invite you to take walks. In summer, we recommend the local swimming pool. The owners were very nice and especially helpful when our car battery ran out.

Anna has created a perfect place to relax, here you can only feel good. There are many spots that invite you to linger. You have perfect privacy, but you are not far from the action. The cottage is cozy, small and superbly equipped, nothing is missing. Communication with Anna is warm, you feel super taken care of. We didn't miss the WiFi or the TV, you can just switch off in peace, perfect for digital detox. Berta and Fernando (the two highland cattle) immediately steal your heart. A perfect vacation for us!

Amazing view, super accommodation. Could sit outside entire day and take (nature) pictures if I had wanted to. Soo much other nature around though. Have a bike, boat or car to explore the wider area, go shopping. Loved it. Will be back for sure.

We enjoyed the long weekend in this beautiful house in the middle of nature: great location, birdsong, crickets chirping, frogs croaking, the Danube with lonely beaches in the immediate vicinity, ... a nice pre-summer feeling. The house was very comfortably equipped, bed linen fresh, 3 terraces around the house, outdoor shower, dog-friendly. Luckily, we had no mosquitoes and the other insects do not bother us. It's just nature. 😉 Thank you for hosting us in your beautiful accommodation!

This place is truly one of a kind. Simply the most exceptional place I have been to. Great restaurants nearby, directly accessible by boat. We just loved cruising around the lake with the small motor boat, it made everything feel more special. The place itself is unique, as only very few houses are available in Santa Margherita. Lots of birds to watch, but the icing on the cake was all the fireflies at night that sparkle in the dark, really magical. But above all, Mattia was the friendliest, most helpful host and made everything nice and comfortable for us.

We spent a wonderful 4 days in the house. The location is awesome and the private beach is simply fantastic. Communication with the hosts was quick and easy. The house is clean and the garden with the beautiful view is awesome. We were 2 adults with 2 dogs and for us it was perfect. The dogs cannot enter the water from the private beach (water is only accessible via 2 ladders) but 10m from the house they can easily swim. The place is great for bathing with the dogs. The spiral staircase was also not feasible for our (medium-sized) dogs, but they slept upstairs in the living room without any problems and we slept downstairs in the bedroom. The house is equipped with everything you need and the recycling system is perfectly prepared by the host. Everything was very clean upon our arrival. We enjoyed our vacation here very much and will definitely come back.
