Cabin holiday rentals in Chalk Creek

The home was in great shape and had everything we were expecting. We looked forward to a weekend away in a private and remote space. Overall we were very satisfied. I would caution anyone that there are cameras around the house exterior and it felt like we were being watched at all times. That became especially clear when someone came by the house to do work outside on Saturday morning, unannounced. They didn't disturb us, but it was just strange to come to the space when we had the home reserved. That just made us a bit uncomfortable. Also note that the door lock code is set for exactly the check in time. We commuted to the house from Denver, which is about a 2 hr drive and ended up showing up 10 min before check in. We had to sit in our car and wait for the code to reset to get in. It's a minor thing, but having like a 15-30 min grace period would be real hospitality.

Great stay close to Eleven Mile Reservoir! The cabin had great views of the reservoir and felt like home for our entire stay! The space was very comfortable for 5 people and a dog! Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to visit the reservoir!

Mark & Nancy were on top of everything before we got to the cabin. From vehicle recommendations to all of the info we needed to get in. The airbnb was stocked with everything we needed along with fun card and board games to keep everyone entertained. One couple on the trip even got engaged at the top of the hill right by the airbnb with the beautiful mountains in the background! 10/10 would recommend.

An absolute gem. Beautiful 360 degree views with all the comforts of home. Perfect spot to relax and rejuvenate after a big day hiking, biking, or paddling the Arkansas River. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Due to low competition and a decent price point compared to competition this place does well. I would rate it 3-4 stars based on just the mere location. The rating goes to 4-5 with the view you don’t get in Denver and the hot tub. Negatives- right off the highway so your heart rate goes up entering and leaving. There’s no shampoo just some cheap dollar store soap which I guess you can use for shampoo. Up to you.. bring your own if you want. Not really a tranquille mountain getaway as there’s a cabin infront of your nice Mountain View(not shown in the photos) and the sound of the highway outside. Positives- Hot tub with nice Mountain View’s, which make you forget about the highway noise and hopefully you fill it with good conversation with whoever you’re with. The prairie dogs scurrying around out back are cute. Conclusion- I have to say the hot tub saved it. Keep the hot tub maintained and people will be happy.

Bernedette’s cabin was such a nice stay in Buena Vista! Located very close to town and the hot springs, yet feels isolated surrounded by nature and the mountains. Our family really enjoyed the stay, using the hot tub, kitchen for cooking dinner, and tv for movie nights. I recommend to anyone looking for a close to town, cabin stay in Buena Vista!

Joyce and John were wonderful hosts. The property was absolutely stunning and relaxing. Directions may be intimidating but very easy to get there. We didn’t feel the need to tip toe around with the hosts living downstairs. It’s important to be respectful but did not feel any pressure to be quiet like some previous reviews suggested. Joyce shared with us their up and coming project they’re working on and we are extremely excited for it to be finished to come back and visit. If you’re looking to relax and get away, this is definitely the place.

Wonderful stay! We really appreciated the thoughtfulness of the host, such as having enough towels, toiletries, and even common stuff that you might for get like make up remover wipes. I feel like these days airbnb hosts aren't super considerate like that, and have only the bare minimums but we didn't feel that way for this rental! 10 out of 10.

This place was exactly the relaxing getaway we were looking for! It is for sure secluded, so make sure you prepare before you get there. Haley was very responsive and friendly. The house is very pretty and open with a well stocked kitchen. The scenery is gorgeous and there is a super fun hike right down the road at Guffey Gorge, the bakery in town in Guffey is also excellent.

Beautiful place to spend the night, had a great time, would love to go back for a night or two in the summer!

Cute little place, close to adventure. A little closer to the highway than we thought so have to keep the dogs on the leash but it was clean, cozy, and the river access was wonderful. Overall great stay!

2nd visit here. Wonderful place to unplug! Beware: door handle will open from inside while it is locked - I did manage to lock myself out! Thank God I had my truck keys in my hand or I would’ve been sunk. Once I got down to Pitkin, Tony was quick to help me out with a spare key at 10:00pm in the middle of nowhere! I slept really great that night knowing I could’ve been sleeping in my truck! I would recommend Tony hiding a key somewhere or switching to a keypad lock (or even a lock that won’t let you open the door from the inside while it’s locked). Great stay in spite of a nerve-wrecking drive down to Pitkin one evening hoping I could reach Tony. Thankfully it all worked out. Also - FYI - the drive from the Pitkin side is not as rocky as the drive from Tincup. Definitely recommend going up from Pitkin if you can.

Our whole group (8 total) really enjoyed our "girls weekend" here. We were all blown away by the view through the huge living room windows when we first came in the back door. The place was also bigger than we expected, which was a great surprise. The house had everything we needed for a big home cooked dinner, good night's sleep, and a movie night. We also loved the deck for happy hour drinks and star viewing at night. I really appreciated how quiet of an area it is. I highly recommend this home for anyone willing to be outside of town/a 20 minute drive to Buena Vista.

I can’t say enough good things about my stay. The place may be small but it’s perfect for a solo traveler, and the attention to detail made it feel so worthwhile. Everything is thoughtfully cleaned and all basic needs provided for, and then some. Bettina is a great host and very responsive. Twin Lakes is a dream I’m already wishing I’d stayed longer.

Pauls cabin is a great retreat away from the city. The stars were bright and the seclusion was beautiful both night and day!

We really enjoyed this place for our group of 8. It’s hard to find a great place for a big group usually but that wasn’t the case this time. Our mom recently passed away and this provided a nice and nearby getaway for us to be together. This is super close to the hot springs. The recommendation to visit the fish hatchery was wonderful too. Thank you, you have a beautiful lodge and we hope to be back.

My family stayed at the cabin for Christmas and loved our time there. Getting there was easy because of the clear directions provided. We maxed out the capacity between adults, a 1 year old and 2 dogs but the lofted master and open 3rd floor loft weren’t an issue since we were all awake at the same time. The main floor was perfect - we cooked all our meals there, ate together at the dining table and all hung out comfortably in the living room, they even had a tree & garland up for the holidays which was nice. A few things to note if planning to cook, the dishwasher is in rough shape and doesn’t clean all the way so we had to hand wash dishes when we arrived as well as throughout the stay. The freezer doesn’t quite stay cold so we had ice cream & ice cubes that melted. Overall it was a beautiful area and communication with Barb & David was great, they were so responsive before, during & after. We’re so happy we chose to stay here & made such fun memories as a family.

Very nice home nestled in the tree line at base of Mt. Yale. Very quite and peaceful area and close to Buena Vista and local attractions. Host provides a thorough welcome book provided prior to arrival that has all the information needed along with suggestions for local restaurants and other area offerings. Would recommend for those looking for quiet away from the crowds and in a beautiful setting.

House was just as pictured. Clean, comfortable, private. Excellent amenities. We love it!!! Hope we get the opportunity to stay there again. Amber was so welcoming, and helpful.

Perfect stay. Great hosts. This is their second home, fully equipped. If you stay here please treat it as your own. Location is quiet, with an amazing view & close proximity to Buena Vista for shopping, hiking, water sports. Lotsa room for a big family, or 2 couples and kids. I had it all to myself for 7 nights. Kids room has bunk beds. Wifi was plenty fast with the living room smart Tv and surround sound system. Plenty of parking for several cars with easy access on county maintained dirt roads.

When you think of a secluded and peaceful cabin, this immediately comes to mind! We were provided such a cozy and spacious stay with beautiful views of the mountains out in the distance along with bright moon and stars at night! Overall, such a great stay and we hope to be back the next time out! Only downside of the stay (if I were to have any) would be just that the furniture is a bit outdated/worn out and the distance from civilization (nothing crazy but about 25 minutes from the closest store so come prepared for those who aren’t used to it!)

The stay was fantastic! Esther was able to get us in for a last minute weekend getaway. The expansive views from both floors were an amazing way to spend meals and morning coffee. Would stay again!

Wonderful place, beautiful scenery, got to see deer walking in the backyard, that wasn’t expected but wonderful to see. Will definitely stay there again when we visit Buena Vista. Well worth what paid to stay.
