Cottage holiday rentals in Chania

Stayed here for three weeks in April. The Makis mother did her absolute best to make us feel at home right away - she often brought us home cooked pastries and Greek desserts. Starlink Internet was stable and fast, had no issues with it. You are pretty high up in the mountains so it can get chilly if you are not going in summer, when we arrived it was pretty cold inside. Water pressure is not great but manageable, it's also solar hot water, so the temperature can be hit and miss. The place has hotel-like access card for the lights and sockets, so when you leave everything turns off, which can be a bit of nuisance. Not much natural light inside, but the mains lighting inside is more than sufficient during night time. For better or worse you are middle of nowhere surrounded by mountains and sheep's, thus there is really no reception in the area, for sms and calls you need to go outside.

Such a beautiful home, with an amazing view of the mountains! Perfect view of the Milky Way at night from the private balcony. The home was extremely clean and well decorated. The air conditioning was modern, functional and very welcoming after long days at the beach. The bed was soft and very comfortable. If you don’t mind narrow, winding roads up the mountain, it is the perfect place to stay! 40 minutes drive to Chania, and within 2 hours drive of most major, popular beaches. Nikos was very kind, responsive, and welcoming. Thanks to his hospitality, my stay in Crete was an outstanding experience!

Absolutely beautiful home in a stunning area. The ride out to Theriso was beautiful and the village was so peaceful. We sat outside in the evening listening to the night sounds and watching the stars. The beds were comfortable and the house had everything we needed. lovely restaurants close by. Great place with a lot of character

The place is charming and friendly also very well designed and built. The gardens are beautiful. We loved the resident cats but then we love cats. The valley is beautiful with almost no traffic so very peaceful. The swimming pool is great. It’s a special location , you definitely need a car to get about and visit the main beaches etc which were excellent and Kissamos which is good. The photos are very accurate but it’s better in real life

The villa is beautifully situated in a dead end street on the mountain of the small village of Armenoi. Everything is well maintained, clean and atmospheric. All sanitary functions are very well maintained, the kitchen is good incl. Dishwasher and the sleeping areas maintained. The grill worked flawlessly and coal and lighter were ready. The communication with Elina was great, very helpful and attentive. A car is indispensable if you want to go to the sea ( 8 min. Travel time to Kalyves ). I would come back anytime and therefore recommend it with a clear conscience.

This is my family’s second time staying with casa magnolia and believe me when I say you really will not find a more generous, loving, and friendly family who genuinely care about your comfort and want to show you the beautiful hospitality that Crete is known for. We were overjoyed to see them again and are very thankful that this family has chosen to share their little paradise on earth with the world. The home is spotless clean, organized, beautifully decorated and in a countryside location that is unique and breathtaking. The owners, without asking, went out of their way to buy us essential groceries and prepare delicious local food and drink for when we arrived. We are grateful for this! Bed linens are of high quality and freshly laundered professionally and were much appreciated after a long day out and about in Chania. Bathrooms are exceptionally clean and so is the rest of the house. We will never hesitate to visit again and hope to do so in future because of this family. ❤

What a wonderful experience! From the first contact, the hostess was very friendly and helpful. She immediately gave us a welcome feeling and made sure that everything was arranged to perfection. The communication went very smoothly, the cottage was brand new, cozy and everything we needed was present. You can really tell that she welcomes her guests with love and care.

Kefalas is a great village to stay in, its very typical Greek and not spoiled and touristic. It has two nice restaurants, two little supermarkets for groceries, al within walking distance. The location is great to travel to Chania, Rethimnon, Georgioupoli, but also Aptera, Lake Kournas, Plakias, or walk one of the Gorges. The house is unbelievable with multiple lighted places to sit in the garden of balcony. So if you want Sun or Shade it is easy to find. The house is very spacious with 3 nice bedrooms, and also room to relay and sit as well downstairs as upstairs. You can park your car on the own terrain next to the house.

Superb! Host was proactive in communication and responsive as well as friendly upon arrival, even returned with a welcoming bottle of wine! Location was perfect, close to all activities yet quite and peaceful after full days of fun. Highest recommendation if you plan on visiting the area. We are looking forward to a return trip!

The house is perfect for a quiet place to relax. Everything is perfectly furnished with what you need to live. The fridge has been filled with food and drinks. Very recommended!

We had a great stay here! The place is super quiet and surrounded by olive trees and fruit trees — really peaceful. The garden was just for us, which we loved. The house was clean and spacious, with lots of room for our luggage. Parking was easy too. Katerina and her mom were very nice and responsive, and they even left us some fresh fruit. The lemons were unbelievably tasty! All in all, a really relaxing and comfortable stay. Would definitely come back!

I’ve just had a fantastic 3 week stay at Alexandros Luxury House, and I can’t say enough good things about this fantastic place. The location is idyllic, rustic with a beautiful coast line, a lovely restaurant and beach with a cafe in walking distance. The house has EVERYTHING you could possibly need, it’s immaculately clean and even nicer than the pictures. The bedrooms are comfy and the kitchen very well equipped. During my stay the grandmother cooked for me, which was so special, not to mention delicious! I will definitely be going back.

Super stay with a large enclosed garden. Close enough to the beach, markets, and restaurants to get there by car within 10-15 minutes. Everything we needed was on hand, and the dogs loved the enclosed space!

very nice little house, in the orange trees. The village is close with a tavern, but you have to take the car for everything. Our host is responsive and offers good advice.

Wonderful cottage in a perfect location with magnificent terrace and views over the bay and the beautiful hinterland of Plakias! Charis was a superb host!!!

This house and the owner get 5 stars on all levels... amazing place... very quiet... very accommodating and responsive host... got a package during our stay with no problems... would definitely stay again if we ever come back to the area, in fact it would be our top choice to stay in the area... absolutely loved it! 🙏👍

The two-story house is beautifully and authentically renovated, sparkling clean and there is no unnecessary clutter. There is a great terrace upstairs (where the bedroom and bathroom are) with an umbrella and large stone table. It is so large that even 2 or 3 people could do yoga. There is a wonderful peace and quiet and is therefore maximally relaxing. The bedroom can be darkened well with shutters, so a restful sleep is possible. The kitchen contains all the amenities you could need. Stella and her husband are very nice, there was even a lovingly prepared fruit basket and even homemade cake. Absolutely recommended!

The place was beautiful and perfect for a good family time. Nikkos is very helpful, flexible, and caring of our needs. He went beyond, to ensure we had a wonderful time. Highly Recommended Host. We have just returned for our stay and are feeling super refreshed yet a bit gloomy to no longer be in our mountain retreat! Natura house is a home from home. It is set in such a beautiful landscape. A perfect base to unwind to the sound of birdsong and cockerels, with large terraces and everything you could need. It is situated a short drive to some beautiful beaches. We were greeted to homemade produce which was a lovely touch! Communication was great and check in easy, we met Mikes dad who was very hospitable. The local people of Limni are so friendly - there is a lovely mini market , a few minutes walk away with fresh local produce, cheese, eggs etc. They also serve coffee/juice etc. As well as a great taverna (says bar/cafe) but offers true home cooking, no menu style, which is in my book the best - we had a fantastic rabbit stew, chicken and Greek salad. There is also a bigger village Elos 5 mins drive away for more restaurant / store options. Thank you Mike and family!

We loved our stay. The location is superb. We also love the visiting goose and duck who were very tame. The house is equipped with all you need and is very clean. We didn't want to leave.

Located in the hills with a splendid view of Plakias Bay, Stratos' house is beautiful! You just have to plan for a car that's a little high because the road is a little difficult, but we spent 6 very pleasant days there. Thanks to Stratos and Markos.
