Holiday rentals with a kayak in Citrus County

Barbara was an amazing host! The place was so comfortable and peaceful. We had everything we needed for an amazing stay.

What a great place. As an airbnb host myself, I’m picky about my stays. Laurie communicated well from the moment we inquired about pets and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Even made sure we had access to bikes and kayaks. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well appointed and the screened back porch was a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee or an afternoon cocktail. At times it was so quiet we could hear the bees buzzing outside the screen. We even enjoyed daily visits from a hummingbird. Huge laundry/storage space gave extra room to store coolers and other bulky travel items. Plenty of towels too. An all around great location. It’s our second time staying in Floral City and there are two places we always stop- Sleepy Hollow (only 1/2 mile away with great shrimp from the food truck- beer, wine and seltzers only) and the Side Bar (downtown Inverness- short drive, full bar, great staff and delicious pizza.) We’ll be back!

This place was great! not only did they have a few drinks and snacks out in the kitchen but they also left us a bottle of wine! I've never seen an Airbnb host do that and I myself personally loved it. I would recommend Madison's place to anybody who is looking at it. She's very nice and responsive and very flexible on check in times. She gets five stars all the way around

This place is an absolute gem! We’ve stayed here several times, and it never disappoints. The waterfront views are stunning, the space is always spotless and well stocked with the essentials, and Robyn is consistently welcoming and attentive. It truly feels like a home away from home. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful stay!

We loved sitting on the screened porch morning and night. Very peaceful. Very comfortable for family. Good communication during stay. Heat and AC worked well. Very convenient location to Inverness. We arrived at night it was a little tricky to find but that's what made it so private. Maybe a blue reflector on the mailbox would help! Rowboat, kayacks, canoes, horseshoes, fishing gear, plenty of games for adults and children. A great time.

Had a great time and the place was perfect for what we had planned. Chaz was super responsive and easy to deal with. We will definitely be back

The home was very welcoming. There are even doggie treats in the foyer as you walk in. Sandra has everything you would need. She is wonderful about responding. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept on in a rental. The mattress was just right and they have down comforters and pillows. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything. We loved the Espresso machine! So yummy! It is quiet on the end of a canal. We did not use the kayaks but did use the pool. We rented kayaks at Kings Bay so we could go to the springs. It really was a wonderful vacation. Thank you Sandra!

Diane was great with communication and response . The Sunrise retreat was very clean, had the amenities needed in the house and very peaceful. We will be back ❤️

Family of 5 (3 kids) and two dogs from VA. Felt the house was perfect with a great yard and cool trees. The dogs didn’t need leashed and could be at ease with pool access being safe. (My dogs can’t swim) The sheets were real cotton (this means a lot) and the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of bedding and pillow options. Kitchen had the basics to cook meals which was easier. The house had everything we needed to have a great vacation other than food to eat. Close to everything we wanted to do. A great trail that was not a commercialized walk where we saw armadillos, manatees, an alligator, bald eagles, snakes and we could hear two owls talking. It was perfection. The swing out back was a nice peaceful touch and I really appreciated the grill. We saw crystal clear water at three sisters while kayaking as well as dolphins at sunset. We took a boat cruise to an island and found more shells I’ve seen in my life. I’d come back again and again. No hoopla where tons of people were.

It was just as pictured. Easy to find. Only thing to warn about if parking. It is down a dead end street. However, most streets are that way in the area. So definitely limited parking, read the parking instructions as they are “true to size”, so to say. Having a boat and launching in the marina we were able to have truck & boat trailer parking at the marina while boat was in the water. Not bad at all. Fenced in yard was great with a toddler and dog!

Shannon’s place was so cozy!! It was so clean and decorated so well. The location was close to restaurants and being right on the canal was so convenient. We were able to paddle Monkey Island. Shannon was a phenomenal host. She made sure we were taken care of and was very responsive. Would definitely stay again.

I booked Christine’s place for me and my friend to unplug from our busy lives for a couple of days. The beautiful lake, abundant wildlife, peaceful back porch and easy kayak launch were all we needed to recharge. We would love to visit again!

We are so happy we chose Dardens cabin as our spot to reset and relax. We work a lot and rarely get a chance to take time for ourselves and we were definitely due. My favorite part was being able to sit in the screened in patio, read a book and enjoy the beautiful nature outside while my boyfriend cooked on the grill. This place did exactly what we needed it to do and would definitely come back again.

I don't know where to begin! This home is perfect for a getaway. It's cute, comfortable, in a nice quiet neighborhood and has the private dock. We were there almost two weeks and I could have stayed longer. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch and out on the dock to do some fishing and just take in the local nature. Julie made recommendations on things to do in the area. Inverness is a very nice little city with about anything you can think of to do, not to mention the things to do within 30-60 mins. My bottom line is I highly recommend staying here! I bet you'll feel just like we did when we left.. sad it was time to go. But we will be back! :) Five star host!

Our friends booked a cabin to go tubing on Rainbow River. They were sold out when we decided to go, so we booked this spot. I was VERY pleasantly surprised at check-in to find it’s much nicer than a cabin. Very clean and recently redone with granite countertops throughout. My wife, my 9 year old daughter and I easily shared the one bedroom and bath with the pullout couch in the living area. Any necessary cookware and spices were there and a full size refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker. The cleanup and checkout instructions were easily manageable for the price. It’s very close to the Blue Run ending of the 4 hour float or one way kayak drift from the Mariam County Park up river. It’s also very close to Swampy’s, a very popular riverfront restaurant. With the cottages 2 kayaks, you can go upriver and drift back to Swampy’s and Blue Run if you can drive and launch them yourself about 3 minutes away. I recommend planning all of your activities before you arrive.

We were looking for a quiet get away and we got what we were looking for!!! Seclusion and quiet!!!! Saturday was a little loud with the summers launching and loading in the empty lot next door but it was short and brief, so it didn’t bother us.

This is a perfect spot for a peaceful weekend getaway and exploring in nature. A highlight of the stay was seeing all the wildlife on the Chassahowitzka River! This cabin was cozy, and felt like home. We appreciated amenities like board games, the grill and kayaks (& lifevests) which made the experience seamless. Make sure you bring your own mask and snorkel to make the most of this great spot with its very own river access!!

It was a very peaceful experience and a nice location with a beautiful dock that has a great view of the water.

Cutest cabin ever! The cabin decor was a treat witin itself. Cabin was comfy with ample room for 2. Our host was fabulous and our dig received a warm welcome as well. She was always available, stayed in contact, friendly and very accommodating. She even went so far as to get us a grill, hotplate, and a pan for our stay. I wasn't sure about the location on the property as it faced the restaurant with the parking lot outside the door, but the eye for detail in the landscaping made it feel private. Although the restaurant gets busy, it was relatively quiet. This a must stay for a lovely getaway.

SUCH an amazing place to stay. Amazing breakfast with all homemade foods and things grown in their garden, viktoria was so kind and helpful. She made us feel so welcome and she had great recommendations as to how to spend our time! Very easy check in/check out, very peaceful and comfortable. And although it’s a guest house right next to their main home, it felt very private! Would 100% recommend!!! Was such a lovely trip for me and my boyfriend we are even hoping to come back eventually to stay with them again :) Also all the animals were so fun to watch and play with!

What a magical little hidden gem! The hosts are super welcoming and made us feel right at home. I felt like I was friends with Jessica the manager by the time we left lol. They had these awesome (and affordable!) electric boats we rented for the day and explored the river by the resort. This place is super pet friendly too! The doggo loved waking around the resort and hanging on the boat with us. I’m already planning my next weekend getaway to this place.
