Cabin holiday rentals in Cleveland National Forest

We had a wonderful stay at this very cute, charming, and peaceful cabin nestled in the heart of Idyllwild. The location was perfect — just a short walk to town, yet it still felt tucked away and off the grid, offering plenty of peace and quiet. The cabin was cozy and thoughtfully decorated, with all the comforts we needed for a relaxing mountain getaway. We especially loved how close it was to some of the best hiking trails in the area, making it easy to explore the outdoors without much driving. Whether you're looking to unwind or adventure, this cabin strikes the perfect balance. We would absolutely book again!

Weekend trip with the family up to idyllwild in pursuit of fresh air and quality time. Despite the abundance of local activities, we really just wanted a laid back weekend together. The rooms were very clean and inviting, the kitchen was spotless and functional, the deck had amenities all in great condition. The hot tub was what sealed the deal. We’ve had many hot tubs that were low in water, cloudy or just not functioning. This one was just right. It was a short stay but we were very comfortable in our stay. Our host was responsive, friendly and gave detailed instructions for everything we needed to know. Thanks for hosting us!

Jill’s Wander Wild cabin was everything we were hoping for and more. It was fully stocked, and quiet and only minutes from town. The hot tub was wonderful, the bed was comfy and we absolutely loved listening to nature on the deck and drinking coffee in the mornings. We did a puzzle, listened to some music and just enjoyed the surroundings while we fell in love with the town. We will certainly be back if she’ll have us!

Fantastic getaway in the mountains, next to a babbling brook, with everything you could want. Just a quick trip down to the village but far enough away that it was super quiet. I'd been dreaming of an A frame with giant windows and a patio overlooking the trees and this was exactly it. That, plus the bonus of a cozy place to watch movies and hang out inside. It was my first trip to Idyllwild and I hope to come back again to stay here.

Raccoon Rock is a perfect place to go for relaxing and decompressing. It is a quaint cabin with rustic cabin and 60’s vintage furnishings . Less than a 5 minute drive to downtown Idyllwild, it was very conveniently situated. With a large deck, wood burning fireplace and well maintained hot tub, you can’t ask for a better place to stay! The host was friendly, responsive and helpful with a well put together “House Rules” book that also gave ideas and recommendations as to what Idyllwild had to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed our getaway and will definitely be returning 😊

Beautiful "cabin" type rental. Perfect for a family getaway. Comfortably housed six people. We played board games, watched movies, made dinner, and ate breakfast on the patio. Jacuzzi at night under the stars was especially nice. With all the lights off the stars were very visible from this location. The downstairs was large and really fun for our two daughters to have a hideaway where they could watch their shows, play Uno, and chat. The spiral staircase down is VERY narrow and a little precarious, be careful and do not attempt if you don't have good balance or mobility. Great escape from the big city and would recommend for someone who wants to get into nature or be close to Idyllwild town center. It's 5 minutes away from town and there are multiple nice hikes within a 5-10 minute drive. If you're cooking, I recommend bringing spices and oil. Host Heather was great! My daughter left an item behind. Heather responded quickly and called her cleaner to let us in 3 hours after check out.

This is our 3rd or 4th time here- we just love this Airbnb, truly our favorite! Our doodles have such a big enclosed yard to play- with trees and lots of wildlife all around us. And the prefect view of the Tahquitz rock too! I don’t even look for other Airbnbs anymore in Idyllwild- I just message Ariya and book☺️. The home is always clean with everything we need for cooking and relaxing. I always appreciate the assorted teas from their store as well. This time, we made sure we took advantage of the hot tub after a hike and a run. The bathrobes are always appreciated and even helpful when it got a little chilly at night. Ernie Maxwell trail is just over a mile from the house and my big dog and I hiked/ran there twice- such a beautiful place to take your dog(s). Ariya and Marc are such perfect hosts- always communicating and ensuring we are enjoying our stay. I also appreciated it when Ariya messaged me that I could check in early. Thanks again Ariya! Gorgeous views and surroundings. Kitchen is well stocked with high quality cooking supplies/pots/pans. Using the hot tub with the beautiful view was a dream. Waking up in the middle of the forest with birds singing was lovely. The hosts were wonderful - very responsive and kind.

Our family loved staying in the little A Frame! Lots of homey touches & natural decor that was practical and yet beautiful. The town is walkable from the home. Very peaceful location! Host is very responsive. (People with mobility issues would have a hard time with the stairs).

Perfect weekend getaway in the mountains! This 2 bed / 2 bath home was perfect for our little family (2 adults, 10 month old & 2 dogs). Downstairs- 1 bdr, 1 bathroom, kitchen, dining & living, sliding door to patio. Upstairs - 1 bdr(no door), 1 bathroom. We brought our own pack&play crib (but we noticed this Airbnb has one too!) & set it up in the downstairs bdr. Note: we also brought our own portable blackout curtains which were much needed. The downstairs bathroom has a tub. Upstairs- the bdr doesn’t have a door but there’s a short mesh safety gate which is perfect for dogs & babies. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking. Really appreciated the secure dog run for our dogs! They had no problem going potty out there. Also something to note: there’s a lot of noise outside the house including roosters, woodpeckers that peck at windows, birds and other animals that land on the roof. If you’re sensitive to noise, bring earplugs. Overall the home was clean & organized.

Teresa and Tom are excellent host. Teresa was available for and question. She thinks about everything that could be needed,I forgot a shaving razor and she had everything at hand for her guests! We enjoyed our time in T’s cabin a lot,and we highly recommend it. We hope to be back soon!

Rebecca’s was very accommodating to a last minute booking and was a generous host to my self, my partner, a rambunctious boy and two dogs. It was overall a pleasant stay. Thanks again!

We had such a wonderful stay at the Wavy Pines cabin. We were so happy to find a pet-friendly home that we could bring our whippet to share the fun with. Our dog had a blast going up and down the stairs and exploring all the smells outside and experiencing his first snow! The neighborhood was so serene and quiet, we felt so relaxed and it was an easy, short walk to a national forest trail that our dog also enjoyed very much. The town is only a few mins drive away which had restaurants and grocery stores so we were short of nothing during our stay. We look forward to staying again during our next trip to Idyllwild someday!

We had a great stay at the Lazy Gnome. The place was very clean and well decorated and furnished. My kids loved going up to the loft but beware that the steps/ladder are quite steep, though they had no issues using them. The neighborhood is nice and quite, the house is under many trees so has plenty of shade, and it's just a short drive to the main town area. We will absolutely consider staying here again next time we come to Idyllwild.

We had an awesome weekend. The cabin was very clean and it was very peaceful. It was wonderful to find a place that had a fenced in yard for the pups to run around. We cooked most meals there and the kitchen was well equipped. Thank you for sharing!

This was an ideal place for my two out-of-town friends and I to spend our annual catching-up with one another time. Idyllwild was a wonderful location, and The Lost Pine was just lovely. We ate dinners out - but could easily have prepared dinners in. Mornings I enjoyed my coffee out on the deck among the pine trees, and evenings we relaxed and chatted outside on the deck when we got back after dinner. What a lovely and peaceful setting! We enjoyed going into town and wandering around. Everything in the cabin was very very nice. Very comfortable beds, we ran the air-conditioning at night (days were warm but not uncomfortable and evenings were pleasant). Everything was easy to find or use and we pretty much just enjoyed ourselves there without having to worry about anything. Notebook with helpful area info was thorough! Check-in was easy and checking-out was too. It's been years since I visited Idyllwild and I'd love to return!

The pictures don’t do it justice! My husband and I did a last minute staycation and Finch Hatton (as it is named) happened to be available! Sunni’s cabin was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Everything was simply perfect. You can tell in all the little details that this is Sunni’s passion. If you are thinking is it worth the price the answer is YES! We are just in love with this quiet slice of heaven and hope to return one day for another restful stay 💜 If you’re thinking about purchasing food made to order, we can attest to Sunni’s excellent culinary skills. Very quiet and beautiful surroundings

Arriving here was like walking into your home. It was immediately inviting, comfortable and clean. Nathan was quick to respond when I asked about bringing our two cats and he was more than happy to host them. I originally picked his cabin for the fenced in yard, but the tree top deck ended up being phenomenal! Myself, my husband and both cats spent the entire weekend on that deck enjoying the quiet and watching all the wildlife. We are already planning to stay here again and will be staying even longer next time!

My husband and I just spent a fantastic Father's Day weekend at Lauren's house. The home is charming, decorated with comfort in mind and has all the extra details that really make a vacation home special. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well-stocked, including welcome treats, and while we didn't have little ones, there's plenty for them to do, such as games, painting, and books. For adults, there are other games, a hot tub and a great little downtown area with shops and restaurants not far away. It was so peaceful and the weather was great while we were there. Our dogs loved the fenced-in area and wandering on a leash on the unfenced part of the grounds. Lauren, the host, was very responsive and flexible with checkout. I highly recommend and hope to return!

The house is lovely, we especially enjoyed the trees and how calm and secluded it felt. The house is smartly furnished, with an intelligent and elegant attention to decoration and detail. The screened windows and doors on the upper level allowed us to be comfortable even though the weather was warm during our stay, and the downstairs bedrooms were cozy. The only real challenge with the property is that you have to carry everything up a long steep set of stairs. If you have packed heavy suitcases, or are brining food in a cooler, bear this in mind. We didn't have any problems with this, but it was a bit of a chore when we loading and unloading the car. The host makes this very clear in the listing, and we loved the place. In practice, the stairs are part of what allows the house feels so pleasantly secluded. Our visit was in June and we are definitely of a mind to visit again, perhaps during the winter when we could enjoy having a fire in the wood-burning stove.

A beautiful home with a beautiful view! Exactly what you would need for 3-6 people to stay. There are a set of stairs separating the lower master bedroom from the main living space/kitchen/2 upper bedrooms. You can hear movement and louder conversation from upstairs while downstairs. The master upstairs has a skylight- so a love (or dislike) for sleeping. Place had everything we needed. Location is ideal and a short walk to two great trailheads- one requiring a day permit (along the PCT) and the other scenic and lovely. Cell service is limited with WiFi a bit spotty with multiple phone users and a TV. Like others have said, water pressure for the showers is limited as it’s well water. Would recommend and would stay again!

I had a great weekend at this property. It’s comfortable, beautifully decorated, and well appointed with all the essentials. A highlight was getting to see the deer from the patio every day!

We had a very good stay in this cottage, will try to come up for a winter visit at some point
