Cabin holiday rentals in Colac Otway Shire

Bek is an extremely welcoming host who made our stay super easy. The location is superbly located with views straight out to the ocean and the little cottage is full of charm. We went at the start of winter and the fireplace was an absolute dream, very cosy, and perfect to get off grid for a weekend and explore the great ocean road. Couldn’t rate Bek and the accomodation at Glenaire Cottages highly enough! Looking forward to next time!

Had a beautiful long weekend hidden away in the trees. It was very rainy but didn't seem to matter sitting in front of the fire and watching the mist roll in across the hills. The rain also meant the nearby Beauchamp Falls were looking particularly dramatic. Highly recommend a hike through Beech Forrest to the falls.. that is if you can peel yourself away from the sauna for long enough 👏🏻

Joleen and I loved Jan’s place. Honestly it was well worth every penny. We really appreciate the time and effort you have put to make us feel comfortable and relaxed. We will definitely come back, thank you Jan and Pete!

Such a beautiful house in a lovely little town so close to the local cafe/restaurant.

A beautiful place to stay to get away from it all. Located only 20 minutes from Apollo Bay but well enough away from the crowds in town. A scenic 5-6km drive on a narrow, hilly road accessible by regular 2 wheel drive vehicle. Really enjoyed the drive and scenery every time we ventured in and out of the property, and a few wallabies to be seen. Lucky enough to see a koala in a tree on a neighbouring property and the verandah was a great setting to watch the local King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas feed. Weather was not our friend. It was cold and wet but sipping a bottle of red wine provided by the host in front of a wood fired heater watching the birds on the verandah made up for the weather. We can't speak highly enough of the property and it's location. If you want to see local native animals, we think winter is a better time to visit as in the hotter months, most animals are seeking shade and are not visible until dusk.

Great little cottage in a beautiful bush setting. Plenty of space for two couples, with comfy beds and everything we needed for a relaxed stay. Peaceful location, yet still an easy drive to Lorne. We really enjoyed our time here!

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The space was beautiful, private and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. We loved the fireplace and stunning views- it was the perfect cozy stay to unwind. The hosts were easy to communicate with, making everything seamless. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat.

A perfect place to unwind!! The field guide is very detailed and if you find yourself unsure about something prior/during your stay you probably didn’t read the field guide (like me haha). But the host of very friendly and a quick response settled all my queries. The stated distances to walk up to the cabin are correct and not an exaggeration, so just be aware. Ocean views (just), kangaroos aplenty, and cosy woody stove, what more could you ask for? I definitely hope to return one day :)

Beautiful spot for a weekend break from Melbourne. Cosy cabin when the fireplace is going. Nearby town has a great restaurant and it’s about 45 minutes to the 12 Apostles. Had a wonderful weekend away here.

It’s a great wooden cottage experience. The area is fairly accessible to the main Great Ocean Road. The area has convenient amenities such as supermarket and bakeries. Overall, the stay was comfortable and totally worth an experience.

This place was amazing! It was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. We woke up to walk to the lighthouse to try to spot koalas and ended up seeing 8 before we even got to the end of the row of cabins! It was just what we were looking for!

We absolutely loved our stay! The host was incredibly responsive, answering every question promptly and making our trip seamless. Waking up to kangaroos grazing right outside our door was the most delightful surprise—I don’t think we’ll ever forget it. The property feels wonderfully private (we never even closed the blinds and let the morning sun gently wake us), and it’s stocked with every amenity you could need. The bathroom was spotless and so comfortable—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the Kookaburra cottage. Beautiful, clean and quiet. Such a lovely area too. Tanya is a fantastic and caring host. Extra little surprises gave our stay that special little touch. Thank you, we highly recommend and will most definitely be back.

Just what you want to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Clean, quaint, and peaceful. Also feeding the parrots was a huge bonus :)

We had a great stay at the cabin. Location is great for families, with plenty to do at the park. Cabin was clean, as described and had everything we needed. Great communication from the host.

Very private and beautiful property that consists of the main house and the studio where guests stay. Park like setting just off the Great Ocean Road but tucked in so the traffic does not impact tranquility and privacy. The bathroom is attached to the studio but does require exiting it. That might be an issue for some guests in the winter time. It was not an issue for us in January. Dani was a co-host that we were communicating with and she was a great . Private but responsive, friendly and great to talk to. We had a fabulous stay and we hope that many more guests consider booking that beautiful location in Apollo Bay when exploring The Great Ocean Road and Otway National Park.
