Farmstay holiday rentals in Costa Rica

My friend and I really appreciated Ana Maria's hospitality and her family's gorgeous home. We loved the special personal touches including the jungle of house plants and well-stocked library with board games and books. Having the fireplace stocked with wood made it possible to have the perfect ambiance for reading in front of the fire on a misty afternoon! We found it helpful to have earplugs at night, as the home is close to a transit road, and earplugs did the trick to help us sleep soundly.

The gardens were a wonderfully peaceful respite. It was like taking a vacation while on vacation. The room was great, as described, and even had a dehumidifier available. The property is away from the city (we were able to Uber in and out of the city without too much issue - just a delay in finding a driver one night. We loved exploring and having our morning coffee in the gardens. We didn’t meet Phil, and we weren’t able to get a gate opener for our stay, but it worked out OK with two of us (one to drive the car and the other to get out and operate the gate).

If you are like me, always looking for views and sunsets don’t think twice! This comfortable little mountain home has by far the best views we have found so far in Monteverde. We usually head out at sunset time looking for a good spot but this stay we spent every evening watching the spectacular and ever changing panorama from our own front porch. Super comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Would like to add Waze will get you to the lower gate (search Casa del sol, Unnamed road). Just continue on the unpaved road and you will get there! Village is called Altos de Cebadilla.

Es ist ein tolles Haus in einer wunderschönen Umgebung. Wir haben die Zeit hier sehr genossen. Die Hausmangerin Chandra ist eine wundervolle Person - freundlich, nett und sehr hilfsbereit.

Nuestra estadía en Villa Aragón fue extraordinaria de principio a fin. Desde el momento en que llegamos, nos sentimos como en casa. La propiedad está muy bien ubicada, en una zona tranquila y segura, pero al mismo tiempo cerca de las hermosas playas de Puerto Viejo. Uno de los grandes puntos fuertes de la villa es, sin duda, el área de la piscina. Es amplia, está muy bien mantenida, rodeada de vegetación tropical y ofrece un ambiente de total tranquilidad. Fue nuestro lugar favorito para descansar. La casa súper limpia, con todo lo necesario para estar cómodos. La comunicación con los anfitriones fue excelente: siempre atentos, amables y dispuestos a ayudarnos con cualquier duda o recomendación. Se nota el cariño con el que cuidan la propiedad y el interés genuino en que sus huéspedes tengan una experiencia inolvidable. Superó nuestras expectativas. Es el lugar ideal si estás buscando comodidad, buena ubicación, Sin duda, la recomiendo al 100% y espero poder volver pronto.

Our stay was absolutely perfect! Jessica was an amazing host, with exceptional details and directions to the house and local recommendations that were spot on places to visit. Dillan was there to meet us and show us the place and make check-in and check out very easy. Her house is a fantastic place to stay in El Jobo. It was a short walk to a beautiful beach and the location gives you peace and serenity being right with nature, without being far from anything. The stars at night are amazing!!! We tried local restaurants like El Indio, shopped at the little store across the street and made the beautiful drive to La Cruz for coffee at Punta Descartes. We enjoyed the house and property so much. It couldn't have been a better experience. Jessica was so communicative and welcoming - she even sent a note to wish me happy birthday while we were staying there. She made it feel like we were staying at the home of a close friend. We enjoyed it all so much!

A absolute privilege to spend a few days here as a family. A gem of a house that felt immediately like a home. We loved the quirks and the passion for enjoyment. Top of our price range but to us it was worth every penny. Thank you Tucker.

Genny and Jason were wonderful hosts. The property is paradise surrounded by jungle but a close walk to the beach. Lots of shops and restaurants near by. The beds were comfortable. The shower was hot. Couldn't ask for anything more.

What an incredible getaway at Las Cumbres! It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The place is absolutely stunning, and the cabin exceeded all our expectations! There’s so much to explore nearby, making it an adventure-filled retreat. Our stay was simply delightful, and the host delivered outstanding service that truly made our experience unforgettable. Excelente lugar para ir en familia y pasar unos días rodeados de la naturaleza y la tranquilidad, fuera del bullicio del área turística, pero a su vez lo suficientemente cerca para visitar todos los lugares turísticos de La Fortuna. Leonardo es un host muy servicial y amable. Estuvo siempre disponible. Recomiendo este lugar y en definitiva volveré.

This place was absolutely perfect for what we needed for our family of 4. Our boys are teenagers and were fine sleeping in the room separate from the house. Everything was as expected and communication was great. Views were gorgeous as described. One of our most favorite stays in Costa Rica.

Nos encantó la casita de Irene, es acogedora, limpia, tiene todo lo necesario para una estancia confortable, una bella ubicación con acceso a muchos lugares interesantes de la zona. Nos sentimos seguros y nos encantó el ambiente y la gente de Tronadora. La comunicación con Irene fue excelente, nos ayudó con muchas recomendaciones valiosas. Ofrecen la posibilidad de contratar desayuno y lo recomendamos porque estaba delicioso!

This has been my favorite Airbnb since I have been in CR. I absolutely loved it! We will remember our time on the farm fondly. The view is something indescribable. The open air kitchen was awesome! The bed is super comfy. The steep drive up is a little rough but we made it with a small standard auto rental. I can not recommend this Airbnb enough. Xinia is a beautiful human and I wish I had been able to spend more time with her.

We really enjoyed our time in Monteverde. The location is exactly as pictured. The view of the mountains is incredible! And it is a very peaceful location, but only 15 minutes into town. Yamileth was helpful and met us when we arrived to ensure we knew which drive and how to locate the parking. I would recommend this location to anyone considering the Monteverde area.

Our stay at Rancho Montecito was beyond amazing. The accommodation is second to none, and the views from it are incredible and emotional; from the peace of the morning with the birds singing, to the exhilarating theatre of dramatic thunderstorms. The forest walk, ending at a stream with a green meadow beyond it, was beautiful, and the herds of white Brahman/Nelore cattle were striking against the jungle background. We love that this is a ‘no-kill’ farm. Debbie was welcoming and went out of her way to ensure that we had the best experience possible not only of her ranch, but also of the whole area. Her story of finding the farm, and the vision she had for it, was mesmerizing. Using her immense knowledge of fauna and flora, she poured her energy into it and molded it into the truly amazing place it is now. Thank you so much, Debbie, for such a unique and magical experience. We truly felt we made a lifelong friend from pretty much the moment we met you, and we can’t wait to return.

We’ve stayed at some cool places over the years, but Casa Del Mono is one of my all-time favorites. It’s a perfect little getaway for anyone who wants to be close to nature but with all the comforts of home. It’s a very private property sitting way up the side of a mountain with a beautiful courtyard and hiking trails right out the front door. You simply cannot beat the view, and waking up to a chorus of birds like toucans, oropendolas, and tanagers was incredible (bring your binoculars)! The house itself is beautiful and well-equipped with everything you need. The kitchen is fully stocked, the bed is comfortable, and the shower/tub are gorgeous. It was everything we were hoping for in a Costa Rican stay, and I hope we get to visit again soon!

We had an amazing stay here! The location was easy to find and not too far from the airport. There were definitely lots of local stores and restaurants to visit near by. We recommend Resturante Ross! The views especially early morning were amazing overall we have no complaints. Our favorite part was visiting the farm animals! Oscar was so nice and welcoming.

This was our 2nd stay at Casa Mar Y Selva and obviously we loved it enough to return in 3 months. It has an amazing view and wildlife is abundant. First day of our stay we literally didn't sit down much because we were up taking photos. We sat on the patio daily from 6am til sunset enjoying our surroundings, Relaxing and peaceful. Nicole is the TOPS when it comes to communicating and hosting. Always kind and friendly and shares with us local knowledge. Hope to return again soon. Thanks for everything.

We enjoyed Caroline's Pool Villa to the utmost. The peaceful and private environment surpassed our expectations. The house had all the things you need to have a comfortable, if not luxurious stay. Going to the shops and beaches of Tamarindo takes only a short drive, but we opted to spent most of our time in and around the house and the fantastic pool. Both of us have an inkling that we must come back one day :-) Peter & Jimma

El lugar bonito,fácil de llegar, camino bien para todo tipo de carro. La casa impecable y con todo lo necesario para dormir bien, cocinar y salir del ruido de la ciudad pero no tan lejos. La vista lindísima, el clima frío pero la casa por dentro no se pasa frío, hay cobijas, aire caliente, agua caliente. Fuimos 5 personas dormimos bien, usamos la parrilla, estaba en perfecto estado, nos regalaron huevitos para el desayuno ya que tienen gallinas. El señor muy amable y atento Responden rápido y dan bien las indicaciones Definitivamente un lugar donde pensamos volver y el precio lo vale🫶

We stayed here for a week, everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As said by many already, the view is incredible, very peaceful and relaxing property. The house was very clean, beds comfortable, and all of the outdoor furniture was great as well. Our stay was towards the end of dry season so it was very hot so the pool was great to lounge in and cool off every day. The drive up the hill to the house was daunting at first but after the first go it was really nothing, we didn't have issues with a standard SUV rental. We saw lots of howler monkeys, iguanas, lizards and the daily overhead parakeet fly-by around dinner time. Jonathan and Kevin were very helpful onsite, great guys, we appreciated all their help and overall friendliness. Great property, close to Samara and a hard to beat view, would highly recommend this rental. Thanks for everything.

Es un lugar acogedor, donde las cuatro familias que fuimos tuvimos oportunidad de estar juntas pero resguardando la privacidad de cada una ya que los cuartos permitieron mantener esa distancia, al tiempo que la cocina y la sala de estar acogían el compartir La atención de los anfitriones IMPECABLE, la pasamos genial.

Laura and Verny are wonderful hosts. We were very grateful that they opened their beautiful home to us. From the moment we walked into the house, we felt like we were walking into our own home. Laura had everything in her kitchen that I needed to cook and bake for my family. The views surrounding their home are breathtaking. Verny and Laura were very respectful to our privacy and made sure that we had everything we needed. We highly recommend staying at this AirB&B the next time you visit this beautiful country. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at LapaLuna. The host was very responsive and helpful. The accommodations were comfy. We did have a lot of insects but that’s to be expected. We fell in love with our feline companion. The bikes were very useful and we used them daily! Matias was friendly and even did a load of our laundry. The electricity did go out for awhile with no knowledge and the hot water in the shower did as well. All came back on its own. It would be nice if there were bigger floats in the pool. Overall great stay and will definitely return!
