Enter with your passcode and you'll be welcomed by the parlor’s 10-foot ceilings. Your river view, two-bedroom suite, shower/bath and laundry are up the stairs. This landmark home was built in 1875 and is named for Captain Eric Johnson, a Swedish immigrant and riverboat pilot. The kitchenette has a microwave, mini fridge, hot pot and coffee maker. Located under the bridge behind the historic Worker’s Tavern this really is a piece of old time Astoria! I was excited about the location with easy access to town and the beaches of Hammond and Seaside a short dive away. I stayed for 4 nights and having a full sized well stocked kitchen was a great help in managing meals and not always needing to go out to eat. The noise from the bar wasn’t too much of a problem for me, but it is something to be aware of if you’re sensitive or a light sleeper.

Its a great place to stay if you are just staying a night or two. Not everyone loves a shared bathroom experience, but they were still very private and very clean! Only complaint is the walls are kind of thin so you can hear people walking around, but that comes with the territory of an old building so just bring earplugs. Great place to stay, would highly recommend!
