Extraordinary, Off-Grid Donegal Cottage

IvoRating, 5 stars8 months ago
We spent a wonderful week in Roland's cottage. It was a perfect off-grid getaway at the end of the world, with the stunning Donegal coast right on the door step, and only the sheep as company. We managed to see just a fraction of the things this stunning part of the world has to offer, so we will be back. Even though we expected to spent the week by the firestove with books, the weather in mid October was great, always changing, with much more sunshine than we hoped for. Highly recommended!

Cosy cottage & amazing views on Wild Atlantic Way

SheetalRating, 5 stars8 months ago
This is the perfect place for a completely relaxing getaway. The house is gorgeous, and the views from the upstairs living area in particular are stunning. It's only a short walk down to the closest beach, but there is so much to discover within an hour's drive and we had some really wonderful days out. Colm's recommendations were so helpful for this, and he was happy to give us advice to help make the most of our time in Donegal. If you're looking for somewhere to wind down and spend time in the great outdoors, look no further than Lakeview Cottage.

Sandville Chalet

FionaRating, 5 stars6 days ago
We had been to this area a few years ago and thought Narin beach was one of the most beautiful beaches ever seen. We were lucky to come across Julie and Paul's Chalet, and couldn't believe our luck that it was available! Very cosy, well cared for and just as stated 2 mins from beach, 2 mins from pub!!

Fantastic weekend away to a beautiful home, in peaceful surroundings. The place was spotless and really spacious for the whole family. Selection of board games available for my kids to play and a lovely welcome pack with tea and coffee to enjoy (and the kids loved the Easter egg treat!). We felt right at home. We had some lovely runs and walks up to Bonny Glen and the nearby beach was just beautiful. Wonderful hosts, would highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

Viewpoint House

SusanRating, 5 stars9 months ago
I doubt you can find a place with more stunning views. Annie's house is on a long point and is in one of the most beautiful locations. 3 bedrooms, a big kitchen as well as a large lounge. The shower was good. I would suggest bringing in drinking water as the local water does have a taste that you might not like for drinking cold. The nearest town of Ardara was lovely and we very much enjoyed our 3 night stay. Annie was out of town but she was in contact via messages and had great suggestions for us which we enjoyed very much.

Tailors Cottage in Donegal

Maghera - don't pronounce the 'g' ;-) - is a lovely place between the sea and the mountains. A walk on the beach, climbing a mountain pass by bike, it's all possible from the door of the cottage. It's also the ideal base to visit Donegal: mountain walk on Mount Errigal and Sleave League, city visit Derry, Donegal Castle, Ardara - don't pronounce the middle 'a' :-), swimming at Narin beach and lots more, far too much to visit and do in our 9 days in Maghera. Don't forget to visit the pubs! It's really nice to talk to Kathy and her sister, They know everything about the area, hiking trails, the Celtic language... In fact, when you look at the pictures, it's all even more beautiful in real life, both the cottage as the surroundings. We're really thinking about going back to the same place soon! Last little thing... The Irish, really a friendly people. When they say FÁILTE, they mean it!
