Cottage holiday rentals in Dare County

We loved this place! Great vibe, clean, came with two bikes that we enjoyed riding to the sound and back (as well as Front Porch Coffee). The hot tub was amazing and relaxing. Notable that the bathroom downstairs has its own entrance that is not connected to the bedroom down there. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Would stay at this house again and highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a cute little oasis that is very centrally located.

Very secluded and peaceful. Wish the weather had been better throughout our stay but it was very nice to wake up to the sound of the waves and nature. I will say if you have a toddler to make sure to take a safety gate. He made it a challenge wanting to climb the stairs so we went out to buy some for our stay. WiFi is spotty (which is a good thing) but I didn’t realize none of my messages were sent until this morning. My husband and son enjoyed some fishing and caught a few stingrays. I would love to go back later in the year.

Another fantastic Spring Break at the Best Box! The nicest, cleanest, most relaxing rental we’ve ever found. Didn’t think the property could be any better than it was last year, but the owners have managed to make many creative and thoughtful upgrades. Enjoyed days at the beach, days on the sound, chartered a boat for fishing, ate tons of seafood, and saw the best sunsets right from the deck. Literally took advantage of everything in this house - from crabbing to fishing to baggo to flying kites to playing board games to darts and foosball. Oh and kayaking, relaxing in the hammock, and tubing, too.

We love staying at Donald’s Duck! This was our second stay and we think this place is just so cute and cozy. Our favorite place is the beautifully lit pool area. It’s a short walk to the beach. The indoor space is beautiful and clean. Mark is a very responsive and helpful host! We love the proximity to the shops and restaurants.

Absolutely phenomenal stay at Andrew’s place. From the moment we booked, communication was seamless, and before we even arrived, Andrew kindly let us know we could check in early since the home was available. The check-in instructions were crystal clear, and the house itself was spotless and beautifully maintained. Perfectly nestled just a few short blocks from the beach and overlooking a serene fairway, the location was the best of both worlds, peaceful, private, and quiet, yet just minutes from everything you’d want to explore. Andrew even provided thoughtful local restaurant recommendations, and while we never needed assistance during our stay, it was comforting to know he was only a call away. One unexpected highlight? The pristine hot tub, an absolute treat to sink into after a day packed with beach outings and adventures. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Would return in a heartbeat.

We had such an amazing time here! She was quick to respond and the place was beautiful! The backyard was perfect for our toddler to play in and I really appreciated that there was a baby gate for upstairs. We will definitely be coming back!

This was our second stay at the Flat Top and we will definitely be returning. Dustin was a great host again. The house was in immaculate shape. The big yard for the pups is a huge bonus especially being so close to the beach. Dustin is always very responsive. It feels like a home away from home. Thanks so much for having us again. ♥️

We really enjoyed staying at Chad’s place. It was very clean and comfortable and we felt like we were in a tree house with all the beautiful trees outside the windows. We loved the porches and the close proximity to restaurants and the beach. Chad was very friendly and responsive. We definitely will be staying again.

My family enjoyed the space. It was exactly what we were looking for. It was very clean and gave us a great place to rest or escape the sun. The host had beach chairs and toys in the garage which was a nice surprise. Also between communications over the app and the house book we never had to worry about local recommendations. It was a slam dunk for us!

Beautiful home and just steps to the beach. We would rebook in a heartbeat! Brittany was very responsive and her home policies were fair and simple.

This place was perfect for our group! Mark was great with communication and always quick to respond! Loved that they had all the beach supplies youd need, made our vacation so much less stressful because we didnt have to worry about a thing there. Beach is so close too!

This is a fantastic place to stay! The walk to the beach is so easy and the neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful. The house has everything you need and it is very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and we used the outside grill to cook delicious fish that we got at a great local seafood place. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful location on a quiet dead end street! Just a short walk to the beach all while being surrounded by other wildlife (deer, bunnies, turtles). It’s the best of both worlds! The area is perfect. Not too crowded but if you want to shop or eat, everything is just a short drive away. The kitchen cookware, stove and beach chairs could use updating but definitely not a reason to not stay here. We will definitely be back as our family and pup had a great time! Host was very responsive and friendly!

Great location, only a five minute walk to the beach and you can hear the waves while sitting on the top deck. The house had everything we needed. It was perfectly decorated and very comfortable for lounging after the day's adventures. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our family with dogs, and included a picnic table next to the grill which was perfect for seafood eating. Bikes were great and many other beach necessities for the summer months. Brian provided very detailed instructions and suggestions for restaurants and more. Great place!

This place was great. It was just a 2 minute walk to the private beach access which was never super full. The BNB was big enough for my whole family and my dog! Washer and dryers are always nice to have when staying away from home! It was a quiet neighborhood, but stay off the lady next door’s grass. There were a few restaurants to walk to and stores, not to mention a neat little tackle shop with iced coffee!! Our car actually broke down while staying here, so the walkable things were very convenient. She even let us check in 5 hours early because I got check in time wrong. I would love to stay again!

We enjoyed our stay so much! The space was clean, organized and felt right at home. It’s small and was perfect for My husband and I. The mini fridge had a fantastic freezer so we always had ice for our beach cooler. We loved how it was close to everything we needed while staying on the beach road. Britt and Nicole were quick to respond when we had a small issue with the wifi and had it fixed in less than 12 hours..In a nutshell we loved our stay and i plan on booking next year!

Scooters place is very unique, a peaceful setting and very private, virtually one of a kind. You’re going to love it. It’s warm in the daytime but delightful in the evening and early morning. You’ll hear the sounds of chirping birds and frogs. This is one you don’t wanna miss. There’s just something magical about all those antique surfboards in the loft above you. we are definitely headed back again.

We had a great time!! Jeff was a SUPER host. His communication and details from directions to suggestions on things to do and places to eat were excellent!!! The beach access was really close and not crowded at all. The location is great with stores and restaurants within 5-15 minutes. We enjoyed our morning coffee out on the deck and even got to see the deer out back by the creek. We would gladly rent this cottage again and highly recommend it!!!

We loved staying at The Hideaway! A super cute and cozy spot for us to settle-down, unwind and enjoy our 1 year anniversary trip. It does get a little warm in the secondary room (bedroom) with only one AC unit, but a quick maneuvering of the fans helped cool us down and made things comfortable. 10/10 would definitely stay here again. Ashely was very kind and thoughtful with welcoming “gifts”, ideas, and recommendations. She even provided bikes, beach chairs, parking passes and everything else you could think of. I’ve stayed in a few airBNBs and this one was by far the cutest, most welcoming one yet. Thanks Ashely, you’re a rockstar!

We had a fantastic stay at this house! Just the right size for our family of 5. The location is terrific—a short walk to the beach, park, restaurants, and coffee shops. The grocery store is very close too! There's a wonderful farmer's market on Thursday mornings. The beach has a lifeguard, so I felt ok letting my teenagers go to the beach without us. It's on a quiet street, and we felt safe biking and walking around the neighborhood. The storage area is stocked with chairs, beach umbrellas, bicycles, etc. We will definitely book again!

Her place was perfect for our family of four. The walk to beach was super easy and loved she had all the beach toys for the kids and the cart was super nice to have. Her place was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. Definitely will keep her place in my favorites for when we come down again. She was a great host and she was very easy to communicate with. Thanks again for a great stay!
