Absolutley lovely, the cabin was incredible with gorgeous views and very easy to access. Incredible offerings aswell, and very clean and tidy. Will definatley be staying again and will be recommending to friends and family. 10 out of 10

I had a pleasant stay at Jay's. The place was clean, private, and quiet, with clear instructions provided throughout. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained. Overall, it was a great stay and I’d definitely recommend it!

We had a lovely stay. Everything was clean and well-prepared for our arrival. The atmosphere was very pleasant and peaceful. We were really happy with our stay and would gladly come back again!

Lovely lodge, even more spacious than the photos show! Very clean and plenty of amenities for cooking etc. The lake was peacful and very centrally located for things to do in the area such as bike rides, Conkers, furnace museum etc. A good Coop a few mins walk away and bigger supermarkets a short drive. The bistro on site, run by Joanne did the most amazing brunches and HUGE slabs of homemade cake. I wish we had discovered this before our last day! Highly recommend a meal by the lake side. They do beer and wine too but its only open until 4pm so make the most of it during your stay!

Wonderful short break in John's lovely cabin. Beautiful setting by the river. Loved how everything had been handmade with love which made the cabin cosy and homely. The canoes are great and so relaxing, having a little paddle down the river, the kids loved it. Took a walk to The Bluebell in Hoby for a hearty pub lunch, then back to the cabin where we sat outside till well after dark, toasting marshmallows by the fire and playing Headbandz! Couldn't have asked for a more relaxing family short break away. Thankyou John for your excellent hospitality.

We had a wonderful stay, it was so peaceful and private. We would 100% recommend to anyone to visit! We loved that we could let our dog roam around with the peace of mind that she was safe while we enjoyed the hot tub. James was incredibly helpful and answered all our messages so quickly! We loved that there was a list of things to do and places to eat, it made it so easy for us to narrow down what to do. The shepherds hut itself was spotless and had everything we needed! We loved the added details of coffee and logs for the fire being provided. Thank you so much for an incredible stay!

This is a beautiful, cosy little cottage in a perfect, peaceful location. The cottage is perfect for two (and a dog!) and has everything you could need for your stay. There are so many walks from your doorstep and maps have been provided for excellent local walks. Annette is a brilliant host, going above and beyond during our stay. She is full of information about the area, both before and during our visit, with plenty of recommendations for good places to eat and visit. We visited two of the pubs she recommended and they were fantastic, and dog friendly! (The Black Lion & The Lazy Trout). We absolutely loved our stay and would love to go back soon.

excellent stay at tye cabin. exactly what I needed. 10 mins away in the car from the roaches and 20 mins from dragons back. jocelyn was really kind and helpful. Thanks!! :)

We had such a lovely stay here, the place was private, well presented, neat and tidy. It had everything we needed and was a comfortable home away from home. The little town was also very nice and a short walk to a small village shop and pub. Alison was very friendly and welcoming. Would defnitely stay again if we come back to England.

This is a great cosy place to stay when visiting Matlock. Location 2 mins from centre. The accommodation is very clean and tidy with everything you would need amenities wise and also has its own parking bay opposite. The best compliment I can give is that I would book again.

What a fantastic place to stay. Stunning views, peace and quiet, everything we needed in a perfect little getaway for two! We loved this little shepherd hut. Would definitely consider coming back here in future!

Beautiful little cabin/ tree house. Everything we needed & so much more. Quirky little trinkets everywhere you looked. Loved the Norwegian viking theme. (& the cute little mouse house) We've stayed in some lovely little places & this is definitely one of our favourites. Could really feel the family & the happy memories created there. Just lovely. 🥰 Beautiful garden. Can't wait to return in the summer to enjoy it & have a fire pit etc. Listening to the rain & the toasty fire burning was just as perfect though. A true hidden gem! This off-grid shepherd’s hut is the perfect place to switch off and relax. The hut is absolutely beautiful inside and out- and the wood burner hot tub was incredible! We had an amazing weekend here, it was totally private and just what we wanted. Ideal for anyone needing a proper escape. The extra touches that were included such as mini bottles of bubbly and fresh milk in the fridge just made it. Can’t wait to return- thank you so much!

We had a really lovely stay. The accommodation was perfect for us and our dog, beautifully clean and really well presented. The amount of information about the local area that was provided in the lodge was fantastic and really helped us find our way around. We loved the little welcome hamper and would highly recommend staying here!

Excellent stay at the Shepard’s hut, it’s a cosy and quirky little place.. bed was comfy and the hot tub was great in morning and after a long day. Kate and Nathan were really friendly and helpful it’s also a lovely area . Would highly recommend

Faye was amazing. She let us check out one hour later . I also mentioned it was my birthday and she hung balloons and a happy birthday sign for me, which was such a beautiful and thoughtful gesture. Her place is super amazing. We were surrounded by the most amazing views and she had baby lambs on her farm, which she let us feed with a bottle. It was such an amazing experience.

The Carriage is a really lovely bolthole. Beautiful views across green fields and valleys and so peaceful. The accommodation is very comfortable and extremely well equipped for its size. You do need to be quite flexible to get into bed and the bathroom is very compact. We loved our stay there and would definitely return. Wendy and John are excellent hosts.

What a great place! I booked it last minute as my plans changed & so glad I did. The kitchen is very well equipped - had everything I needed for my stay. Bed was super comfy with lovely bedding. Great outdoor space with decking & table & chairs. Although in the the grounds of their house, it was very private & quiet. Would definitely stay again & recommend.
