Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Derbyshire

We had a lovely, long weekend stay at Chert cottage. Great Longstone is an excellent location, with several pubs within walking distance. Beautiful scenery is on the doorstep, with places like Bakewell and Buxton a short drive away. Sarah was an excellent host - she was very responsive and we really appreciated the cake, milk and flowers on arrival. Chert cottage itself was great - very clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need - we particularly loved sitting out in the garden in the evening! Many thanks Sarah, we had a great time.

The showers (which is what you’ve actually came to read the reviews for) were top-notch—powerful, hot, and exactly what you need after a long day of exploring. Beyond that, the accommodation exceeded all expectations. It was even more spacious than the photos suggested, set within beautiful grounds that provided plenty of room to unwind. The location was ideal, with easy access to stunning walks and local attractions. Oliver was an outstanding host, always quick to respond and incredibly accommodating with all my messages. His attentiveness made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located getaway in the Peak District!

We had an absolutely perfect stay in this lovely house. This is easily the best AirBnB we have ever stayed at. It is comfortable and clean and has everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. Penny was a superb host who was welcoming and helpful. I hope we can stay again if we are ever in the area.

What a lovely cottage! The views were spectacular! My daughters and I took many pictures of the countryside and of the adorable sheep grazing nearby. The cottage was perfect for resting up and refreshing between our trips to the Chatsworth House and Gardens. The house was beautiful, and if possible exceeded our expectations. We were blessed with weather much better than that predicted, and were therefore able to take advantage of the close proximity of the property to Bakewell town, the Monsal Trail and enjoy the views from the patio at the property. We look forward to visiting again.

Our stay was nothing more than amazing . We felt at home and had everything we needed ,Wendy and her husband was fantastic hosts , so friendly and helpful . We was visiting chartwell house and Wendy’s house was a perfect stay over I would 100% recommend staying here .

Great stay at Jack's Place. Very much appreciated the EV charger. Allestree Park was wonderful as was the Red Cow Pub - just around the corner. There is lots to do in this part of England. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Fantastic location, proactive host, a great stay!

Daniel is easily the best host I’ve ever had. We are two American students who moved to Nottingham for school and Daniel made us feel right at home. He provided endless recommendations, brought us anything we needed, checked up on us, and was always available. The apartment quickly became our home. It had all the amenities we needed: washer, dryer, iron, kettle, fireplace, hairdryer, etc. He even stocked toiletries and the like. The couch is great for naps and hanging around. The location is super convenient with a bus stop right by, grocery nearby, etc. Daniel is a friendly host who loves to provide his guests with a great experience. Would stay again 10/10.

Beautiful apartment right in the centre of Castleton! Lots of restaurants/pubs, small convenience shops, and amazing views right on your doorstep. Marieanne was so friendly and always responsive, and the apartment was very clean and comfortable. Definitely will have to visit again next time we’re in Castleton!

I had an absolute incredible experience at Denise’s place, from the moment I arrived, everything was spotless, stylish and thoughtfully prepared. Check-in was easy. The space itself was better than the photos- beautifully decorated and cozy. The bed was super comfy and I appreciated all the little touches that made it feel homely. I couldn’t ask for a better experience and would certainly return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend this little gem for anyone visiting the area.

Only stayed here for one night but it was great. Easy walk to restaurants and shops which were close by. The apartment was clean and tidy with a nice character to it. Definitely worth it fir the money only downside was parking but thats expected for the location.

We were visiting Buxton for 2 shows at the Opera House & the apartment is perfectly placed for this, being just a few minutes walk away, also the Pavilion Gardens and loads of places to eat & drink. Apartment is beautifully furnished and very well-equipped with pretty, sunny little cottage-style garden to front. The main bedroom is lovely, really comfortable bed. Our friend stayed in the basement bedroom and did comment that it was cold BUT he was very warm and comfortable once in bed. Wish we had stayed longer, if only to take advantage of the huge selection of dvds and books 😊. Thankyou, Heather, Kim and Lorna for a really great (too short) stay.

I spent 5 nights at the property whilst visiting my daughter in Derby My journey into town was about 30 minutes but we discovered lovely restaurants locally in Melbourne and Willington and we visited Mercia Marina again which is a favourite of ours The property is a first floor flat in a converted stable block within grounds of the house and tucked away behind the main business. It is very much in the countryside so I had to be quite organised bringing in provisions as I cooked for myself in the evening but all the kitchen amenities that I needed were there it’s beautifully peaceful and a very unusual set up ,being in a converted stable as to be expected, due to them running a furnishing business., the decor was beautifully coordinated with a lovely bumblebee and March hare theme running through all the decor. The host replied quickly to any queries I had ,which I was most grateful for  Thank you for a lovely stay

Had an amazing time at Holmdene in the Peak District. was perfectly located for all the walking and trips/tours we wanted to do in Castleton. Charlotte & Stuart were wonderful hosts who greeted us warmly on arrival and Charlotte gave us a detailed chat on all the walks we could do tho we didn't get to experience all of them in our short stay due to weather. We had a lovely evening in the pod with friends and we felt very at home in the apartment which was spotless and well equipped for all our needs and we would highly recommend Holmdene to anyone looking to stay in Castleton. we will definitely be back for more visits.
