Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Essex

Keith was super responsive and a great host! We came up with our baby for a wedding at the Essex. The amenities at his property were great and the location was 5 minutes from the Essex. His guidebook was excellent with great local recommendations.

We were only a short guest at Abigail's, but we enjoyed it very much. The apartment had everything you need, was very spacious and clean. Communication with Abigail worked very well. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Erika was so responsive, friendly, and helpful! She knows I traveled with an 8 year old so she prepared some chicken treats and left at the door as a surprise to let my daughter have some feeding fun. She also helped us set up the fire for my daughter to do the s'more. She shared the fresh eggs with us as well! When I notice some condiments were short, she sent them right away! The house is big having plenty of room to enjoy. Outside was huge to take a walk and to explore. My daughter could have fun inside and outside by herself. We love Erika and we love this house. My daughter told me this was her favorite house ever and wants to come back soon! Highly recommended!

Wow, this place was a stunning find for us. Quite simply a peaceful wooded oasis with a breathtaking view of Lake Champlain. The house is clean, spacious, and accommodating. The little things like toys for our son, the pool table, and Adirondack chairs made us feel right at home. We enjoyed taking the Plattsburgh Ferry to Vermont, playing badminton in the yard, watching the sunrise on the porch, and cooking in the spacious kitchen. Marco was an incredible host and we will definitely stay again at this lovely house.

Absolutely loved staying here!!! Using this space as a get ready location for a wedding was the perfect venue for that! We got married just up the street and it worked out so so so well. Absolutely beautiful spot and the airbnb was bigger than it looked in the photos so we were all so comfortable and not cramped on top of each other! Thank you so so much again, we appreciate this all so much!! ❤️

Absolutely fantastic stay! The property was exactly as described—spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The location was perfect: quiet and peaceful, but still close to everything we needed. The host was incredibly responsive, friendly, and made check-in super easy with clear instructions. We especially appreciated the little extras like the hot tub, grill, fire pit and seats by the water. We felt right at home and would 100% stay here again. Highly recommend!

Kim was a great host, very responsive and helpful while knowing when we needed our space/privacy. Even though there were others in the house during our stay, we never saw them. The space was a great value and close to Bolton and Stowe, and also UVM for a college visit. The pellet stove kept us warm while we hunkered down during the snowstorm day. Note that the house is at the end of a long, windy drive that can get icy in spots, so if snow is expected during your stay, you'll need AWD. No joke. The only things I might wish were different would be for there to be a microwave available in the rented space (there's one available in the kitchen but a separate one for renters would have been a nice convenience), for there to be an actual door to the climbing-wall bedroom instead of a curtain, and for the main bedroom mattress to be softer (it was quite firm).

Family of 5 on our first ski trip to Smugglers. The home and property was amazing. Steven was a great host and communicated well. We enjoyed the views and the fireplace the most. As mentioned in the description there is a caretaker/renter that lives above the garage and he was very nice and made sure to see if we had any issues getting down the driveway because it had just snowed 6-8 inches. He said he would make sure the driveway was plowed and just a short while later it was cleared and cleared for the remainder of the stay. It was a great experience.

My husband and I only stayed 2 nights at Carson's apartment, but it was exactly as described, very clean and looked like the pictures posted. Beautifully decorated and had everything you could need in the cute little kitchen. The bed was comfortable and there were even extra chargers in the bedroom. The mini split heat in the apartment was nice, as it was raining and cold our first night. The location is ideal - quiet neighborhood but short drive to downtown.

Great stay!! Lovely and very unique place. We brought our 2 girls (3 and 1) and had plenty of room for everyone. Funky decor, thoughtful touches, comfy beds, full kitchen. Small shower but plenty of hot water and good pressure. Very walkable to the main square in Winooski which has plenty of restaurants/bars/breweries. Just a 10 minute drive to central Burlington. James was SUPER fast to respond any time we chatted. Simple check in and check out. Would recommend!!

I was in the area for work and needed a cozy clean place for a few days. Molly's listing was a great inexpensive place in a sweet little town that offered everything I needed. If you're looking for a comfortable spot to rest your head, this is a wonderful spot.

Small but has a fully equipped kitchen, other than the only sink is in the bathroom. The sink is big and it worked fine. The park is 1/2 block away and town is 2 blocks. Comfortable bed and quiet at night. Good restaurants and unique shops in town. Lots of nature trails close by. Be mindful of having the key it could be easy to get locked out. We enjoyed our time in the apartment and definitely would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Bristol. Thanks for sharing your place with us.

Had a great stay—exactly what I was looking for. The place was extremely quiet, very clean, and easy to access. It felt cozy and calming from the moment I arrived. The bed was super comfortable—probably one of the best I’ve slept on. Overall, a peaceful and comfortable experience. Would definitely stay again.

This was the perfect location for visiting Burlington - everything was like a 10 min walk from the Airbnb! We parked on the street and basically left the car there for the majority of our trip. The place itself was more spacious than I had thought - a perfect amount of room for two people. Our hosts were very kind and helpful. The only thing we didn’t love was the shower because we were too tall for it lol. Otherwise would def stay again!

Jonathan was an amazing host! The place was so clean, comfortable, lots of extra towels/linens. The kitchen was well stocked and immaculate. Lots of space to spread out with our group of friends. The master bedroom had a crib which was nice for our 1 year old. The only thing was the area was a bit sketchy…my brother-in-law’s handicap van got shot with a pellet gun by some dumb teens driving by. Smashed his whole side window which was not great. Police came out and took a report. Unfortunately, that could happen anywhere but I did feel a little unsafe after that. But the house itself was nice. Huge backyard. Would stay here again! Just wouldn’t park on the street lol.

Great place - suited are needs perfectly. Dave responded instantly for a minor question. Very clean and well stocked amenities. Would recommend.

My husband and I stayed in National at 1854 House and we loved it! It was exactly as described, and Sarah was a terrific host. Everything was very clean, she was quick to respond, left detailed instructions about all the unit had to offer, and even gave us some local recommendations. The bed was comfortable, the view was great, and the swing in the living room was a wonderful extra touch. The location was perfect for exploring all of northern Vermont. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip. We would absolutely stay in National again. Definitely recommend!

Great place to stay. Beautiful walking trails and very peaceful in the off season. Enjoyed the over the mountain ride into Stowe each morning.

I just want to say I was very pleased about the rapid response I had gotten from him. The place was clean and relaxing like home . I will back next time I visit Vermont ! Kim.

Want to stay in the heart of the town/Stowe? This is the place! Your own designated parking spot. Very close to many eating/drinking establishments...did I say VERY close? Sure, this may equate to as mentioned low-level early-morning sounds from the Bakery/Cafe below so simply rise and shine or pack accordingly! I didn't mind it at all and even if I did, one bite of their maple syrup croissant and all is forgiven! Affordable and Jesse's refund "peace of mind" policy were surely deal makers. BTW, The Black Cap Coffee & Bakery folks and their offerings rule! Actual DARK ROAST coffee...I made sure to purchase a bag of those beans to take home. The restaurant directly out our bathroom window, Cork, was superb in all aspects. Glad we decided to go there the first night.

My husband and I loved our stay at the slopeside condo. The chair lift is right next to the condo for easy ski access (AMAZING skiing btw). Inside, the condo is so clean and cozy. Emily (the co-host) was very nice and responsive with great local restaurant recommendations. We're already thinking of coming back next year!

The Bunker was extremely clean, comfortable and had everything I needed for a peaceful getaway. I liked that I could walk to the recreation path, shops and restaurants.

Fantastic place to stay just north of Burlington! Colchester was beautiful and this condo is so close to the bike paths and causeway. Beautiful spot!

Great stay! Would definitely like to stay here again. Hosts were great at being in touch and at nice details such as fresh flowers and cinnamon rolls. Comfortable beds and living room. Excellent neighborhood. Do need a car to get to restaurants and stores. All around great rental.
