Shinano Omachi, where the "forest house" is located at the foot of the Hakuba Valley, is a town where you can experience nature all year round.In spring, you can see the peaks of vegetables, mountain cherry blossoms and snow-capped peaks, climbing and trekking in the Northern Alps, camping in the valley in the summer, and enjoying snow sports every day with access to the nearest ski resort in the winter and 30 minutes to Hakuba. It's really nice not only to walk outdoors, to the historic town, to relax in the lake and cafes overlooking the lake and mountains, go to the hot springs, or take a 20-minute walk to the mountains and the whole town on foot, it's really nice to spend time in the morning! We are an American-Japanese couple that are happy to share our onsen town Togura-Kamiyamada with visitors curious about the Japanese countryside. You can relax wearing yukata robes in your private tatami mat rooms and enjoy the hot spring mineral baths rich in sulfur content. (The onsen baths are tattoo-friendly.)
