Secluded Cabin a Stone's Throw From the A.T.!

ZoeRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The day of our check-in, a big storm knocked out the power to this AirBnb. We didn't arrive until after Mountain Mama's regular hours but I was able to immediately reach someone by calling their urgent issues line. The two people I spoke to were super nice and knowledgeable about the property, helping me locate the breaker to check to see if the power had just been tripped. Once we confirmed that the power was out from the storm, they gave me the power company's estimated time for restoral and even updated me again later that night. Unfortunately, the power still wasn't back by the next morning; as soon as I let them know, Mountain Mama offered to transfer our reservation to another location nearby. They even checked the internet there to make sure the power was on. The transfer was quick and painless and at no additional charge. Honestly some of the best customer service we've ever experienced through AirBnb, would definitely recommend them and stay with them again!

A-Frame Cabin in Harpers Ferry with Hot Tub

SusanRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Herry is responsive right away for any questions you may have. What we appreciate the most about this lovely home is the cleanliness. It is not only clean but decorated very nicely. Just a beautiful place. The hot tub was very clean which is so nice, this is probably the cleanest we have ever had, ever. That means a lot! And it is completely private from the neighbors. We also enjoyed the string lights on the patio, the protection screen was fun to watch re-runs of Friends on a rainy night, and the couch is so comfortable! Loved that there is a bedroom on the main level. We had everything we needed. It was easy to get inside, well lit. Nice peaceful quiet neighborhood. We will be back to visit again. Thank you Herry!

Aslan's How - Cabin with Valley Views & Hot Tub!

LindaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Great homey mountain cabin with very detailed and clear instructions for everything. Host was responsive to all questions. Check out chores included stripping beds, emptying fridge, bagging trash, dishes loaded in the dishwasher and started. I generally do these things (other than stripping the beds) in all places I stay, but I know some people dislike having to do them, so thought I would mention it.

~New~Hot Tub~Outdoor Shower~ Fire Pit~10 Acres

BryanRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Great place to stay in the middle of the woods. Everything from check in, to the stay, to check out was great. The house was truly unique, with the colonial front of the house. The kitchen was fully stocked, and we were pleased there was a Keurig machine and regular coffee pot. The hot tub was great and we loved the secluded location (we saw 2 cars on the road the whole weekend). Towels, linens, and furniture were all great. My wife talked about taking our kids to the same house in the future to do fun things in Loudon County.

This was a wonderful place for our family of 5 to unplug and spend quiet time together. We cooked out and explored the area. We had s’mores over the fire pit each night and it was easy to fall sleep in the comfortable beds!

Treetop Mountain Retreat- Almost Heaven

ClareRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My significant other and I cannot say enough how thrilled we were with our stay in Shannondale. The view of the mountains from the deck was unbeatable, including a direct view of the sunsets. The cabin had every amenity that we could have asked for (and that we forgot to bring ourselves)! The comfort of the bed exceeded expectations, and I slept better here than in my bed at home. The hosts were very responsive, proactively sending instructions via the Airbnb app for check in and check out. I would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with a view.

West Virginia Rustic Mountain Retreat Cabin

AlexanderRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Extremely private and rustic. Some desires left when it came to amenities, namely being able to take longer showers. Some uncleanliness and lackluster pest control is excused as "part of the experience." That being said, hosts are super helpful and wonderful to interact with. The location was fairly remote and private, great for people who want to take a weekend off to clear their mind. There's access to hiking and a small pond, plus other outdoor activities.

Hilltop Retreat

WilliamRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay! We loved the location because it was secluded, peaceful, and less than 20 minutes from two entrances to the AT. The place was very nice! It had a beautiful view, a large yard for the kids to play in, and a nice fire pit. Would love to stay here again!

Harpers Ferry Potomac River View Cabin 3

NinaRating, 5 stars12 months ago
Very nice cabin right on the Potomac river with river access for swimming, fishing, canoeing etc. Great amenities as listed. I will just say that the nearby train comes around more frequently than expected which can be loud/tough if you’re traveling with your pup. Also, the zip line ends literally right behind the cabin which can be a bit noisy and awkward when attempting to sit/relax out in the back. Otherwise it has great proximity to nearby parks/trails/attractions and overall is a nice campsite.

Harpers Ferry Cabin - Walk to Private Lake!

KateRating, 5 stars7 months ago
The house was as described, large and spacious and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the grandkids loved the bunk beds! The views were beautiful and it was nice to have a fenced in yard to let the dog and kids outside to play. We had no issues and would stay here again.

I have stayed at vacation rentals all over the US and Gary’s place was exceptional! Very very clean and exactly as presented. I wish all owners would follow Gary’s lead on how to properly be an Airbnb owner. Great job!

Cozy Riverfront Cabin

AlexRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Only two issues we had was there is no microwave (which isnt that bad) and the neighbor would let their mildly aggressive golden retriever out whenever we were outside. They made very little effort to control it. But this problem has nothing to do with this property. The property was a great stay. Would recommend.

Antietam Retreat at Blue Haven

KarenRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Lovely location, down a semi-private drive, surrounded by nature, and with a very responsive host. A few things for the prospective AirBnber to note: 1) Only a mini-fridge is available for you. The host keeps the main fridge for personal use. I didn't realize this until kind of late in the game. 2) Parking is not far but also maybe 25 yards? away. If you have a lot of stuff (hopefully not food you are trying to put in the mini-fridge) or are not able-bodied, it could be a bit difficult. 3) There is just a railing that separates the second floor drop from the first floor. If you have small kids of poor judgment, I would not recommend letting them up there! 4) Not recommended to drink the tap water, also disclosed a little late. 5) There is a pump or fan or some kind of mechanized noise running constantly from the porch which makes it a little hard to focus on the quiet sounds of the koi pond. If there is a way to turn this off or down it wasn't obvious!

Lakefront Log Cabin w/ Dreamy Waterfront Patio!

SherryRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The cabin was amazing and we loved the slate dock patio down by the water. One suggestion for you would be steps or a walkway down to the patio by the water. When it rains it is very slick and I did slip and fall. I'm ok, just a little sore. Another suggestion would be a TV down stairs for young adults, it would be a great addition to that living space. A final suggestion would be a washer and dryer. We got wet several times on the lake and it would have been nice to dry our cloths in a dryer. Thank you Mountain Mama for a fantastic relaxing retreat and for your great communication and flexibility. We will definitely be renting your cabin again in the future.

Hillside Hideaway

ErickaRating, 5 stars3 days ago
My weekend at Hillside Hideaway was absolutely wonderful. The decor in every room was warm and inviting, while also being sophisticated. In addition to all the advertised amenities, there were pleasant surprises like adjustable beds and a towel warmer. The terrace was just lovely, and designed to that you could enjoy the trees all around from various seating areas. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked and included individually-sized water and milk, coffee, and tea. Then there were the little touches that made a big difference. I especially loved the soaking tub, which came complete with a bamboo bath tray, and was near a table with bubble bath, electric candles, and craft soaps. There's so much to praise. Great book collection! Nice artwork! Feeling secluded despite being a short walk from everything! I'm already looking forward to going back.
