Family-friendly holiday rentals in Kahaluu-Keauhou

Wendy’s place was amazing for us. We loved watching the surfers in the morning while we drank our coffee. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great! One day we took an uber to the beach and used the chairs and umbrella. They were great! My husband is a larger man and fit nicely in their beach chairs. Another thing to note is there location. It’s walkable to town but down the road so you get that peace and quiet. We had an amazing time and would recommend staying here!

So glad we picked this place for our family of 4. we really appreciated the beach chairs and boogie board, and the kids found plenty to watch on tv. Magic Sands beach is right across the street, with plenty of sand and powerful waves.

We loved staying here! The location was close to many things in the Kona area. The dedicated parking spot made it easy to come and go. The mini-split AC was quiet and kept the place cool. The in-unit laundry was great too.

It is beautiful condo with great amenities! They provide everything that you could need. They have thought about everything so that your stay can be no stress and enjoyable. We will stay again in the future when we return to the Big Island.

We had a great time in Michael’s condo. The complex itself could use a bit of updating, but the location of Michael’s unit and the lanai were amazing. Michael had clearly thought of everything guests might need. We made good use of the cooler, chairs, umbrella and boogie boards. We didn’t do serious cooking, but there was everything we could have wished for to accommodate our minimal prep breakfasts and dinners. Air conditioners in The bedroom and living room were great options for keeping things cool, but my preferred way was to keep the sliding doors to the lanai open and use the fans both in the lanai and in the living room area to keep cool air moving. The pool and hot tub were nice to have a few times over a week, but mostly we were in or near the ocean.

Our family of four had a wonderful time at Rebecca’s place. The condo is conveniently located and only a few minutes drive to shopping areas and restaurants and a small farmer’s market. Rebecca is a great host, communicates proactively giving me clear instructions on everything needed for the stay. She responds my text quickly. The condo has a great pool and ocean view. Owner pays attention to the details-all the switches are labeled and house is fully loaded with all the paper supplies, kitchen utensils, and toiletries and many other items to make our stay feel like home. Thank you!

Wonderful stay, very accommodating even for short trips!

We adored staying in the Treetop getaway - I wish we could have stayed longer! The space was well-organized, the kitchen was well-stocked, and the outdoor seating was so lovely in the mornings! The beach gear that we borrowed for the day was amazing!! We felt so cozy and relaxed in this spot -- and the hosts are super friendly.

We had a great stay. Our kitty had a great time watching the birds and hunting for geckos. The location was perfect and the unit had everything we needed. Rosalba was the best host we have ever had, helping us out with a last minute change in our stay. She communicated with us regularly and everything was very clear. We stayed at this unit 3 years ago when we first landed on island. It was a perfect place for us as we waited to get our home to set up.

Can't say enough great things about this house and Tony. I've never had a host as communicative, that truly goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need to have the best vacation possible. The location of the home is perfect for us, quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle, but close enough to still be able to participate in a variety of activities. We will have no hesitation on staying here again, in the future.

Genuinely fantastic. The location up on the mountan was lush, cool, and beautiful. It was everything we wanted. The house was large, open and comfortable. We loved listening to the coqui frogs at night. Really, I cannot overstate how absolutely lovely and peaceful the property is. There is a fantastic coffee plantation just around the corner, and we also enjoyed hiking the forest reserve trail nearby. Food, shopping, etc... is not actually far away either. The house is the perfect sweet spot. Coming back to the coolness of the mountain after the warmth of the coast every day was amazing.

Our stay was absolutely delightful, largely thanks to the breathtaking views and convenient location. Being so close to both the airport and the beach made travel and leisure incredibly easy. The comfortable bed ensured restful nights, and the host's warm welcome truly made us feel at home. We were especially touched by her generosity in providing fresh eggs and fruit. A highlight of our trip was undoubtedly relaxing in the hot tub and soaking in the stunning scenery.

Our family of five adults and two toddlers had a wonderful week staying in Susan’s beautiful home. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and many lovely places to gather. The kids loved the big yard and we all enjoyed the snorkeling gear, sand toys, coolers, and other beach amenities so kindly provided. We cooked meals in the large kitchen, played games, sat on the wrap around porch to watch the sunset over the ocean. We also really enjoyed the small village of Holualoa just up the road with its many galleries, charming shops, pop up bakery and coffee stand. There’s even a nice restaurant for drinks and or dinner.

Beth was a terrific hostess! She always responded warmly to us. Her home and lanai are amazing! And the EASY walk to Manini Beach was the huge cherry on top. Thank you Beth for the use of all the beach toys and snorkel gear!!

Jan and Cami were very nice to deal with. Their condo is in an amazing location. They thought of everything to make their guests comfortable. Very well organized space. It was clean and inviting.

Kirk was a great host, super responsive and flexible. His place was clean and tidy, and had everything we needed. The location is super walkable to the downtown strip.

Although this is a unit right below the host’s home, it fell very private and peaceful. The ground and view are amazing.

Part of a condo group, next to (unpretentious) Beaches restaurant - which locals stated was "the best in Kona" - and only steps away from Magic Sands Beach. View out the double wide slider was to clear ocean surf, full of yellow tang and black trigger fish visible in most swells. There is no A/C but the fans (there were 5 but we really only need the two large ceiling fans) kept it very comfortable.) This was April and daytime temperatures were low 80's. All in all a very nice place hanging out or as a home base. Great location for Kona and the beaches north. About .1 mile to La'aloa St, which takes you up to Hwy 11 (bypass highway for north or south travel. I recommend for a group of 2.

Jenna’s place was beautifully designed and in a great location. She paid attention to details and the condo had everything needed!

Loved staying here! It was so nice to have the pool and tennis courts when we wanted to chill close to home. We could easily walk out to a small beach to watch the sunset and we walked the half mile to the larger public beach for some awesome snorkeling and surfing! It was a great place for us to stay and explore the Kona side of the island. Our hosts were very helpful and the place had everything we needed. Mahalo!

Such a great spot for our time in Kona! It was amazing to have amenities such as bikes, snorkel gear, beach chairs and coolers available for use.

Ever since Covid, we prefer our own place & pool for the safety of our grandchildren. This place was perfect!!!! Just our family! Loved every moment!
