This unique and peaceful retreat makes it easy to relax in the midst of pure nature. The cottage is located in a small village in the middle of the Lapland wilderness. Here, you can go skiing, snowshoeing, and fishing. In addition, we organize snowmobile trips according to your wishes. The cottage is about 75km to the city of Rovaniemi. Ice fishing trip on Lake Niesi 40€ per person, 1-2 hours. Ice fishing trip by snowmobile 90€ per person. Snowmobile safari 90€ per person 2h. You can book by message.

Welcome to Piilopirtti, an atmospheric log cabin in the Arctic Circle, on the shore of Lake Kemijärvi, 7 km from Suomutunturi. The cottage is located on a large lot and offers sweeping views of the lake and dangerous landscapes. From the village you can take the castle to a stunning sandy beach. Ski trails on Suomutunturi. But you can go skiing on the lake from the yard. For the fisherman, Kemijärvi offers abundant catches. The berries are waiting for pickers right around the corner from the house.

You won’t find IKEA or “sad beige” decor here, but rather charming vintage character and playful details. Within an hour’s reach, you can visit the ski resorts of Pyhä and Suomu, or the attractions of Rovaniemi, such as Santa Claus Village. Yet after a day in the crowds, you’ll love returning to your peaceful lakeside retreat.

Glamping in Aurora Igloo

Experience our unique Aurora igloo. Clamping near the city centre but still next to the forest. See and feel the frost around you but enjoy the warmness of the real fire and down blanket. Enjoy Lapland! We have only one igloo in our garden and it is one of a kind! You may also use the garden around for winter fun activities. We have sledges and shuffles for your use. There is no jacuzzi/hot tub or sauna available in this accommodation I am afraid.

Forrest starts just outside the premises so leave the noise and lights of the city behind and come to enjoy the peace and quiet. Some of our reindeers live by the courtyard, we have winter walking track nearby forest and a perfect location for spotting the northern lights.
