Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Kilkenny

This is our second visit to Weavers Cottage.. The cottage is light, airy and warm. The furnishing and fixing are all of a high standard. The cottage has every amenity you could need. It is 5 minutes from the centre of the village and the river. There are many beautiful walks from the village and nearby. Mary is a warm and welcoming host. She kindly leave basic provision to see you through your first night at the cottage. When I suffered toothache she helped us find a local emergency dentist. I cannot praise Mary or her cottage enough.

We stayed at Donals place for 2 nights at a reasonable cost. We loved the tranquility of the place. very spacious, very clean and all the essentials provided. parking just outside the door, very safe. The local information regarding places of interest, places to eat / drink etc were first class. We met with Donal after arriving and found him to be a friendly and charming man, nothing was too much trouble for him. The property is remote, however with a car / bike the nearest village is only a few miles away (L1035). We visited Carrick-on-Suir (6 miles, N24) on Donals recommendation, a large town with all amenities available. Waterford is a car ride away. Overall, a brilliant place. Thank you Donal.

We are a group of seven women interested in walking and culture. Michael's house was perfect for us. It is in a beautiful setting, very rural but 5 minutes drive from Castlecomer and the Discovery park. Around 20 minutes drive to Kilkenny. We had loads of room with nearly everyone having their own bedroom. Great sitting room with plenty of space to hang out. We ate in the hotel in Castlecomer one evening and got a deliery from The Tuk Tuk Wok Barn the other evening which was gorgeous. We even were able to have our breakfast outside on the tables provided. Michael responded immediately with any queries and was very helpful with recommendations for food, taxis etc. Would highly recommend this beautiful farmhouse in beautiful countryside. We will be back.

The old mill was a piece of heaven....Margo was fantastic and met us at the property. The pictures don't do the property justice....it was fantastic! The best equiped BNB with many extra cooking items/spices etc. Excellent communication right from the time we booked our reservations in January until we got to the door in mid June. A short drive to Mooncoin and to Waterford was about 20 minutes. A peaceful and relaxing refuge after a hard day of travelling. Hope to make it back again in the future....this is a must see and must stay while in Ireland.

Absolutely fantastic house and host. We were late arriving but Elizabeth left a key out for us. The milk and sweet treats were very much appreciated after a long day. The house is very easy to find. Very clean and comfortable. The beds were great. Bathroom is lovely and the shower is fantastic. Our favourite part was definitely the summer house. Such a peaceful and comfy place to curl up with a book. Great location. Lots of food options nearby. The discovery park is great especially the mining museum. Very friendly little town too. We wouldn't be the most sociable people but we even attended a coffee morning in the local charity shop and had a great time.

Lovely peaceful location, great accommodation. Kevin was helpful and responsive. Being able to walk into Kilkenny was great.

Lovely home tucked away on a peaceful farm. Majella's home was the perfect relaxing end to our Ireland trip. The host is friendly and informative. Would definitely book with them again.

Beautiful setting, and very peaceful. The kitchen was amazing, and the Wood burning stove was so cosy in the evening. A great hideaway with friends. The roads are very narrow on the way to it, so be cautious

Noreen was a lovely host. She was very responsive and was great to accommodate a late check in. Her annex is cosy, cute and clean. The bed and bedding was so soft and comfortable. Bathroom was lovely and clean. We met Noreen and her daughter when checking in and they were lovely and friendly. Noreen had left bread ham and cheese for us as well and having tea a coffee which was such a lovely touch. There were leaflets with information of things to do in the area and Noreen pointed out that there was a forest walk near the annex also. Would definitely recommend this place for a stay.

The Market Slip House was an amazing stay! It was so centrally located I couldn’t have chosen a better location! Lisa was an amazing host and went out of her way to accommodate us! Will recommend to all friends and family that ever plan on visiting this beautiful little town.

Your recommendation for dinner in Kilkenny was spot on …. and it would be remiss of me to not say a huge thank you to Ted for his welcome & farewell. What a beautiful dog.

We had a great time at Christine’s place! We stayed here while visiting family in Carlow and would definitely stay again next time!! A short walk into town and a couple shops just around the corner. Christine was so helpful and even gave us a lift into town. The washer and dryer in the apartment was very handy after a few days out west and she even stocked the fridge with a few essentials for us. Thanks so much Christine!!

Great place to stay where you can walk to everything.

Wonderful stay. Super comfy and well equipped. Great communication with Julia and we appreciated the lovely breakfast provisions.

This apartment was the perfect location for a visit to Kilkenny - really central so that everything was in walking distance. It was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. My only issue was with the second bedroom - it was tiny, the double sofa bed fitted snugly against 3 walls, and the room had no window. Great communication from Jennifer before our arrival and there was a folder full of information about using the apartment, also suggestions and visits for seeing the city.

Shankill Castle is like staying in living medieval castle with the most gracious of hosts. I cannot thank them enough for making us feel at home. I highly recommend for an u forgettable intellectual and artistic experience. We wish we had more time there to enjoy everything they have to offer!

Marie was a great host and we enjoyed staying in her home. It was very clean and in a great location. Having a secure parking spot out back was a plus. Thank you, Marie for your hospitality!

We had a wonderful stay! Andrea is a really friendly and attentive host and provided clear communication throughout our stay. The space itself was clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed. The location was calm and a 10 minute ride away from the city centre. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy accommodation.

Martin is a fantastic host, the apartment is perfectly located for city access and is spacious and comfortable. Martin was so helpful with recommendations and local knowledge. We would definitely stay again and I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Marianne was proactive in offering advice prior to our arrival. She offered an easy and flexible check-in. Her home is lovely & close to all amenities on the grounds of Mount Juliet. We had a great stay!

The place was beautiful and I especially appreciated the bathtub.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place with its direct view of the River Barrow. The location was perfect, with many great destinations nearby like Kilkenny, Waterford, and the Rock of Cashel. Sheona was a wonderful host.

Everything was brilliant as described the surrounding areas were beautiful and a quaint pub and the cafe down by the river were very hospitable
