Family-friendly holiday rentals in Kill Devil Hills

We had a great three night stay, my three adult children and I. The beach was surprisingly almost ours to ourselves. For an older traditional OBX house, it was well updated and very well appointed. The central floor plan is very open. I love it when you can be in the kitchen cooking while talking to everybody in the living area and those around the dinner table at the same time. Awesome view of the ocean off the back deck. We sat in the hot tub and still see the ocean. Im sometimes leary of hot tubs at the beach, a lot of times they are not well maintained. Danielle's was spotless and the water chemistry was perfect and safe. There was absolutely nothing we needed or any place where we needed to go that was not within a 5-minute drive. All of my family are fisherman. if you like to fish, there's not a better place to stay. getting from the house to the beach to surf fish takes less than a minute. we walked up to the OBX Pier several times to fish, probably less than a 5 minute walk.

Our first family vacation with our 3 month old son couldn’t have been better, thanks to Allison and Ritchie’s home and backyard space. Anything we needed was quickly and easily responded to by them to make sure our son had a great time, including room temp and pool temp (TY guys!) For small family vacations at OBX in the future in, we hope to come back here.

Our family of 5 had a great time. Really loved the close proximity to the beach - the walk is only a few minutes. We also enjoyed being able to see the ocean from the deck (and from the crow's nest of course). We used the hot tub every night as well. Though we didn't use all of them, nice that each room has TV and cable. Rooms were comfortable and the house worked perfectly for our needs.

The house was very clean and ready for guests when we arrived. It was also in a great area and very close to the beach. The host was very quick to respond to every message and gave very good recommendations for things to do and places to go. 10/10 would go again.

This was a perfect place for a large family to stay. The location is perfect as it's walkable to private beach where there is hardly any crowd. There are various restaurants within a mile of this location and everything was available for a great time.

We had the best time here, its exactly like the pictures and the host goes above and beyond with recommendations/ items provided and cleanliness!

We had a wonderful stay. The view from the sliding glass doors was beautiful in the morning!! It was clean & as described. Donna was very helpful with instructions and information about what to do & places to eat. We will definitely be returning!!

Absolutely great stay !! Everything was exactly as stated, we were even able to check in early. Matt is an outstanding host, and I'm sure would be easy to contact if a problem were to arise, as he answered all the questions I had prior to our arrival in an extremely timely manner. 5 star A + thanks again for a great stay in your truly unique tree house.

This house was perfect for our family and really close to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and then some. Most of all we loved how close it was to the beach!

Beautiful house. Great sleeping areas. Kitchen and Dining room were roomy.

Great house with a huge fenced in backyard. Close to the beaches and nature preserve. Amanda was great.

I had a very enjoyable stay. The cottage was spotless, very clean, beds were comfortable, it was exactly how it is depicted and described. I needed a place to decompress after my dad’s funeral and this was just the place. I traveled with my German Shepherd and we were able to take long walks on the beach right across the street. The host was very responsive to any questions I had and communicated when the place was ready early. Would totally recommend.

First impressions last the longest! What a great experience from start to finish. We couldn’t be more pleased with our stay. There is literally nothing to complain about. It was just as described and Haley was a great host. If you want to feel like you’re welcomed, this wonderful place a try. You won’t be disappointed. Top notch, 5 star experience.

Perfect location with a short walk to the beach! Also very close to restaurants and sights to see. Alison was very easy to work with and had all the amenities for the perfect beach trip. We were happy to call her place home for a few days!

My friends and I enjoyed our entire stay at Debra's place, we had everything that we needed! The kitchen was well stocked with utensils making it easy for us to cook, and there were plenty of towels in the bathroom. When we arrived, there was a plate of (incredible) cookies waiting for us, which made us feel very welcomed and started our trip off on the right foot. Be sure to consider Debra's place when looking in OBX!

Check in was easy! Short walk to the beach. The weather didnt cooperate but, the pool was heated & hot tub still hot. Made the best of a rainy week. Would recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay in Kill Devil Hills

This is was truly a very nice experience , you won’t forget it. What a beautiful spot. Gia is such an amazing host and extremely responsive .

The place was perfect for us. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood. It’s about ~2 miles from the shops of Duck. The beach is less than five minutes walk—our dog loved it. We had a great time! The hosts were very responsive and check in and check out were a breeze.

We love staying at Donald’s Duck! This was our second stay and we think this place is just so cute and cozy. Our favorite place is the beautifully lit pool area. It’s a short walk to the beach. The indoor space is beautiful and clean. Mark is a very responsive and helpful host! We love the proximity to the shops and restaurants.

George was a wonderful host and the house is in a great location.

The place was exactly what we were looking for. We were in town for the Jazz Fest which was across the street, so it was perfect. The beach was a little bit of a walk, but wasn't the primary reason for our visit so it was fine. The place is really cute and comfortable.

Beautiful home, super clean, comfortable beds, plenty of extras like soap, garbage bags, laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, towels, cookware, seasonings ect. Kati was an awesome host and was very attentive and responsive. The pool was fabulous and we spent a lot of time there. We wish check out was a little later and suggest doing extras as if it were your own such as throw in some towels, make sure the beds and pillowcases are stripped, take out the trash, run the dishwasher and just leave it as much as you can as it was when you arrived. We loved this place and will certainly use Kati again. She is a super host for sure!! Thank you Kati!

Several areas on property to gather and dine, but also many areas to read quietly away from the group Plentiful kitchen supplies, very well outfitted with silverware and dinnerware Jorge answered all our questions quickly and accurately We hope to return to this area and will plan to stay again
