it was a great stay. peaceful and beautiful place. Abi and mam were wonderful host and loved the food. overall great experience and would love to visit again.

Basil teacher, as she's known around, is one of the most meticulous hosts we've come across. The place is surrounded by lush sylvan and the Meenachil river. It's quiet and wonderful. The quarters we stayed in has such an amusing history to it. It's got beautiful furniture that are at least 70 years old. The home where Teacher resides is over 170 years old and is a stellar construction. Basil teacher is a generous and thoughtful host. We had informed her that one of us has an ankle injury, and coincidentally or not, we found an ice pack in the refrigerator. The kichenette has everything you need. Despite it, she'll happily offer coffee in the morning. The breakfast is heavenly. Special thanks to Shyamala chechi as well, who is the helper. Teacher will also tell you a bit of local history which is very interesting. In all, it was a wonderful and peaceful stay for us.

Praveen's home was such a pleasant and peaceful place to stay. More than the stay, we enjoyed Acha's home-cooked authentic Kerala breakfast, lunch and dinner. Acha even prepared pazhapori (banana fritters) almost everyday, on special request from my daughter. Praveen was very hospitable and arranged boatrides, sightseeing and ensured our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. A very humble family to stay with. We are looking forward to our next trip to Kainakary at Praveen's new home. Wishing good luck! Thank you Praveen and family for making our stay a memorable one.

We ended up staying at Basil’s place yet again! And we are not surprised at all! Because once you stay at this beautiful home, you will want to keep coming back! This place is everything that the listing describes it as and so much more! There’s serene beauty everywhere you look. Jerin was an excellent host and was helpful throughout our stay. We were provided with 2 bedrooms with attached bathooms. He provided good food and helped us with local transport to station and back. The rooms were basic but comfortable. There was no washing machine but a person was there to help hand wash the clothes. Bathrooms could have had better fittings but one cannot complain as the proximity to the beach meant any fitting would rust due to the salty sea air. The house is a 2 minute walk from the beach. The beach itself was spectacular, with hardly any debris. The waters were calm and clean. If you go in the early morning you can see the fishermen bring in their catch. We had a lovely trip and must once again thank Jerin for his hospitality.

Lovely place. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Well maintained and great ambience to go with a lovely breakfast. Peaceful and one can have your coffee by the river side. Very rarely would get an opportunity to stay in a 150 year old well maintained house. Strongly recommend.

Sebastian is such an amazing host. He and his family made myself and my friend feel so welcome. He is very knowledgeable about the local area and helped us with anything we asked. I would highly recommend eating here too as his food is incredible! The room was lovely, spacious and spotlessly clean.

Loved the place. It is very homely and Spacious. Trees surrounding the home is beautiful .The caretaker Gireesh is very helpful. I Would love to come again some other time and also recommend.

A peaceful place that is closer to a home than an hotel feeling and wonderful people that were really friendly, always ready for a chat and helpful. Allwyn and his wife are wonderful hosts, and his staff are so responsive and passionate towards their duty. Cooked amazing local food for us, and made us feel very comfortable through out our time here. I’d strongly recommend this place for people who enjoy home stays and want a peaceful place to spend their vacation.

Während unseres Aufenthaltes bei Swami und Amma haben wir uns gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Swami hat uns morgens durch aktive Meditation begleitet und Amma und ihre Helfer haben uns köstlich bekocht. Wir haben während des Aufenthaltes Behandlungen im örtlichen Ayurvedakrankenhaus wahrgenommen, dass war spannend und wohltuend, die Organisation lief sehr gut durch unsere Gastgeber.
