Eco loft overlooking garden and stream

This artist and architect-designed house is clad in larch and well insulated with wool felts. The access to the separate loft of our eco-house is via an external staircase. A large south facing window in the main room overlooks the front garden and Shiplaw burn. There is a separate workspace/single bedroom for an extra guest. We are located within one of the biggest habitat restoration projects in Europe and are five minutes walk from a regular bus service to Edinburgh and across the Borders.

A self-contained one-bedroom lodge, the Cosy is tucked away a few metres from waymarked walks. Available all year round it’s ideal for walkers and lovers of the great outdoors. Bring boots or bikes and head off from your own door. We’re situated close to the A702 making us a convenient stop over if you’re traveling up or down the country.

Hardgatehead Cottage.

Farm cottage tucked away in a rural idyll, this haven of peace is surrounded by panoramic views and situated in the middle of a working farm. You will only have sheep, perhaps some cattle and plenty of wildlife for neighbours. A car is recommended, you will be a 6 minute drive from the village of West Linton which is in easy reach of Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders. There are plenty of scenic walks from the doorstep or relax and enjoy the woodburning stove and the views.

The Stable Flat @ Newhall Estate

This three bedroom flat is part of a traditional farm Steading established in the late eighteenth century, but now converted to a high standard. The Stable flat is situated on a rural private estate but with great access to Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders. Guests staying at the stable flat will have access to the whole property and are very welcome to explore the grounds. The walled garden provides a tranquil place for rest and relaxation.

We have facilities for a baby, disabled persons and well-behaved dogs. Rural, 3 miles to the shops in Penicuik. 12 miles to Edinburgh and 10 miles to Peebles. The X62 bus goes to Edinburgh or Peebles every half hour. The bus stop is less than a kilometre away. It takes 40-50 mins to the centre of Edinburgh, depending on the traffic.
