Built with traditional craftsmanship and natural materials, it provides a bright, welcoming space for up to 10 guests. The apartment is in the small district of Karsau, which belongs to Rheinfelden (Baden). In an almost 200-year-old farmhouse overlooking our farm animals (horses/sheep/cat/dog/chickens) you can relax wonderfully. Basel can be reached in 20 minutes by car/train. Beuggen train station is within walking distance (1.5 km). Right next door is a children's playground and the forest with beautiful walking and cycling trails is a few minutes' walk away. The old dye works, a factory from the 19th century. century, was expanded for mixed use. In addition to apartments, workshops and a doctor's office, guest rooms were created under the shed roofs of the factory halls. It was important to us to give the old building fabric a new use and to make it tangible. We were able to completely preserve the building shell and reuse renewed components in a different context. New components were left natural.

Located in the district of Fahrnau, the property offers many opportunities for excursions to the Black Forest, the Rhine, Switzerland or France in the Vosges. The bus stop for the ride to Feldberg or the S-Bahn station for a ride to Lörrach and Basel are within walking distance. Also within walking distance are the various grocery stores, health food stores, restaurants and venues. The apartment itself has beautiful views in all directions.

It is only a 7-minute walk to S-Bahn 6 to Basel, and 150 m to the nearest supermarket. Downtown Schopfheim is approx. 1 km. If you feel comfortable in a medieval small town with beautiful shops and restaurants, and want to visit Basel and the Black Forest, you are in good hands here. The Wiese river is 100 m to the west.
