Lake house holiday rentals in McHenry

This was an entire family vacation for us. Every one of us loved this home and the location. We were blessed with great weather on our stay and were able to take advantage of tubing on the river. We only left the house once during our week stay. That’s how much we enjoyed it. The home and decor was beautiful. I am very picky on cleanliness and this home met my standards. (Hard to do). I had a few questions over the weeks that lead up to our stay and Jesse was always quick with a response. Thank you for everything!

Great location - walking distance from Wisp for skiing and tubing (though not easy with gear) and a short drive to the grocery store. This was our second stay at this property and we love how family friendly it is - the kids love the game room and climbing wall and it’s a good setup for multiple families.

Great way to spend a few days winding down. The lake was close to the house. Our dogs enjoyed a morning swim and a nice long walk on the trails to dry off and release some energy.

10/10 visit! We had an amazing weekend here and would absolutely love to come back. It was the perfect spot with much to do and lots of fun to be had both inside and outside of the house. David was also very helpful and responsive throughout the entire process.

What a treat! The lake house was so spacious, clean, and well appointed. The three floors allowed for lots of together, small group, and alone time options. Our family - three generations including teens and an octogenarian - had a great time cooking together, playing billiards, soaking in the hot tub, playing air hockey, watching movies, and seeing wildlife. Our hosts had great recommendations for restaurants and boat rentals. Wonderful memories were made, and we highly recommend! Thanks for your gracious hospitality, Idalia and Dennys.

We’ve been at rentals all over the country, and Rick was one of the best hosts. His place is wonderful and so well stocked. So nice to be able to have our own dock on the lake. Our entire family stayed here for Father’s Day weekend and would love to come back!

Very nice house. Spacious, clean, very new. Well designed. Everyone really liked the home, and the way it's separated between sleeping areas and event/hangout areas. The kids had a blast going out on the frozen lake, and we were only 15 minutes from Wisp. We had 3 small children, and being able to put them to bed while we played games or ate dinner was nice. My only gripe is the check out policy. 10 am is pretty silly. Asking for a silly amount of money to check out any later when no one else is checking in... also silly. We had a 3 month old with us, whose feeding time was 10 am. Having to have everything packed up, feeding the rug-rat off schedule, and then trying to pack the kid up and get in the car was annoying. Overall very positive experience. Nice fixtures.

Beautiful home! Kitchen was extremely well stocked. We had a wonderful experience!

We spent a relaxing New Years with two families and several kids and this was perfect. Plenty of space for toddlers and babies but ample privacy. Fireplaces were especially welcome during the 15+ inches of snow we got! Kitchen is well stocked, jetted tubs and jacuzzi were welcome. We also walked to nearby pizza, sports bar and other amenities.

This home is spacious and absolutely beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we hope to come back one day. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and the amenities kept us entertained. The view from the deck is outstanding! We had a great experience communicating with the host. They were friendly and quick to respond. We had an overall very positive experience, and we trust you will too!

This place was great! It was very well-maintained, clean, and comfortable for our group of eight. The view from the second story deck was one of the best in town.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful mountain cottage in Deep Creek, MD! Our group included friends of all ages—and our dog—and everyone had a great time. Nestled among lush trees, the cottage feels peaceful and secluded, yet luxurious. The highlight was the family room with soaring ceilings and huge windows that filled the space with light and forest views. It struck the perfect balance between cozy and open. The bedrooms were spacious and private, with some featuring walk-in closets that worked great as a baby nursery. The crib was provided. Everything was thoughtfully designed—heated bathroom floors, a cozy den/office, and a modern kitchen with all the essentials. The wooden blinds in the bedrooms were perfect for sleeping in after evenings spent in the hot tub or enjoying the game-filled basement (pool, air hockey, and more). We especially appreciated the eco-friendly welcome gift pack, complete with bamboo toothbrushes thoughtful touch from the host. Highly recommend!

Three friends and one labradoodle had a wonderful weekend at the house! It had every amenity you could think of, was a beautiful location and delightful atmosphere! We would come back again…

Very nice place. The carpet upstairs was newer and clean. It was so great to be able to bring our dogs. We went during off season and think it would have been a lot better as a summer trip. May have to come back at a better time. Decent hot tub (yes it was clean!), the kids and even us adults,enjoyed the basement. Thank you for allowing us to rent your place.

Jacqueline was super responsive. She was an amazing host answering all our questions and was willing to work with us on check out due to the weather!!! We would definitely stay there again!

Shannon was such a great host very responsive and a quickly she helped will all our needs to make sure we had a great stay. her airbnb was very cozy and peaceful would stay here again.

We have stayed in your home before and this stay was equally superior. The home has anything you need to cook, bake or BBQ. The granddaughters loved the fire pit for S’mores and star gazing. The early morning Deer herd wandering the yard was especially sweet with new baby does. We were close enough to all amenities. Monkey Business and Go Carts were a big hit. Swallow Falls hike and Split Rock were beautiful.

We had a wonderful weekend at Keri and Josh's beautiful home, the Z retreat! From the welcoming and family-friendly furnishings, the stunning kitchen and thoughtful amenities, it felt like home away from home! We caught fish off the dock and spent quality time with family and friends in such a beautiful setting! Keri and Josh were so kind and responsive and shared local information to help us enjoy our stay! We would highly recommend the Z retreat for entertaining and creating joyful memories with family and friends in a well-appointed, comfortable and spacious home!

Great response time. we had a few issues, host was quick to remedy. we enjoyed our stay. would stay again. there is a pool and food at the lodge I would highly recommend. when you arrive there is a security gate at the end of the community, you have to check in with them. they give you your pass and make sure you are supposed to be there. the guard also told us you can get access to go to the lodge or amenities without being a guest staying overnight.

Michael was a fantastic host. He kept in touch to ensure we arrived safety and were able to gain access and settle in. He responded promptly to any question we had, which were few. The house was wonderful and great for a family holiday gathering. It truly exceeded expectations. We enjoyed the chef's kitchen and commercial grade range which made it convenience for preparing Easter dinner. The outdoor setting with large table, Weber grill, hot tub and fire pit was perfect for all to relax and enjoy. The led lamp lighted path to the dock and lakeside deck was thoughtfully designed and made it more enjoyable that just walking down a flight of stairs. And there was ample parking. Would recommend highly and we look forward to visiting again. A very peaceful and relaxing experience - thank you!

Tina and Robert provided an amazing home for my group to stay at for a short ski weekend! The townhouse was way bigger than expected and all amenities you could think of were there! They were responsive and instructions were easy. Kitchen stocked with all you could need and fun games for families or for the summer months. The hot tub was easy to use and a nice amenity. Right by the slopes, this was the perfect affordable stay. Thank you!
