Family-friendly holiday rentals in Mission Bay, San Diego

Lydia was a very responsive host and was really easy to communicate with. We were a little skeptical because we knew we would be staying on the property where she lived with her family and were worried about privacy but the cabin is very private and although we naturally bumped into Lydia and her husband a few times, they did not spend any time out their back yard (where the cabin is located) for the duration of our stay so we had the place and the yard pretty much to ourselves which was great. We didn't realize how far away we would be from shops and restaurants. It is about a 20 minute walk to the nearby town so we did spend a lot of money on ubers but that was our own fault for not doing our research beforehand. Overall Lydias place is very clean and had everything we needed for our stay, she even had some stuff in the fridge and cleaning products which was really convenient. Thank you Lydia for a lovely stay.

Alain’s house is incredible! It’s perfectly located near the center of Pacific Beach but far enough out you don’t get any of the night life/noise around the Airbnb. Kitchen, BBQ, rooftop lounge with hot tub were all in great condition and very clean. Alain was very friendly and gave great recommendations for local bars, coffee shops, and restaurants in the nearby area. They even left doughnuts and a thank you card for us when we arrived. 10/10 would book this Airbnb again!

We enjoyed our stay with our 2 kiddos. Easily walkable to the beach and restaurants (Azucar is a MUST for coffee/pastries) and it was awesome having the wagon and beach chairs. Hot tub was great.

I had a great time staying at Thelma De La Paz’s place! The space was cozy, very clean, and exactly what I needed for a comfortable stay. Thelma was a wonderful host - polite, welcoming, and super responsive to any questions I had. Highly recommend!

The hot tub was a fantastic way to close out our evenings. The location was walkable to Ocean Beach, however beware of the “hike” back after an evening out! Those hills can be a doozy!

Cy was great- easy and flexible. The place was a 5 minute walk to the ocean. It was lovely to drink a cup of coffee from Cafe Rosemont and watch the surfers. We also enjoyed the hot tub and the hammock. Everything was lovely- well equipped and comfortable!

Loved, loved, loved this wonderful North Pacific Beach home. Close walk to beach, restaurants and bars. Very, very clean and comfortable. We look forward to staying here again.

We had 3 different families with 7 kids total in the house- and the space worked out great- every one had enough room, the fenced in backyard felt safe and spacious with lots to play with, and the rooms were big enough for everyone to sleep comfortably. Anita was responsive when it came to the few questions I had about the house, and it was clean and tidy when we arrived. It is in a neighborhood- so grocery stores, restaurants etc are a drive away, but very close to all necessary stores. Would definitely recommend for kids and families who want a quiet place to unwind and play outside of the downtown SD core while still being close to everything you need!

My family really enjoyed staying here. The place is larger inside than you would expect - six adults fit very comfortably. Access to the beach is easy, and the large table on the first floor was perfect for playing games. The TV on the second floor was great for watching movies together. The primary bedroom and bathroom are nicely sized, and all the beds are comfortable. The nearby Pacific Beach location gave us access to excellent restaurants and bars within walking distance. I would love to stay here again.

I really enjoyed staying here. It's on a canyon, which provided a great view and a nice breeze and was very quiet. We had our little dog with us and he loved being able to explore the yard. It's a great location in La Jolla / North PB. It's at the top of my list for my next trip to San Diego.

I wanted to move in and stay forever. When I saw the giant bird sculptures in the photos, I was a little unsure, but they make for a great atmosphere. The murals and personal touches are fantastic for a great vacation spot. Sandra was an amazing host and even picked up a graduation decoration package for us and put those up, so it was one less thing to do during busy, busy graduation time. The rooftop deck and the third floor make it a great place for family and teenagers. The beds are very comfortable, the master shower is perfect, and everything was sparkling clean. We loved the quiet neighborhood, and parking both in the garage and on the street was easy. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this stay.

This place is great. It was clean, very well-stocked, walkable location. It was perfect for us. Short and safe walk to the beach. The backyard was peaceful, especially in the mornings. The kitchen had everything we needed, probably more than any other place we've rented. We want to come back!

Leah and Drew's beach bungalow is so beautiful! They've created a very cozy and welcoming environment in their home that's felt the moment you walk in. The backyard is so cute! I enjoyed the the upstairs deck and having a dog run for my pup was super convenient! It's a great central location- very pedestrian and dog friendly neighborhood. There are a bunch of coffee joints around and a straight shot down to the the dog beach! Thank you so much for opening your home to us!

This is such a gem located just a few blocks from Ocean Beach. You can’t beat the price/location. We didn’t have to move our car all weekend, everything we needed was walking distance to Edwin’s place.

We are so grateful to have been able to stay at Gwynn's place, it is so peaceful and lovely. Like a secret garden getaway. We loved all the small touches, and beauty of the space. Gwynn made us feel very welcome and comfortable! The pool is amazing and the outdoor spaces are delightful. Can't wait to stay here again.

I was looking for a peaceful and comfortable place to relax and recharge and this fit perfectly. Anita and Brian are great hosts, friendly and helpful but still respected my privacy. The setting is also beautifully landscaped and the deck was great to have for relaxing and enjoying the water view. I can highly recommend.

Beautiful home with plenty of space. Vanessa was very responsive and helpful with check in. I had made a request to check in early due to travelling with an infant and when I arrived she had a packnplay and a high chair set up for me. The house had several toys/books for kids along with beach chairs and shades for us to use. The pool and spa was beautiful and kept very clean. There is also a walking path at the end of the street that goes along the beach and leads to pacific beach within 15-20 minutes. Its hard to find a house this spacious and close to pacific beach for this price, would highly recommend to anyone. The host was incredibly friendly and responsive to messages which is always nice when travelling from far away.

The apartment was so close to all the restaurants and easy to get to anywhere within around 15 minutes drive. Tina was an amazing host and on hand to answer any questions.

Wow, what a perfect haven for our San Diego stay. The space is cozy and beautiful, the pool pristine and the views stunning. The quickest drive into the city, and returning each night feels like a restful retreat. Such responsive and kind hosts, we hope we can come back to this peaceful retreat again soon!

We had a lovely time celebrating graduation and Father’s Day at Teresa‘s AirBnb! It was very spacious, had a full kitchen, and all the amenities we needed for the perfect visit. The location is perfect, with plenty of places to dine & shop! And Teresa was very quick in responding to messages! We can’t thank her enough for being the perfect host!!
