The house holds a good central position close to airports; Glasgow airport is 30 minutes away and Edinburgh airport is 40 minutes drive and is a good base for a variety of day trips in and around the city. Twechar is situated on the Forth and Clyde canal which is used for cycling, walking and kayaking. There are many walks in and around Twechar itself for instance the Roman Fort and easy access to the Trossachs.

Allanfauld Farm is a working family farm with sheep and cattle, situated along the hills of Kilsyth. The cosy and comfortable garden house is located in the beautiful farmhouse garden, surrounded by trees and sits next to a lovely glen. It is in a very handy central location for all visitor attractions and scenic areas near Glasgow, Stirling, Falkirk and Edinburgh, as well as nearby towns of Kirkintilloch and Cumbernauld. Widgeon is a two-storey building which has been extended towards the lake with huge glass sliding doors showing off the spectacular views over the lake towards Ben Lomond and the Menteith Hills. It has its own paved area and outdoor furniture; perfect for drinking up the views on long summer evenings. It also has its own hot tub and sauna. Widgeon's main building sleeps 6, has it also has 'The Nest', which sleeps 2 so is now an 8 person property. The 2 are booked together.
