I was working hard as an interior coordinator, and I wanted to create a space where guests could relax and enjoy themselves. I wanted to recreate the rich and peaceful times I spent at my grandmother's house as a child. While the retro atmosphere unique to an old Japanese house has been preserved, the bathroom and kitchen have been renovated with new fixtures and feel clean. Nearby, you can enjoy a stroll in the Kawaharamachi area, lined with cafes and bakeries in renovated traditional machiya houses, or along the Nagaragawa River, famous for cormorant fishing. It is a charming area with lots of nature and fields. Please experience the real, nostalgic life of Japan, not a manufactured Japan. The convenience store is about 4 minutes away by car, The supermarket is about 8 minutes away by car. The cottage is located on the banks of the clear Marukawa River. Gifu is famous for Shirakawago and Hida Takayama, but Enbara is also a nice place in the mountains, although it is inconvenient. The scenery of the mountains and rivers is beautiful, and it is a place rich in nature where monkeys and deer appear. The Enbara River is known as the most beautiful underground water in Japan and a famous spot for its light, and the inn is located about 800 meters from the spring water point of the underground water, so the water transparency is excellent. You can also see the light from the inn. On summer mornings, depending on the weather conditions, you can see a magical view of the sunlight pouring through the trees. The water in the Marukara River is cold, but in summer the children play in the river energetically. The riverbed is much cooler, so people can escape the heat and cool off. A little downstream there are several river play spots, and the water is clear everywhere and it feels good to swim beautifully. The water of the river shines emerald green in a slightly deep place, and the scenery of rocks and moss is also wonderful, and it is a healing spot where the mind is purified. There is a deck facing the river on the second floor of the inn, so you can relax while watching the river, BBQ, swing in a hammock while listening to the river, or refresh yourself in the tent sauna.

Location Opened in May 2024. Located in the heart of Takayama's historic district, Makoto-ya Ojin is a stylish inn in 1-chome, Ojin-cho, Takayama City, where the good old Japanese landscape remains. In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). You can relax in a renovated space in a traditional wooden house. A wood stove is available in winter and air conditioning in summer. At night you can see lots of stars and shooting stars. There is a floor space unique to the Japanese-style room, and there is also a space called "ma" designed in the living space, where you can decorate and enjoy seasonal flowers and trees. We can bring you a hot breakfast every morning if you want. You can use the kitchen to cook meals. Cooking utensils and basic seasonings (oil, salt, pepper) are provided. Enjoy BBQ in the garden (barbecue grill, charcoal, rental 1,500 yen) If you'd like authentic Japanese food, we can arrange pick-up and drop-off We can also make reservations. This is an old house built 221 years ago, located in the center of Tsumago-juku. The 20-tatami living room has a sunken hearth (currently unavailable) and you can enjoy the old Japanese private house. There are 3 bedrooms, so you can stay with a large number of people, such as family and friends. No meals are provided. You are welcome to use the full kitchen freely. There is a backyard at the end of the dirt floor that continues from the entrance, and you can walk around freely. Equipped with WiFi and an automatic lifting table, teleworking is also possible for long-term stays. Please have a relaxing time in this quiet old house. We look forward to seeing you ！
