Guesthouse holiday rentals in Northland Region

This small cottage was everything we could have asked for, peaceful, beautiful surroundings and helpful, friendly hosts. The location is ideal most of Northland, including the Cape, East and West coasts. We would have no hesitation in going back when we next visit New Zealand, we left with still much to see and do. If you are staying over a weekend, the Kerikeri market on a Saturday morning is not to be missed.

Unfortunately a cyclone rolled through while I was staying at Vicki‘s place. I got to walk around the first day that I was there and enjoyed the house for an evening, but the power went out so I had to cut my stay short. When I woke up, Vicki had left pancakes and hot water for me to make coffee. She also gave me a refund for my second night. She had gone above and beyond to make my stay as enjoyable as it could be under the circumstances.

I recently stayed 5 nights at Rangiputa Retreat. Steve and Vanessa were the most thoughtful, caring and hospitable hosts I've ever stayed with. From Vanessa dropping around eggs, muffins, oranges, battered fish, and sashimi, to Steves help with getting a snapper smoked, his great yarns and local fishing knowledge, that proved really helpful, and lending his surfcaster to my mate.Just awesome Kiwis and im glad to have met them. So thats the cherry on top of what was already a cracking great place to stay. Ideal for 2 or 3 fishing buddies to stay in what is an exceptional central location, to find a sheltered fishing pozzie no matter the weather. The kitchen had everything I needed, and it was nice that it was easy to keep clean. The bed was super comfy after a long day on the water. I've been coming to Karikari Peninsula for many years and finding this gem of a place has made my trip. Till next time.

Very comfortable little place with a ton of nice little touches like artwork, good appliances, comfortable outdoor seating. Very close to the beach and the estuary. Even if you aren't a dog person, the dogs are so well behaved and quiet, they occasionally will visit you and you can give them a pat if you like.

We stayed at Lorna's place for our trip to the Poor Knights. Absolutely perfect spot to stay and explore around Tutukaka. Well set up with everything you could need. Would definitely stay again!

We loved staying at Point Veronica in such a cute cosy cottage. The road in is beautiful as is the Paihia to Opua Walkway with access just beyond Tea Tree Cottage. Thank you Charles and Robyn

How an airbnb should be. Anna & Brian have created such a welcoming, peaceful oasis with all of the personal touches that make staying here so wonderful. A short drive from Auckland and you feel you're in the middle of nowhere (in the best way). A bottle of wine, homemade cake & bread, breakfast provisions (so many eggs we couldn't finish them all) topped off with a well kept tennis court, pool & spa - in a gorgeous apartment-like setting, we couldn't have asked for more. A great place to stay.

I booked this accommodation for my colleagues, and it was perfect for their needs while working away from home. The communication with the hosts was excellent and made the booking process and any adjustments extremely smooth and easy. I would definitely book again in the future.

Perfect place to rest after a long day of travelling. It was nice warm and cosy. Beautiful space with everything you could need on a little weekend away we enjoyed our stay 😊

Lovely to be met by Kat as we entered their property, very clean and cosy. Awesome access to the beach which was just fantastic. Lovely hosts....highly recommend.

Lovely place to stay for a few days. Very close to Kerikeri. The hosts house is very near by but it was very private and quiet. We didn't see or hear them at all. Very clean and tidy and lots of hot water for showers. Thank heavens for the heatpump as it was a rare very cold weekend in KK but we were warm in the unit. I would definitely stay here again above anywhere else in Kerikeri. We loved it.

We loved staying at Debra’s guest studio apartment. Amazing views of the ocean and forest from the entire unit. It had everything k needed to cook dinner. It is 5 minutes from the bay of islands marina and boat yard and was so nice to stay there while our sailboat was in the boatyard. Highly recommend and hope to be back.

John is amazing friendly and very kind, he was helpful with what to do around the area. The place neat and tidy with beautiful surroundings. I will most definitely recommend this place suitable for couple and retreats. thank you John for making me feel safe and right at home.

I wanted a place that was quirky and this was it The caravan bedroom was very comfortable Kitchen and bathroom had everything I needed Having the yard fenced was great for my furbaby although she did like playing with the resident Labs!!! Loved walking along the beach watching the Kite surfers We didn't need to leave the property Having Netflix available was a treat as weather was very unpredictable!! Would love to return in summer!! A 5 star host!!!

Already planning our next weekend away here! It was such a peaceful and private spot and John was super communicative via messages before the trip, and introduced himself when we got to the property :) it was perfect for a weekend away from Auckland, with beautiful views and a short drive from the beach or Mangawhai town! the place was beautiful furnished, a real home away from home. there was a cute little basket full of good information about the area, walks, restaurants, and other useful information. The kitchen was amazingly stocked, there even Marmite! It was a cold ish weekend, the place was nice and warm without need for heating (which was available) Aroha was super responsive and great to deal with. the place looks quite small from outside but is actually super roomey. walking distance to the beach with a great view from the deck, I can imagine how great it would be on a summer day! Loved everything about it, highly recommend and will definitely stay there again if Aroha will have us :)

We had a fantastic stay at Jodi’s place and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very beginning, Jodi was an outstanding host. Her communication was always so prompt and clear. She was always quick to respond to our questions, yet gave us complete privacy throughout our stay, which we really appreciated. The place itself was beautiful and exactly as pictured, and even better in person. It was incredibly spacious, tastefully decorated, and well equipped with everything we needed during our stay. One of the highlights for us was the hot tub. We enjoyed it so much that we used it twice. This was one of the best Airbnb experiences we've had. Unforgettable Stay at Cable Bay! My husband and I had such an incredible time at this beachfront Airbnb that we ended up extending our trip—honestly, we just didn’t want to leave so we extended our stay and extra day! The property offers stunning views of the ocean and provides direct access to the best beach in the area. Rosemary and Brian were fantastic hosts from the moment we arrived, greeting us warmly and ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Their thoughtful recommendations on local dining spots and nearby attractions really enhanced our experience. The location is perfect—there’s a fantastic fishery and a charming dairy just around the corner, so everything you could need is within easy reach. We truly had an unforgettable time and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend this hidden gem at Cable Bay!

We had a great stay at Tania & Steve’s place, unfortunately it was only for one night. The studio was quiet and well equiped with everything we needed. It was clean, nicely furnished and included little extras like home baked bread, cereals, fruit, milk & butter. Both Tania and Steve were very friendly and their communication was top notch. We would highly recommend.

The Barn is a huge guest room, very well maintained and clean and the surroundings is beautiful. It is a perfect farm stay experience!

Hattie was great to work with and very kind. The house pets were also very cute and sweet. The view from the property is amazing as well! Great little place for a weekend getaway and the nearby towns were great for exploring. Hattie kept us informed of everything was available for anything we needed.

Beautiful property to stay at with generous, attentive and friendly hosts. Loved the little extras offered and fresh orange juice from the orchard! Lovely accommodation with everything you need, yummy comfy beds and a massive TV if that's your thing. Hard to beat on a beautiful morning when it's bathed in early sunlight. Take your shoes off for grounding and wander around the orchard. Lovely. Won't stay anywhere else when visiting Whangarei unless it's already booked! Booo. 😂 Highly recommend you stay here. 15min drive to town centre. Easy Peasy
