Very pleasant stay in this small cottage, very well furnished, with everything, including food! Very discreet hosts but very attentive to well-being. Peaceful and serene setting that we will be happy to return to on a future trip!

This is the second time we have stayed at Loustalet. Need I say more? Extremely comfortable home, everything we needed for a family holiday. Nightingales sang in the woods, buzzards and kites soared above us and we were visited by hares and deer in the garden. The house is well situated for what we needed in Castillion la Bataille and close enough to enjoy Saint Emilion and Libourne. Our host was extremely attentive and helpful yet respected our privacy and we are surely to return again.

Beautiful setting, peaceful and quiet. Great base to explore the area, but you'll need a car! Rauzan 5 minutes down the road has everything you'll need, bakery, butchers, groceries and pizza restaurant! A great place to relax, would recommend to anyone.

A charming cottage very close to st emilion town and very close to the station. Sophie was very kind to pick us up and really helpful with suggestions on good restaurants and places to visit. She was very responsive to every request. We really enjoyed our time there. Thanks for being a great host Sophie. I highly recommend this place.

The village of Gensac is tucked away in the lovely Saint-Émilion countryside. The one-time convent feels like a special place, a quiet and peaceful retreat to return to after our days visiting Bordeaux, Saint-Émilion, Bergerac, and environs. The suite is spacious, very clean, has useful amenities, and we settled in easily. A vase of fresh flowers on the dining table and a bottle of local wine were nice touches that we especially appreciated. John was a helpful, informative, and friendly host. We enjoyed meeting him and will remember our stay there fondly. Thank you, John.

Extremely quiet accommodation, in the middle of nature, easily accessible swimming pool Great environment, a real disconnection from everyday life thanks to a reconnection to nature!! We'll come back to it without a second thought.

Great modern house with all the comforts. It seemed difficult to find in advance, but was very easy to find afterwards. Pool not used (too cold). The host had prepared delicious breakfast and dinner (for a fee). The horses in the meadow around the house as well as the tranquility and the view the valley in amazing. Everything fenced for the dog. Sitting outside under the canopy with a blanket with welcome drink and snack :D We have plans to go in November instead of 2 nights, a week...

Great recommendations for Chateau's, Restaurants and things to do. We had 8 nights and could have easily had 8 more and still not seen a fraction of what the area has to offer. This beautiful Gite was perfect for us. We loved the peaceful location, the well kept grounds and the beautiful pool area which we only sometimes shared with the 2 occupants of the smaller gite. Often, we had it to ourselves. Chris and Debbie were really lovely and helpful with lots of recommendations- from markets to local restaurants. They set up a private chat group when we arrived so they could be on call if required and pass on any useful information. Debbie arrived at our door one day as we headed out for a trip with a cool box, which was a lovely gesture . On another day, she arrived at the pool with a jug of chilled sangria. Their lovely friendliness contributed to our enjoyment of this property. As someone who is often a gourmet buffet for local insect life, the mosquito nets over the beds were very welcome. Our girls loved the grounds, including the swing next to the gite, although the pool made it for them. We would happily recommend it to everyone we know.

We were met by his beautiful dogs on arrival making us feeling immediately welcome, followed by Gideon who welcomed us like we were part of the family. Gideon and his wife couldn’t have done enough, always being around for a chat, or just for a quick wave and smile. This truly is the most peaceful and beautiful setting to escape the reality of city life. The house its self was beautiful with vaulted ceilings and exposed original brick, they have got the perfect balance of rustics and contemporary. We couldn’t fault a thing and whoever gets to stay here next, is sure to love it just as much as we did!

Patricia is a very welcoming host who passionately introduced us to her garden and animals. She shares her know-how through very informative workshops (plants, donkeys, etc.) The tiny house is very nice when you want to recharge your batteries as a family in an eco-lodge close to nature. The pool available is a real plus to cool off and have fun with the kids. The summer kitchen also allows you to cook outside the accommodation and thus expand the living space. We highly recommend this listing!!

Very nice accommodation in a wonderful quiet large park. The roses are fragrant and the terrace offers plenty of space to relax. You can hear the birds in the evening as well as the frogs at the pond... it was a great three days, a perfect end to the city.

Beautiful house, clean and pleasant. 9 km from Sarlat. Very well located for visiting the best sites and villages. A very large enclosed garden for our 4-legged friends or safety for our children, not to mention the small swing. Not to mention the very kind welcome and the delicate attention for our arrival. And very important, good bedding. Don't hesitate.

We truly enjoyed staying in Maria’s wonderful home. She was very helpful and communicative and provided clear instructions for getting to the house. We would absolutely stay here again!

This is one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed. The mill tower is a pleasure to be in. There are a few similar old mills dotted around the countryside, some derelict, and I’m really pleased this has been sensitively restored. We were looking for a quiet, warm place for a ‘baby moon’; this was ideal. Hire bikes and explore the area, the paths around are lovely. We enjoyed taking things slower here. You will probably need a car here, there didn’t seem to be public transport. But, you’re very close to Bergerac - we flew here direct and got an easy car. Wish I was still sitting outside the mills as I write this. Great wine and food all nearby.

We had a fantastic stay at Patrick & Jacqueline’s. They’ve done a great job on the property and it’s a perfect location for exploring the dordogne. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Very lovely place with a beautiful view

A little timeless break in this magnificent bucolic setting. We were visiting for a night and had a wonderful time with Marie-Laure and Lionel, two very warm hosts and in love with nature and animals. Very clean cottage, very comfortable bedding and well-stocked kitchen. The garden is absolutely beautiful and tastefully maintained. Ponies, chickens, and goats enjoyed the dandelions and a few pets. I would highly recommend it! Nice continuation to this very charming couple!

Small cottage with the charm of the Périgord. Very quiet but ideally located for sightseeing. Christine is very friendly. Worth knowing.
