Holiday rentals with outdoor seating in Platanos

Four of us, two couples, spent a very enjoyable week at Roula's stone cottage. A special and stunning location and suspect a rare opportunity to spend time in a traditional style house in a rural cretan mountain village. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. May be better suited to a family stay as the downstairs room has no separate access to bathroom. We enjoyed the peaceful location immensely- great to getup and have breakfast outside with the fresh air and distant sound of goat bells. We travelled to Chania or the beaches along the coast every day and certainly didn't find the village too remote to do so. Nearby Tavernas and gorge walk are a must. Roula, along with her mother, were always quick, helpful and generous when questions were asked and supplied us with eggs and oranges and some home cooked food. Surely one of the best hosts I've experienced on airbnb. Would gladly return.

The tastefully restored and decorated accommodation is located in the middle of the olive trees next to other houses in the village. The accommodation is spacious with on each side of the house, a very nice terrace. Neighbors are lovely. We were greeted by many cats, as in all of Crete. Communication with Nancy or Kallia was very responsive. We will definitely return to this house for calm, mountain views and proximity to quality shops and restaurants. we had a wonderful time in this apartment for 17 days in May / June 2025. The area is beautiful, at a short distance you can walk beautifully and in the evening you look out over the mountains while eating. The apartment is spacious and cozy. The only downside is that there is only one gas burner for cooking. On the other hand, the hostess offers to cook for you (for a small fee) if you want. You should definitely do this because she cooks wonderfully. In addition, she is very caring and does everything to make you feel comfortable. Highly recommended!

Our family of five had an unforgettable stay here! The home was spotless, beautifully restored, and had everything we needed. The village is incredibly picturesque, the locals were kind, and the overall hospitality was second to none. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day at the beach or exploring nearby attractions. The pool was a huge hit with our kids, and the views of the mountains and sea were stunning. What made it truly special were our hosts—Kostas and Nantia went above and beyond. They arranged a meal for our late arrival and offered fantastic local tips that made our trip even better. We felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for throughout our stay. Highly recommend! Did I mention how gorgeous the home is…

The apartment is wonderful, superbly furnished and impeccably clean with the most comfortable bed we ever had in Greece. The fresh fruit and water was appreciated, the apartment is very well equipped with everything you need. The front garden is lovely for relaxing in, the sun beds are super comfy. Pavlos was on hand whenever we needed him, the owners live in the apartment above. The beach is about 5 minutes walk away, but other excellent ones are within 15 minutes drive while Paliaichora is about 15 minutes walk away where there are many excellent tavernas. You could not wish for a better base for exploring the area, highly recommended!

Chrisida and her husband are lovely and very welcoming. The accommodation is even better than in the photos: quiet, comfortable, with quality bedding. We particularly enjoyed the parking space at the back of the courtyard and the access to the washing machine in the workshop. A big thank you for the little touches on our arrival, which really made us happy after the trip. We recommend this listing without a second thought!

A nice and friendly host. Beautiful apartment, clean and a great view of the sea. The outdoor terrace with kitchen is the icing on the cake. Wake up and have breakfast, and in the evening also a nice place to recover after being on the road. Kissamos itself is a little characteristic town we found: a tiny center and nothing special around it. On the other hand: no mass tourism and a good base for touring the region around to beaches, Chania and other places. All in all, a wonderful stay!!! Also a plus for private parking :)

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay in Chania. Elina was responsive, a generous host, and gave some amazing recommendations! The apartment is clean and stocked for everything you will need for your stay. It is incredibly spacious and private. We would absolutely stay here again.

Incredible views , despite being above all the restaurants , the rooms are well sound proofed and there was no noise at all .. This is more than house. It is a nest. You've got everything, kitchen is great, netflix, air-conditioning, you name it. The place è is quite and you can sleep as a baby. You've got your own parking too! The most powerful thing in the house is the hosts Paula. It was like meeting a family member that you didn't see for years. She was so caring, so kind, lovely. It is hard to describe. Thanks you!

Very nice home and location very nice, walkable to harbor and old town which was very nice! Lots of restaurants! The house was very clean and comfortable and really pretty view of the sea from living room area. The layout was very nice as bathroom on floor of living are and second floor with bedrooms with full bath very nice, lots of room!! My only complaint was, in my opinion, the portrait over master bed was very provocative and also, in my opinion, offensive being a female. Don’t understand why there must be naked pictures of female. This really offended me and can’t understand why??? Laura Rehm

We had a pleasant stay. The apartment is well-equipped, functional with a magnificent view from the apartment and of course from the terrace. We highly recommend it.

Perfect place to visit Crete. Restaurants and supermarkets in feet distance. Easy to go to Balos, Elafonisi and Chania by car. Very comfortable fully equipped apartment. Terrace is really big and amazing. Hosts are very friendly. We came at night and Alisia's mom cooked for us hot fresh greek meal. Thank you so much! Definitely recommend!

This is absolutely our favorite Airbnb that we've ever stayed in (and we've stayed in a lot). The place is adorable. Katerina is very responsive and lives right by the apartment. The view is wonderful, and both the living room and twin bedroom have doors that open onto that view. It has everything you need and more, with Katerina providing treats and even cereal and milk for that first morning. The air conditioning worked well, but there is also a lovely breeze from the sea. There are tons of restaurants and cafes just below the apartment as well as with 5 and 10 minutes walk in Old Town. It would be comfortable for a couple and a third person (such as a child) or two people, each with their own room. The washing machine was great to have, and you can dry clothes on the lines off the balcony. We did not want to leave.

This is really good (because it is difficult to find a parking space on the road nearby) This building is new and has a nice elevator The room is also very clean and cozy, fully equipped, there is also complimentary mineral water in the refrigerator, there is a full-length mirror in the bathroom, a makeup mirror in the bedroom, the hot water is very warm, the lights in the bedroom are also very bright, I like it here ~ I can hear a little bit of the traffic outside in the bedroom, but it's acceptable. It's just that I'm a light sleeper, so I noticed this. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

Our stay in Chania was wonderful. The apartment is very spacious and the outdoor areas are beautiful. Ioanna was very accessible and friendly.

This Airbnb is just like the photos and worth the distance from Old Town (about 0.4 miles). The terrace wraps around the entire flat and has many seating options in sunshine and in shade. It’s surrounded by beautiful, well-cared for plants with a stunning view of the Sea of Crete and of Chania itself. You can take the stairs or there is an elevator. The hostess left some local treats for us as well as a lovely bouquet of flowers! Absolutely top notch! There is also air conditioning if the fresh air is too warm. The hostess was friendly and responsive. This was the best of 4 Airbnb’s we stayed in throughout Europe. The only thing to note is that the electricity is only on when the card is in the holder by the door. So, if you leave with the dryer or dishwasher running or charging devices, they will pause until you return.

We had a great stay at Nikos' place. The view is incredible, you'll want to spend your days on the balcony! The bedding is comfortable, and there is everything available to have a very good stay. Nikos was very welcoming and discreet, he recommended a place to park easily and reach the center of Chania on foot, which was very convenient! In short, we really enjoyed our vacation in this accommodation and recommend it 100%. Thank you Nikos!

The apartment was situated a short walking distance from the Venetian harbor and old town of Chania and was a perfect base for exploring the area. The apartment was also very clean. The host was very helpful and provided detailed instructions to find the location. I arrived on a late flight and the check-in process went very smoothly. Overall I can fully recommend the apartment for a stay in the beautiful city of Chania.

The apartment’s large balcony & location at the quiet end of the Venetian Harbour in Chania old town, was perfect for relaxing and exploring the labyrinthine little alleyways of the old town of Chania. I started and ended the day sitting on the balcony, watching sensational sunsets, the quiet chatter of people in the restaurant below and the mooring and unmooring of boats in the harbour! Christina, my main contact, was outstanding in her responsiveness and assistance in ordering a taxi etc. I would definitely stay here again!
