We had a lovely stay! The home is in a beautifully updated old house that still maintains its historic charm. Everything felt clean and thoughtfully cared for. It was peaceful and quiet, with pretty, farm-like views out the windows—great for relaxing. I also appreciated that it was just a quick 10-minute drive to grocery stores, restaurants, and even a 24-hour gym. One big plus for me: there were plenty of towels and pillows, which I always find makes a huge difference in comfort. Would absolutely stay again!

We loved it! It’s a very nice and quiet area for a perfect weekend getaway at the lake. Of course, we were sold on the idea of having a private dock to use as well. House has plenty of space and we had a lot of fun with their different puzzles and board games available. Zack and Kate are very responsive and friendly hosts.

A great stay on the river. The kitchen was well equipped and the rest of the house was comfortable. The screened in porch and access to the dock/beach/river was our favorite part. Our dogs were in HEAVEN. The location is rather remote, so recommend bringing any food you'll want as there are no close stores or restaurants.

I’m pretty sad that I don’t own this house. Pictures don’t it justice, and the pics are incredible. The house, the cows, the coziness….I’ve already shared this house to a few friends! Kayla was very responsive throughout our stay. 5 stars all around!

Patricia was an amazing hostess. Very gracious made it a home away from home. It was hard to leave for our concert nearby. Very relaxing cabin,we even slept very well there. Normally we don’t sleep well when we are away from home.

TL;DR: this was easily one of our favorite Airbnb experiences. We absolutely cannot wait to come back. We spent a week at Evan's cottage for my wife's birthday. Our party included 5 adults, 2 small pups, and an infant and there was more than enough room for all of us to stay comfortably. Evan was an incredible host- promptly responsed to all of our inquires, and regularly checked in to make sure if we needed anything. The house itself. Hot damn. It is stunning. The landscaping envelopes you in lush greens and blooming flowers, the view overlooking the Chesapeake is amazing, and the house is filled with every amenity you could imagine. (Huge shoutout to all the baby gear - as new parents, this was a lifesaver). The beds we're cozy, the kitchen was *stocked*, and the interior design was ::chef's kiss:: While the immediate area (10ish min drive) has everything covered for basics, you're only a quick trip into Annapolis to get anything else you may need for your trip.

Cute and cozy, this house has unique and unusual features because of its age that make it an interesting place to stay. Loved the frog song from the wetlands in the neighborhood and the proximity to various waterways and scenic views.

This home is just as advertised...it is very large, great for several families vacationing together! Our group was small so we didn't even make use of all of the space. The house is right on Tanner Creek which is just beautiful for sitting on the dock and relaxing, paddleboarding and kayaking, birdwatching, etc. It's also about a mile from Lookout Point State Park which is absolutely gorgeous. Restaurants and grocery stores are few and far between in this area, so it's a good idea to bring your own food, and the kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans for cooking. If you are looking for a place to relax in a calm and beautiful setting, this is it!

If you read the reviews from others who stayed here...they were SPOT ON! Lynn's carriage house is like stepping into an immaculate barndominium. You feel like you are prepping for your fox hunt or what my wife and I did, enjoy a tea or glass of wine in the evenings watching the deer come through the fields or the horses in the far fields graze. PEACEFUL. The house has everything you need from coffee, tea, sweeteners, to spices and pots and pans. Come here to relax. Last, the pool on the listing is at the main house. Never did we feel like it wasn't our own private oasis. So cool to enjoy the pool surrounded by horse properties. Lynn is an excellent host. This is an incredible property.

A Great and Wonderful place to relax and unwind. Peaceful surroundings, trickling waterfall, beautiful nature all perfect to rest and disconnect. Plenty to do with trails to hike, lake to fish or kayak (kayaks provided by host), gorgeous super clear swim pond, fire pit, string lights…. Everything was awesome. Met the host in passing, super friendly and hospitable. Great to chat with. Love their vision and execution of their facilities! Loved the farm store which housed delicious treats and some groceries and even fish bait for fishing on their lake. This place has it all! Our kids cried when our mini vacation was over because they didn’t want to leave (neither did we!) Our youngest wanted to sell our house so we could live here and never leave. We will be repeat renters and can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for sharing your property with us

We brought our dog along for a beach adventure at The Laughing King. We had an amazing time and MJ was a wonderful host. We stayed in the little hi eymoon cottage and it was quaint and well-appointed. The loft ladder was a bit tricky but once you got up there the bed was super comfortable! We enjoyed walking around and exploring Cape Charles (just a quick 15/20 minute car ride away with plenty of free street parking around town) but our favorite day was playing out on the private sand bar with our dog. We all had a blast on the sandbar and next time will pack a lunch and stay out longer! The property itself was secluded, quiet and private. Perfect for sitting on the porch with coffee watching the tide roll in. They had paddle boards and kayaks to use in the calm backwaters as well as a fire pit and a nice pool. The reviews about MJs wonderful breakfasts were spot on - his quiche was superb. Overall we had a wonderful time at The Laughing King and we would highly recommend it

We had a really nice stay at the Rose Retreat! The home is wonderfully appointed with nice furnishings. We especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen with upscale drink and dinnerware. The hand written welcome note, bottle of wine and snacks were so thoughtful - thank you! A perfect location from which to enjoy Irvington and the surrounding towns. We hope to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the pool!

This was our third visit and we have loved being there every time. We travel from Florida to Pennsylvania in the spring and fall and this is the only place we stay two overnights because it’s such a lovely place to be. Chris is as nice and welcoming as anyone could possibly be. Everything you need is there. The pool and hot tub are amazing. The gardens and bird life are like nowhere else. The Graves Mill Trail, about 25 minutes away is a beautiful place to hike. And Chris introduced us last year to old house Vineyards where you can have amazing brick oven pizza on Mondays. We will return again and again!

Words cannot describe how wonderful our stay was. The location, the accommodations, and the ‘residents’ of Grateful Meadows were absolutely magical. We really enjoyed our time there, and are extremely thankful we found it. Such a great experience, thank you!

Wonderful place - pictures do not do it justice. Home is spotless and beautifully furnished! We had a great time relaxing on our babymoon. Lots of great restaurants close by and so much to do at the house you never have to leave. Really appreciated the details such as the coloring station and ample beach towels. Hope to stay again in the future!

The house is even cuter in person, and extremely clean. The hosts have literally thought of everything. Every time I would think “I wonder if they have…?” there it would be. The bed was extremely comfortable, hosts respond very quickly, and the neighborhood was super safe and peaceful. I will definitely be staying here next time I’m in town.

This was our 1st visit to The Crab Shack. All I can say is Wow, just Wow! This was the cleanest, nicest and cutest Airbnb that we have ever stayed at over the years! It was amazing! My husband and I traveled from Sarver, PA with our 2 Golden Retrievers to celebrate our 10 year Wedding Anniversary! We all had the best time ever! We spent most of the time here at the Shack just cooking on the grill and listening to music and the girls did a lot of swimming fetching for balls! Thank you Carlisle and Mary for making our 10 year Anniversary simply perfect! ❤️☀️😎🥂🍾🦀 We can’t wait to come back! ☺️

The Bird House is a tucked away sanctuary on a working farm. Bountiful fishing in the pond - just out the back door. Beautiful sunrises over a Chesapeake tributary-out the front door! A wonderful sun deck with cushioned chaises. We enjoyed visiting with the horses, chickens and cattle. So much to see and experience. We saw butterflies, rabbits, heard very loud frog harmonies, a happy couple of geese, turkeys, and lots and lots of deer. The Bird House was a wonderful place to unwind, slow down and enjoy nature. The furnishings were extremely comfortable and well thought out. Thank you for sharing such a magical place.

I am so grateful to have found the Heron Rock Cottage. We needed a peaceful place to escape to and the cottage was perfect. The photos don’t do justice for how beautiful the cottage and views are. Anne is also a wonderful host. She is quick to respond and was so sweet to leave a home made dessert for us. We stayed during the week and the lake was so relaxing and beautiful. We enjoyed the dock the entire time we were there, as well as fishing, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, and countless wildlife, including deer and otters. We also liked that they created a nature trail on the property. We picked up groceries on the way there, but everything we needed was stocked in the cottage. I also loved the extra special details for our dog, including towels after she had a fun day in the lake and a blanket for her as well. I definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a relaxing, but fun getaway. We look forward to booking again in the future.

This cabin was the perfect find! My best friend and I took a trip here for our birthdays and we had a blast! The cabin was very cute, clean, and had everything we needed for our 3 day trip. It was private and surrounded by lots of trees and nature. The view from the kitchen/dining room and the hot tub is stunning! Pictures do no justice! Brian was a great host! I I have nothing but good things to say about Brian’s cabin. I definitely recommend booking!

This was our second stay with Renee and we enjoyed ans much as our first stay. The property is just beautiful and so peaceful. Our apartment is so comfortable and offers everything that we need, plus some much appreciated extras like shower supplies bottled, water and snacks. We hope to be back again in August.

I have stayed in many airbnbs over the past decade and this is one of my all time favorites. It was so peaceful and felt like a true escape from the world. I loved waking up to the quiet sounds of birds and seeing the farm animals each morning. We also loved playing with Buddy, the farm dog. I never wanted to leave! I can’t wait to come back already. It’s just a short drive (less than 10 minutes) to downtown Cape Charles if you want access to local shops, restaurants, and the beach.
