Our discovery in Akoumia of a great Greco-Cretan family moved us. These are Dimitra and Costas. The reception was beyond our expectations. We found a place with everything you needed when we arrived: kitchen, bathroom, sleeping, bath towels... The food taken from the restaurant, managed by Dimitra, comes from the farm-culture-breeding (goats, sheep), managed by Costas. It's organic. Here's what we find: wine, raki, goat milk, meat, vegetables... healthy quality products. Dithyrambic is the word not usurped. Akoumia is a typical Cretan village. 3 churches in a 200-meter course! A car is necessary for visiting, shopping. The beaches, very pretty, are twenty minutes away. We lived in a novel by Kazantsakis the Greek. Great place to enjoy a peaceful time. Mountain views and swimming pool as a bonus. The location is close to the highway and ~1h away from diverse natural sceneries and cities. A car is needed to go about, Internet is not the best but OK when it worked, the sewage can also let some unwanted smells out but not a terrible thing considering that you are in a cottage in the middle of the forest like Hill. Overall the place is recommended!

An enchanting accommodation in a beautiful and peaceful location. We found very sweet people in the other two houses, and the tables outside and poolside provided a perfect space to have great breakfasts and day-long relaxing chat with each other. The relative isolation of the location provides tranquility and allows you to admire a million stars at night. At the same time, in just 5' by car you reach the village of Vamos where you can find minimarkets, great tavernas and also a great cafeteria/breakfast place (the Ano Kato). Mikela - the host - can be contacted in a matter of minutes and is very helpful. We hope to come back in this magical place at some point in the future.

We stayed at Mikela and Nikos' place for a week. If you are looking for a peaceful and typical place, do not hesitate! The property is really very pleasant, a few kilometers from 2 very nice villages with very good tavernas. The guesthouses are typical and charming, the swimming pool very pleasant. Mikela and Nikos are very attentive, very responsive both by message and on site in case of need. We recommend it!

We, a couple over 60, had a great stay in the apartment with Martina and Niko. Both are unbeatable as hosts: always friendly, always approachable, always ready to give tips and never intrusive. The apartment was super nice and very functional. It is not only really pretty and lovingly furnished, but it is also really everything you need for a successful stay... We felt comfortable and welcome at all times. Martina is a very approachable and warm person who cares very much about the satisfaction of her customers, and who makes possible what is possible! The village is easily accessible on foot. The bakery and good restaurants are also just a few minutes' walk away. It is a little more to the beach... In addition, the beautiful surroundings invite you to excursions. Our heartfelt thanks for the wonderful time and our unconditional recommendation for a stay in Pitsidia

really lovely and quaint home, the beach is a 5 minute walk away and the home is surrounded by amazing restaurants! The hosts were also very responsive, helped us get our bags inside, and left us some complimentary treats which were greatly appreciated and a great touch :)

What a perfect spot to spend holiday! It was very hard to leave this incredible place. This airbnb has provided us with the best holiday memories. We could not have asked for a better holiday home. Nectarios is such a kind and helpful host all the way through, very hospitable! Aptera was the perfect spot for us to spend a vacation on Crete. Easy to reach every place on Crete with a car, and the local tavernas just a short walk from the house provided us with a perfect local feeling. We hope to be back one day!

We had a fantastic stay at Solis Occasum. The hosts were warm and quick to answer any of our questions. The apartment is clean and near all the essentials but in a peaceful neighbourhood to get a good nights rest, not to mention the beds are super comfy! They even left a few treats for us! Should you come to Chania this is a great place to stay. Thank you to the hosts again for a great stay and a friendly welcome.

The villa was in a beautiful and convenient location to Chania. It was within the distance to order meals via delivery. The view was stunning, and the pictures don't truly capture the beauty. They provide everything you need to get started, along with bread, oil, and a bottle of wine. Overall, it's a great location if you're visiting Chania. I would recommend it and stay again.

Top location, 200m from beach, 1km from super markets tavernas and pharmacies, best place for vacations, very friendly staff and neighborhood! I'll visit again in the future for sure!

A very beautiful and comfortable apartment, well designed as a space both internally and externally, with nice decor. Perfect location, with great ease of parking. The hospitality is great, I would love to stay there again, I highly recommend it.

We had an extraordinarily beautiful week in Stefan's apartment. It was all perfect without exception. The apartment is suitable for couples and also for friends, as you can make a bed out of the sofa upstairs. We left today with a heavy heart. Many thanks also to Linda, who fulfilled our every wish, and to the gentleman who tirelessly freed the pool from the Sahara dust. We will be happy to come back.

No words to describe how comfortable we felt during the days that we spent at ‚fotinis house’. The house is amazing, one of the best AirBnb experiences we ever had & Zacharias is the most welcoming person. We recommend 12/10 & we will definitely come back!!! If you are hesitating to book because it’s not “next to the beach”. Please. Don’t fool yourself. Book this place. You can be at the beach in 15mins drive, maximum. But you would miss out on the feeling that you get in this house. Just some highlights: There are multiple spots outside to chill during the morning/day/night with both sun & shadow at all times, very comfortable sleeping atmosphere (the house is made of stone so stays cool during night even if you don’t use the AC throughout), we received the sweetest welcoming fruit basket, recommendations for the area & its very calm overall. Book it :)

Maria and Stelios were very accommodating, friendly and welcomed us personally at check-in. They also took care of us during the stay and even put local specialties on the terrace for us in between. The apartment was exceptionally beautiful. The kitchen is very large and well equipped. We liked to eat on the large terrace and drank coffee on the additional, also large balcony. Terrace and balcony are exclusively for the apartment and equipped with sufficient sun protection, which also offers privacy. The apartment is in a great location. It's only a 3-minute walk to the beach. There you will also find plenty of opportunities to eat or drink coffee. The supermarket is also very close by foot. There are also countless smaller supermarkets, bakeries and other shops in the neighborhood. Everything is accessible without a car. Walking to the old town takes about 20 minutes. We often took the bus (5 min).

Great stay for 5 nights with friends. We also had a 2 year old toddler with us, Stella provided a cot and baby chair which was greatly appreciated. Each room has air conditioning and a mosquito repellent plug is provided in each room which was great. The kitchen is well equipped. Would highly recommend a stay here.
