Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Rideau Canal

We stayed at Donna's house for two nights and were very satisfied.The room is cozy and tasteful, and the mattress and quilt are very comfortable.The room is fully equipped and of excellent quality.

Perfect location for those who want be within walking distance of Elgin Street and Landsdowne Park. Also great location if activities are at the University of Ottawa. Even Sparks St, Parliament Hill and the By Ward Market are not too long walks. Located along on Colonel By Drive so easy access to canal paths and perfect to take advantage of the summer closure of the canal parkways for biking. For there summer (2025) there is a lot of construction (sewer/water mains work) in this part of Ottawa. Noise from the construction was no issue for our weekend stay. However, random road closes can make access (at least following Google Maps navigation) a bit challenging. Just check with the host prior to your arrival for notice of any key road closures. Ince this construction is complete, the home has easy access to both canal parkways, downtown core and Hwy 417.

Quiet and peaceful area. There is a school nearby, so there are children's voices. There are no shops or restaurants around the house, but peace and cool squirrels that you can watch instead of watching TV.

I had a long stay at Hanan's (four weeks), and she made sure that everything was perfect: quiet, clean, safe, nice, completely hassle free, just exactly what I needed at the time. She's also just incredibly nice and friendly, and went above and beyond to be make sure I was comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here for any duration of time, it's in a location with connections that makes it very easy to get downtown, or any other place in Ottawa. Great place close to beach, cycle paths, trendy neighborhood. Spotlessly clean. Below ground but does not feel like a basement. Would come back any time. Responsive host.

Jacob's place was exactly as described. Very good value. Beautiful quiet neighborhood. Spacious room, lots of natural light, very clean, very comfortable bed, lots of nice touches like tea, coffee, cereal, almond milk, etc. He was easy to communicate with. I would happily return to this listing in the future.

Karen's place was great. The location is the perfect distance to downtown and the Parliament Building. Very easy access to the highway if you are traveling away from the city center.

I had a fantastic stay. The place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and in a great location. The host was responsive and friendly, making check-in and communication super easy. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

A fantastic place to stay for a family with a kid.

We had a great stay! The check-in and check-out instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The space was clean and comfortable, and the location was fantastic for what we needed. The bedrooms did run a little warm, but there were tower fans to help circumvent that and keep things comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

Alex's place was great! It's very peaceful and nice area, while being close to recreation, restaurants, bars and all that downtown Ottawa has to offer. The apartment was very comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed. The outdoor space is really nice - and would be even better in warmer/drier weather :) I would highly recommend Alex's place!

Perfect place to stay for a short break in Ottawa. Apartment was clean and tidy, easy to find, and simple to check in to. Great location with plenty of food options nearby, and walkable to all the main attractions in the city. Todd and Lesley were amazing hosts. Had a fault with the door lock on day and they fixed it ASAP which was brilliant. Would recommend to anyone looking to visit Ottawa

Highly recommend, spotless place, a plethora of shopping, including groceries, within walking distance; a very spacious two bedroom with a huge bathroom and open space kitchen/living with giant windows and a huge balcony. Kitchen has everything one could need to whip out a good meal, the host generously provided a supply of good coffee for the drip coffeemaker and a selection of teas as well, a super nice touch after a long drive. We will back.

It is a very lovely room giving you the feeling of home. Good location to the downtown attractions and nearby good supermarkets. Quiet and peaceful environment.

It was a beautiful two-story luxury condominium loft. Perfect for a single person or a couple. The place looked exactly as it appeared in the photos. Helen was always responsive and helpful every time I messaged her. If I ever return back to Ottawa, I will happily book Helen’s condo loft again !!!
