Holiday rentals with a kayak in Rideau River

This was the perfect addition to my wedding weekend! Julie made it extra special with a welcome sign and bottle of champagne to great my guests and I! The place is absolutely stunning, so warm, cozy and just what we needed for a wedding stay with the bridal party. It surpassed my expectations and Julie and her partner were wonderful - we even had a tour and learned some history on the place. Can’t wait to come back !

We had a great stay. This is an old Stone cottage with some more modern additions. it's right by the water although you can't access the river directly from the property, but there is river access just up the hill. the furniture and beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was well set up. 3 bathrooms meant that we had plenty of space. Robyn was lovely and showed us around her nearby Forest school and generally just made us feel really welcome. We enjoyed seeing her chickens on the property (she lives next door). We wished that there was a bit more outside furniture but when I mentioned this to Robyn she said she would work on that, so I expect it'll be present soon. All round this was a great stay, portable air conditioners kept the space comfortably cool, it was a peaceful location and very walkable to the main street of Perth with shops and restaurants.

Esther’s place was exactly as listed. We were in Ottawa for the weekend to attend d a wedding and the place worked out perfectly for us.

Really lovely place on the lake. Lots of seating and communication with Alan was very easy. Had a really great time and will definitely be hoping to come back again!

Beautiful space and great location for our crew that was working in Kemptville. Easy to find and get back and forth. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a place in the area.

We had an amazing time at Pete’s. The location was perfect, we had our own private beach. The kids enjoyed the provided kayaks and water toys. Our dogs lived in the water for 7 days. The house is much bigger than it appears in photos, and has ample room for a large family or group.

If you are going out in that area and looking for a place to stay, highly recommend. Place is just as the pictures show. Very clean.

My family and I stayed for the May Long weekend. The place had gorgeous views, great amenities and a welcoming atmosphere. Communication with the hosts was easy, and they made us feel very welcome. The organization is evident, with a QR code leading you to a guidebook and easy info for wifi access. We loved fishing off the dock, the gorgeous fireplace in the main living room, and a stunning loft where I could work on my novel. There is a varied bookcase full of select authors from several genres. I will definitely consider coming back soon! The place is close to both Perth and Smith Falls, so there are plenty of options for day travel for those who love local shops. Be mindful that the area is woody and rural, so frequent tick checks/ mosquito repellent is a must!

This is a lovely house in a beautiful location! Lots of things to do outside and fully equipped kitchen and large bedrooms inside. The only issue (and it's clearly stated in the description) but not having a washing machine was definitely a drawback. We enjoyed our time and could have stayed longer!

Kiara was a great host. Friendly approachable , attentive and proactive. Her home is lovely, the surroundings were beautiful and the docks were well maintained , which was a plus , as we brought our boat to explore the river and spent tons of time watching otters, eagles, herons, fish ( and fishermen floating by!) from the dock. The beds and sheets were luxurious, which was so very welcome as we stayed for two weeks. I read in the reviews about the “bonus goats” and chickens but truly didn’t recognize how important they are to encouraging relaxation !! Loved the whole experience. Thank you, thank you!

This was our 3rd time staying at Jennifer and Tom's beautiful cottage. It is a great location for day trips to Ottawa yet secluded enough to just relax. Fantastic hosts and lots of personal touches. Highly recommend.

From the moment I arrived I was relaxed. I spent 5 weeks at Tracy's and enjoyed every minute. The space was well organized and had everything I needed. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds are comfortable but what I enjoyed most of all was the calm peaceful surroundings and incredible view. Since the house is up high, you have good vantage of the lake from the inside of the cottage. I could work away - glance up and feel instant calm. I enjoyed walking the surrounding area in the mornings and evenings and popping into the Generations restaurant. I plan to return.

The Row Cottages are an absolute gem! I’m so glad we found them - we will certainly be return guests. Very inviting and peaceful. Gives one the chance to reconnect and get priorities in order. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Becky and Josh, and hugs to the most awesome Golden Retriever ever, I believe his name is Teddy. He joined my husband in the lake for swim and was very entertaining.

Wow. The views of the lake from from this place are absolutely stunning! We had a great time and were very comfortable here. We loved the hot tub and the kayaks and paddle boards that were provided for use on the lake. I would definitely stay here again if I was looking for a tranquil place near Ottawa.

Dayna and David are INCREDIBLE hosts. They took care of every detail and looked after us when we were effectively snowed in. Their home is creative, beautiful, peaceful, spacious. I could not have asked for a better place to stay. The whole neighbourhood is gorgeous and talk about lovely people! We want to come back in the summer. And the sauna! Let me tell you, in the winter, this was the sweetest treat. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience and how we were treated - like close friends. They get my highest recommendation.

John’s place is excellent! It’s really well kept and thoughtfully set up for essentials and everything in between. It’s a beautiful location- the private dock by the lake was the highlight of our trip. We stayed for 3 nights and we wished we had it longer. We miss it already and would love to be back.

We had an amazing time at Alison’s beautiful cottage. It felt so cozy and welcoming, with everything as described. We loved the private setting with no one around us. It was the perfect week to enjoy the waters, kayaking and floating around in the lake. Definite bonus that the cottage is pet friendly as we always love to include our fur babies when travelling. The place was super clean and comfortable. Alison was amazing in her communications and replied right away to any questions or inquiries. She even brought over a hose for us when we asked. Thank you so much for having us and we look forward to coming back to Closs Crossing next year! Highly recommend!!

The place was just what we needed to unwind and get away from it all. Our favourite part of the cabin was the screened porch. It was airy and comfy, looking out to a pond. All you hear all day long are sounds of nature such as frogs, chipmunks, squirrels, and birds like woodpeckers, hawks, ducks, and loons. Blair is a great and responsive host who even took time to show us around Long Lake on canoe and kayak.

We had such a great stay at this place! Super calm, peaceful, and surrounded by trees with an awesome view of the lake. Mornings were especially lovely, with the harmony of birdsong adding to the relaxing atmosphere. The sauna and hot tub were a big bonus and really added to the relaxation vibe. It’s in a beautiful green area, away from the noise of city life, but still just about 20 minutes from stores and local spots. We also loved the little extras like kayak, projector, and all the games and board games definitely made our family time even more fun. The team was super responsive and helpful, answering all our questions quickly. My family and I really enjoyed our time here, thank you for everything Breathe Vacation Rentals!

We loved it! The cottage is located in a private area on the lake, well-decorated, and has 4 levels making it very spacious. The hottub and sauna were awesome - perfect for our winter stay. We liked the couch in the downstairs living room as it was big and comfortable, and we appreciated the Roku for easy streaming. We had no issues driving to the cottage even after heavy snowfall - the private road and driveway were cleared. Walkways, stairs and decks were also cleared. Plenty of room outside for walks with a dog and other activities. We would highly recommend Siobhan’s cottage!

I wish I could give 1000 stars. His little slice of heaven on the lake in the woods was amazing. He was an amazing host. We will definitely be back and we are going to bring out daughter next time.

We had an amazing 4-night stay at this charming lakeside cottage! It was the perfect escape for our family—peaceful, beautifully maintained, and just steps from the water. The host was incredibly thoughtful and responsive, going above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. We appreciated the last-minute installation of the air conditioning—it made a huge difference during the hot weather and kept the cottage cool and comfortable throughout our stay. Everything was clean, well-equipped, and exactly as described. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing lakeside retreat!

We loved our stay at the Lewis Family Cottage. Located in Perth just an hour from downtown Ottawa, it was the perfect spot to get away for the weekend. Located right on the lake we spent the days lounging on the dock and swimming. Inside the cottage has a functional layout and tasteful cottage decor - lots of natural light. Even on a hot day, fans were enough to keep the place a reasonable temperature. The screened in porch was a very nice feature, as were the paddle board, canoe and kayak. Host was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Would love to come back to this lakeside oasis in the future! Thanks Lewises :-)

Very clean and cozy cabin, the host was very helpfull and had clear instructions. The ability to dock my boat right at the property was a bonus. Fishing was great on the lake, the average size of pike and bass are small but very good for someone with young kids that have short attention spans as the lake is infested with little rock bass that are easy to catch. The cabin is very clean and has everything you need. The highway nearby might be the only downside to this place but it didn't bother us during our stay. I would book again.
