We loved our stay at The Annex. Our host Julie met us on arrival and was very friendly. The property was beautifully laid out, had everything you’d need. Extra touches such as milk, bread and home made flapjacks (delicious 😊) were very much appreciated. Would love to return!

Very pleasant stay Dean was very helpful the full English breakfast was great both days great base for exploring the lakes we would definitely stay there again only slight negative was the shower wasn’t very powerful and the bed was a bit uncomfortable but that wouldn’t stop us visiting again thanks

We had an absolutely wonderful stay with Sian who is a wonderful host! We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with her about shared interests and the local area as she showed us around the beautiful and immaculately presented house (which is even better than the photos). Our room was spotless and beautifully furnished. Location was ideal, on the edge of the stunning village of Grassington surrounded by countryside, walks, swims and plenty of other attractions well placed nearby. Lovely sheltered and private spot, excellent breakfasts to set you up for your days adventures! We love it here and can't wait to come back! Thank you Sian!

Handy base with easy access to a proper coffee in the village and to the lakes. One thing thats great about this air BnB is the seasonal garden fresh goodies that may be picked if available for your breakfast selection. Along with Sarah's homemade Bread, jam and yogurt.

Stayed 4 days in Paul’s lovely cottage, just a short walk from Hawkshead village. The accommodations were as expected and Paul could not have been a more gracious host. He has a wealth of local knowledge and directed us on some beautiful walks. Breakfasts were fantastic! Would absolutely return in a heartbeat.

Great peaceful stay in beautiful location, opposite the marshes... a stunning sunset walk! Delicious breakfasts, Raphaela went out of her way to cater a tasty vegan breakfast. One of my favourite breakfasts in a long time! Thank you for a warm and friendly stay, would highly recommend :)

I had a lovely time at Joyce’s home. She was so welcoming and helpful and I felt very comfortable all the time I was there. I was very happy with my comfortable bed, spotless bathroom and private sitting room. And Joyce provided lots of good information and advice for my exploration of Hadrian’s Wall. I really enjoyed staying in Hexham.

Fiona couldn't have been more welcoming; we travelled to climb the three peaks and arrived slightly later in the evening and all was accommodated. The room was comfortable, clean and tidy. Breakfast was delicious and we would happily stay again!

Had a lovely stay with Steve & Harriet. Warm, friendly welcome in a lovely homely cottage. Bed was really comfortable, it was peaceful and the surroundings are beautiful. Steve made me a delicious breakfast in the morning too. Also worth noting that as a solo female travelling for work, I felt completely comfortable and safe in Steve’s lovely home, thank you.

Heather and Craig were very helpful and friendly, with great communication and local recommendations. Everything in the room was high quality and the location was fantastic for access both to the lake and town centre. The breakfast was delicious!

Great 1 night getaway above Heidi’s cafe. Great central location to start and end walks in the area. Good communication and instructions from Emma to get into the property. Car parking extra but plenty nearby (£10 for 24 hrs). Lovely quirky room with a balcony (rm 6). Really good breakfast with very helpful staff (Craig). Gluten free catered for, for my wife. The only addition which would make the room perfect would be a small fridge. Will be back at some point in the near future. Thank you.

For a foreign visitor, this was a wonderful opportunity to experience an authentic British lifestyle — just like what you see in classic British TV dramas. The lovely couple, the peaceful countryside setting, everything felt truly English. What impressed me most was the traditional English breakfast — beautifully prepared with a great sense of ritual. From the tableware to the coffee, tea, toast, and fresh fruit, every detail was thoughtful and full of charm. Above all, I truly admired the hosts — their professionalism and passion for life were inspiring and left a deep impression on me.

Tony was a great host! We went to Kendal for a very casual getaway and the BnB was in an amazing location. Tony was really friendly, helpful and even had lovely breakfast items prepared for us. The bedroom was cosy and we felt right at home. thank you so much for having us!

My two friends and I had a wonderful stay at Sara’s. Sara gave us a special Isaac’s Tea Trail package providing dinner as well as bed and breakfast. The meals were all delicious, and very appreciated as we were on foot and unable to drive to nearby pubs. The house and location is beautiful and we were greeted with tea, warm crumpets and a log fire - perfect after a long wet walk. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Sara is a fantastic warm host and so interesting to talk to. I’d highly recommend staying - you won’t want to leave though.

I arrived earlier than check in just to advise that I was actually there and was not a no show due to me not returning till late that night. I was given my keys and had immediate access to the room and a quick drink in the bar before I went to do my thing . A lovely place to come home to with friendly locals in the bar while I was having a nightcap :-)

Our stay at Mark's place was short & cozy ! He helped us with tips during our late arrival and his team kindly greeted us in the evening. We had a nice and calm night stay in a interesting surrounding of a pristine old village pub ! Would recommend to walkers keen on accessing or finishing the Hadrian's wall path ! :)

We had a truly wonderful experience at Liz’s farm and cherished every moment of our stay. The house — especially the bedroom and breakfast room — was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, with every detail carefully considered to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. Liz is a warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable host. We learnt so much about the farm’s heritage and history, and thoroughly enjoyed her engaging conversations. She also gave us fantastic local recommendations and served delicious breakfasts and afternoon tea. The sweeping fields, dotted with freely roaming animals, added to the charm and made our stay feel uniquely immersive. A memorable and heartwarming countryside escape — we would love to return!
