The perfect getaway. Stunning, peaceful property. Being welcomed by the sounds of the Guinea fowls and the rushing river made me so happy and calm. The accommodation itself was perfectly clean, homely, comfortable with absolutely everything we needed. The little touches like the lux bedding, the fresh milk and the torch by the door were great extras. And I really appreciated the close parking and the table and chairs sat by the river. Can't wait to return. Highly reccomend the host Madonna at The Granary. Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

We booked at short notice within a couple of days & Sara & Matthew couldn't have been more responsive & accommodating to our needs, especially travelling with a 7mth old. The space was set in their beautiful house with picturesque surrounding gardens & with a spectacular view over the sands. We could easily come and go as we pleased with the private access to the accommodation. Sara & Matthew were very hospitable & friendly. It was easy to find with the information provided - a great gem of a location to explore the lakes & surrounding area - great value for money & would stay again in the future.

We loved our stay at The Annex. Our host Julie met us on arrival and was very friendly. The property was beautifully laid out, had everything you’d need. Extra touches such as milk, bread and home made flapjacks (delicious 😊) were very much appreciated. Would love to return!

Ellie’s place was the perfect place to stay - peaceful, spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved getting to meet the alpacas out the back too! Would highly recommend!

Great peaceful stay in beautiful location, opposite the marshes... a stunning sunset walk! Delicious breakfasts, Raphaela went out of her way to cater a tasty vegan breakfast. One of my favourite breakfasts in a long time! Thank you for a warm and friendly stay, would highly recommend :)

Helen and her family were friendly and welcoming. This is a lovely, homely, peaceful place to stay. The cottage is extremely well equipped and spacious. This was my second visit here, hopefully not my last!

We had a fabulous stay in this beautiful flat, full of beautiful original features. It's so spacious and our kids loved staying in the castle! We had everything we needed and Caroline was great at keeping in touch. Many thanks Caroline!

Shepherd’s Heft was perfect for our long Bank Holiday stay, close to Hadrian’s Wall and a short walk into Haltwhistle. Everything we needed was provided in the cottage. Easy to walk out with the dog, and to park safely.

We had a wonderful stay! Lilia was incredibly responsive and friendly, making everything easy from start to finish. The home is in a peaceful, relaxing area and was perfect for our family—including our little one and dog. We really appreciated how accommodating and welcoming everything was. Highly recommend!

We had a very comfortable stay at Brenda's. The space was neat, clean and cosy. And is thoughtfully stocked with all things travelers might need on the go. It's next to the bay, and one can take a lovely walk there. Would definitely recommend this snug spot!

We absolutely loved our stay with Lucy & Nick, their annex was a perfect little getaway during a busy period in our lives and we were very warmly welcomed! What could be better than spending our mornings walking through beautiful woods and by the reservoir or our evenings barbecuing and sitting out under the stars and the lights. We could not recommend this place more highly for those seeking a quiet getaway in the countryside! But also it's very accessible, with the lovely towns of Blanchland, Corbridge and Hexham a short drive away, good shops at Hexham and Consett, and good walking at Derwent Reservoir, the Durham Dales and at Hadrian's Wall. We will definitely go back!

Great Host and well kept and clean accommodation. Ideal for long weekend trips and close to nearby towns and only a stone throw away from the Cumbrian Kart Racing Track.

Pamela was the most amazing host meeting us at the gate as we arrived. Beautiful surrounds, spotless accommodation with absolutely everything you could need. Keith and Pamela gave us great advice on what to do and see and even dropped us at the local pub for dinner. Amazing hosts. Such a beautiful place to stay away from the hustle and bustle. The perfect ending to our 3 week trip from Australia. Thank you so much ☺️ 🙏

Really peaceful stay. The place is incredibly clean and has everything you need. Emma is also a lovely and responsive host. Would recommend to anyone wanting to explore the nearby areas including the Lake District.

A great place for our stopover en route to Hadrian's Wall. The room was spotless and well-appointed, the facilities excellent (kitchen, washing machine) and Susan was super-helpful and welcoming. Nice meals available locally as well. Would definitely come back again.

We had a lovely stay at Marj’s place. Marj was very helpful and friendly and we were made to feel really welcome and right at home. We were delighted with the invitation to feed the lambs with her and to meet the other animals. The place was really comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed, Marj left us lots of breakfast items as well as a beer and little bottle of wine in the fridge- perfect after a long drive. We had a great night’s sleep in the comfy beds and woke refreshed for the day’s drive ahead to Ben Nevis. Thanks again Marj, we would definitely book again.

Had a great night's stay! I got clear instructions from Jo on how to get there and how to check-in should they not be there, they even left me room to park a car on their drive. Jo was very friendly and accommodating and, when I arrived, showed me to my room which had access to the back garden. It was very cosy and had a private shower room and toilet attached. There was a ladder to my bed, which was fine for me but might not be suitable for someone older, but the bed was very comfy and I slept well! Jo had left some breakfast items for me and a kettle in my room to have a cup of coffee and some porridge before I left, which was a lovely touch! Overall, I would definitely stay here again! Lynn & Reg are so friendly and make you feel so welcome at home straight away. Their little cottage is so nice, the photos don’t do it justice. Private garden for the dogs and endless places to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. The beach is literally 2 mins walk down a track and we had it to ourselves the whole time we were there. We look forward to going back and spending more time there.
