could not fault, place was clean and tidy, view from balcony was lovely. nice and quiet for relaxing, lots of places nearby for taking the dog for a walk,I would recommend. The only thing that would maybe make it even better is a slightly later checkout than 10am

Cosy, spacious, and comfortable cottage with beautiful garden and outlook. Just a 5 minute walk to the rocky coast path, or 15 minutes to the spectacular Rockcliffe Beach. We stayed during very wet and windy December weather but because the cottage was so warm and the picture window view over the garden, and fields down to the sea was so special the weather didn’t seem to matter. Many birds in the garden and we saw 2 wild deer during the storm whilst we were out walking, just 200m from the house.

A fantastic place to stay… off the beaten track in and amongst the trees surrounded by nature. Very private! The lodge is well equipped, comfortable, warm and with spectacular gardens. We had a lovely long weekend and even saw a red squirrel a few times doing a nut run. Recommend others going to the Butchers and Fishmongers in Kirkcudbright to stock up. Fantastic produce and a great price! Please note the Sat Nav does NOT take you to the right place so follow the detailed instructions (including photos). You can walk from the Lodge to Rockcliffe and Kippford through the forest which is a stunning walk (perfect for dogs off lead) and takes about 30/40 minutes. Bring your own dishwasher tablets, oil and everything else you might need to cook with.

Cosy cottage was listed as dog friendly and indeed IT WAS !. I can’t explain how many self catering establishments say dog friendly and when you arrive it’s nothing like dog friendly. The garden is completely enclosed by secure fencing…which meant we could leave the doors open for the dogs to pop in and out. It was a delight to find an outdoor tap to wash mucky feet before entering the cottage. We all had a great and relaxing holiday would we book it again in a heart beat.
