Cottage holiday rentals in Roscommon County

I booked this beautiful home after my first reservation and host cancelled on me due to the storms. Well, I can say… we are so happy with our stay. It was exactly as described and even better than expected. April really is a one of a kind host, so good that I had to take notes for my own Air bnb adventure. She thought of everything! I’ve never had a better stocked kitchen. We always cook and make a big meal and we sure did not want for anything. We were even greeted with a local baked good and extra sheets and blankets for the dogs. These hosts were the best I’ve had in Michigan, if not the whole country. I’m thankful for people who truly consider someone’s stay and thinks of it all. Thank you again to the hosts. The Cabin was spotless and one of my favorite features was the deer lights.

We had a great time at Stacey’s place. Her home was very relaxing, a quick walk to the lake and dog-friendly—which is huge. Everyone in the area was friendly and respectful. We enjoyed spending time at the maplehurst dock, in the backyard at the bonfire pit under the tall trees and bistro lights, and relaxing inside playing games and watching shows. From s’mores ingredients and condiments to paper products and bath essentials, the house had all the extras that lots of other rentals ask you to bring. If you’re going to be staying during a hot week (above 80), we recommend bringing an extra fan for the main space. Otherwise, the windows kept the place cool and comfortable. We’d definitely stay here again.

Michelle's Cabin was fantastic! It was the perfect place for our family to stay for a few days! Michelle was extremely helpful before and during our stay to ensure our group had everything needed to enjoy some family time on Higgins Lake! The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of room for our family to sit down to have quality time throughout our vacation. Michelle offers two kayaks for use while staying at the cabin, wifi access, two Roku TV's, an outdoor area with firepit, as well as an indoor fireplace and a breezeway with a table so you can still have a meal outdoors and stay dry if it were to rain. We would definitely stay at Michelle's cabin again!

We had a fantastic stay at this wonderful cottage! The space was clean, cozy, and incredibly well-organized, with a kitchen that was impressively well-stocked with everything we needed. The location was absolutely perfect for exploring Houghton Lake, Higgins Lake, and the surrounding area—close to everything, yet peaceful and relaxing. Nicole and Matthew were extremely responsive and helpful, making everything smooth and stress-free. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

We secured a cabin with Whitetail Family Resort on short notice due to family circumstances. The booking was swift and simple with quick responses from Tom and his crew. The cabin was very accommodating, especially for having two dogs. Good pricing for a nice scenic view of Houghton Lake North Bay. It was a clean cabin and was more spacious than the pictures show. We added another day at ease with a discounted price. I recommend these cabins to anyone else with a family and dogs.

Beautiful view of the lake. I enjoyed watching the thunderstorm roll in on Friday night. Unfortunately our trip was cut short due to an emergency back home. Rosann was very understanding of the situation and credited us for 1 night.

This was a great little getaway. Beautiful property. Highly recommend if you love getting outside and finding places around town. Amazing host!! That dvd collection is unbeatable!

We have stayed at the cabin multiple times because it is in a good location for ATV riding, clean, good tv and wifi, and the host is very helpful.

We loved the home. Lots of space for our family. Beautiful right on the lake. Jennifer was a great host very responsive. We loved that we could use the kayaks and Lilly pad. Had a great time. We will be going back. 😊🥰

Jillian and Tim's place was beautiful and right on Houghton Lake. It was clean and the sunrise was gorgeous. We were barely here because we had a baseball tournament in West Branch, but it was a very cozy spot to sleep and seemed like a great place to spend a weekend on the lake!

Melissa did a nice job and everything was as presented. She provides good communication and instructions were right on. We were golfing at Forest Dunes so the location was perfect. Local restaurants and pizzeria nearby as well as a nice grill for steaks. The place suited our needs perfectly.

Great home to host our work girls trip. We had a relaxing weekend with the wood fireplace and watched movies. Boyne is about an hour away so it was a beautiful scenic drive. Beds are super comfortable with lots of space. Kitchen well equipped with everything needed.

My husband and I and our two girls had a wonderful time. The girls loved the loft area. Beautiful fall colors. We went to the Charlevoix Apple Fest while in town, and found some petoskey stones as well. Highly recommended wood shop social restaurant in Mount Pleasant. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We loved our stay! The house was perfect and close the lake and easy to get to surrounding lakes and close local stores and restaurants! It was perfect to come home after a day fishing to get warm and cozy! Ed is an amazing host! He helped get us to the ice shanty each day! He even made sure our car was cleaned off and shoveled the snow! We made a lot of great memories that will last a lifetime!

Really neat place! Super open and clean. Would be happy to come back.
