Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Rouillac

This is a beautiful place to stay on the banks of the Charente which we enjoyed from the canoe but just loved seeing it flowing along edging the grounds. We came on the train which is a very easy journey from Paris to Jarnac. It is then less than an hours walk along the cycle path or quicker along the very quiet road. The market in Jarnac is excellent and there’s some nice cafes and bars. In Bourg Charente itself the bar tabac sells morning baguette and croissants, especially good to put an order in the day before. Also in the village La Ribaudiere restaurant was absolutely amazing and an experience not to be missed. So this is a great place to stay if you are car free like us but bicycles really help too especially with direct access to the 400 km path La Flow Velo. Lots of fun! Thanks to Andrea and Dominic.

A gem of a place ! It is not easy to find places in the region that are not exorbitantly expensive or furnished from grandma's leftovers; this hits a perfect note with a mixture of stylish antiques and comfort, everything has been thought of down to the Savon de Marseille in the bathrooms! Clearly lots of love has been poured into the house and it shows, from a well stocked larder with everyday essentials (including coffee pods for the machine) to the lovely welcome hamper. The garden at the back overlooking the old monastery is perfect and very secluded and even though it was only April I managed to eat outside each morning and evening (there are 3 other terraces too). The host is on hand easily for tips on where to eat or visit if needed. Tusson is a great village with a good places to eat including the wonderful Gateaux for amazing cakes.

Small functional apartment on one level, quiet in a small village near Angoulême and Charente. Small private courtyard that can be used as a terrace and also as a parking space for the car. Friendly welcome.

The appartment is fantastic. Stylish and comfortable with everything you need. Its within easy reach of shops, places to eat or just sit and have a coffee, the market, walks by the river and there are bus stops close by, but its quiet at night too. We spent a very pleasant week here. The flat is well located for touring the area and has good amenities in walking distance. The size is good and everything we needed was there. The secure parking was very useful. Sylvain was a great host, very responsive.

A luxury studio in such a beautiful building, with a fantastic garden where many birds sing. We had good weather, wonderful outside, looked at Saintes but even more relaxing in the garden. Excellent
