  • This is a beautiful space, actually wish we spent more time in it during our stay. Our favorite thing was the kitchen (gas stove!) and all the amenities provided- coffee, tea, some cold beers in the fridge upon arrival. Super awesome and would definitely stay here again. Great job on this cozy studio!

  • When you stay here you can expect an excellently clean and beautiful place to stay put together stylishly and filled with great amenities. We had so much fun playing with the provided board games and stayed so cozy while doing so. We were able to cook and hangout peacefully any time during our stay and it made it so nice to come back to after a long day out after seeing the sites! 10/10 would recommend.

  • Comfy bed, great stylish space.

    David2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • By far the cleanest and highest quality finish air bnb we’ve ever stayed in. This space provided the best base during our hiking trip and is a short walking distance into eureka town centre and a charming pizza place around the corner ‘brick&stone’ that had incredible food and wine choices for a special date night! Elizabeth & Matt were so friendly and quick to respond to any questions/suggestions you may have during your stay. The space was so well equipped with everything you need in a small house and quickly became very homely for us. We wish all air bnb could live up to this high standard stay! Thanks so much for having us!

  • Lovely little home in a perfect location. Very clean and cozy, comfortable bed, and great communication from the hosts. Really enjoyed our stay!

    Brianna2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the space, it was very clean, stylish, comfortable, a very well thought out place and the small touches were welcomed. The bed linens were outstanding and the bed very comfortable. We hope to be able to stay here again.

    Mark2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful stay and an amazing price for the level of convenience & cleanliness! Very comfortable and spotless, definitely would stay again, and we suggest this to those thinking of visiting Eureka- I guarantee there isn’t a better spot.

    Alawnah2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and Elizabeth’s place always exactly what we needed at a halfway point between Fort Bragg, CA & Coos Bay, OR. We enjoyed walking around old town Eureka admiring the old Victorian Homes and hiking along the local redwood trails in Arcata. This loft was the perfect little hideaway with just the right amount of amenities including laundry pods so we could wash our clothes half way through this trip. (So great!) Everything you need for cooking is supplied though I do recommend bringing some additional flavours/sauces/spices if you want something other than olive oil, salt and pepper. There are lots of grocery stores near by so you can pick up anything you need locally. I highly recommend Matt and Elizabeth’s place and would definitely stay here again.

    Heather2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Very clean. Very good communications. Really appreciate the hospitality!

    Brian2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place for our weekend getaway. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The loft bedroom cleverly made the house feel spacious. Though you can’t stand in the loft, it was plenty comfortable for the night. Would definitely recommend this place, especially with Matt & Elizabeth being great hosts who were communicative and responsive to all our questions and concerns.

  • We head up to the Arcata/Eureka area often due to our daughter attending college in the area. This last visit, we stayed in Elizabeth’s place. It is so cute. Well furnished, clean and charming. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were nice and crisp. She offers some nice amenities, WiFi, television, a lovely dining area separate from the bungalow and an outside shower with plenty of privacy. There was also a wonderful cast iron gas stove to keep us toasty, as we visited during Winter. What a wonderful place! We look forward to staying again soon!

    Erica2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable bungalow with a lovely garden outside. I would definitely stay again.

    Melynda2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We felt as if we were in a space with “happy walls”. All the windows provided a lightness and the feeling of being connected with the outdoors! It was very functional and welcoming, and the tips on where to dine we’re spot on.

Colorful corner is a private room tucked away in the back of my house in a quiet area of Eureka . The room has a private entrance off the backyard, with an attached full bath. Since I work full time, I offer keyless entry for ease of convenience. Guests can enjoy the attached deck off the room and relax in a colorful, relaxing yard. The room is a burst of color to contrast with the gray days in Humboldt. The room is a 15 minute walk to the zoo, hiking trails, hospitals, shopping and restaurants.
The guest room, although small, is perfect for one person and cozy for two. Life is too short for white walls! I wanted my space to be unique, fun, and express my personality. I hope it makes you smile! I provide coffee, tea, hot cocoa, bottled water, granola bars and fresh fruit to get your day started. I also provide shampoo and body wash in the walk in shower, and other travel essentials that you may have forgotten.
My home is in a quiet, established and desirable area of east Eureka. I can guarantee you'll have a quiet and restful stay. The majority of restaurants in old town are a quick five minute drive. There are also several restaurants within a 15 minute walk from my house. If you're looking to be in the middle of night life and eateries, my home wouldn't be the best option. The trade off for a restful sleep and quiet neighborhood will definitely differ with the noise and traffic of a downtown room.
  • We really enjoyed our stay, the room was clean and stylish. Pat is really nice and made sure we had all we need! She also gave us places to go for dinner/breakfast! I definitely recommend

    Marion2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Pat’s listing was the perfect locale for a trip to the Redwoods National Forest. The listing is adorably decorated and Pat was so accommodating and welcoming. Will definitely be staying here again when coming through Eureka! You can’t beat the price!

    Logan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great stay! The place was cozy and little snacks and water bottle were convenient. Pat was really kind and responsive.

    Jeeyun2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Pat is a splendid host! Absolutely marvellous! Not only is she efficient and prompt with her communication, but also she is really friendly and outgoing with regards to meeting personally. The location is relatively easy to get to in town. Pat has decorated the room imaginatively in a "beach house" motif, with those kind of pastel colors; very cute and imaginative. There are plenty of amenities available . . . and Pat has also supplied many current brochures and magazines that guides, etc. The bed is comfortable. There is a private entrance in the back of the house; no need to receive & return a key because electronic key code-lock is in the door. The bathroom, with a shower stall, is private to the room. The room also has a TV, microwave, and a small refrigerator. And . . . for those cold times, a small electric heater is provided! I think that anyone that stayed here would be the thrilled.

    Ray2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was amazing. We loved everything about her and her place. Would definitely go back any chance we get. Thank you again Pat.

    Katayoun2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I love staying at Pat's when I'm in town visiting my son. It's my home away from home!

    Tresca2020-02-19T00:00:00Z

    Sarah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Pat’s place was just perfect. Homey with every amenity you could want. Just wish it hadn’t rained so we could have enjoyed the cute porch more! Would recommend to anyone who needs a place to stay in Eureka.

    Gloria2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jana provides a beautiful, warm, lovely abode that is very much a sanctuary. From the flowers everywhere to the yummy granola and other breakfast offerings, not to mention all her wonderful art, Jana's home was an inviting place to return to after my day's activities. We got to chat for a bit, and she is a lovely, engaging person.

The MiL is located just a short (10-15 mins) walk to Old Town Eureka. We are also about a 20 minute walk to Henderson Center. We are a few blocks away from Brick and Fire, a lovely restaurant. We also have our own walking distance dive bar!
The apartment is located on top of our garage. It is situated behind a gated area. You will share the gated area with the occupants (us). We are currently working on landscaping our yard. Sorry if we kick up any dust or if things aren’t looking so nice in the yard. Feel free to use the yard and the herbs in the raised bed! Due to past guests not following pet rules, I will now post the rules clearly in this section. I would hope future guests can follow these VERY simple rules. 1. Please inform me if you are bringing a dog. We LOVE dogs and want to make sure they meet our dogs to avoid any issues. 2. Please, please, please, I beg of you all, DO NOT ALLOW YOUR PET(S) ON THE FURNITURE. This is a shared space at the end of the day. We want pet lovers and non-pet lovers to enjoy the space. I really do not want to ban dogs, but again due to folks not following the rules, I am on the brinks of asking people not to bring their pets. Please respect these rules for us and for future guests.
10-15 min walk to Old Town Eureka. There’s a restaurant, Brick and Fire, that is about a 5 min walk from the apt.

The place is pretty centrally located in town, and perfect for a trip to Humboldt county to see the redwoods and beaches, hike, bike, or just hang around town. The place was super clean with a lot of charm and all the amenities we needed for our stay of 4 days. If I could rate our hosts higher than I was allowed to, I would. I can't wait to go back.

Plenty of privacy in this studio room with private entry, "3/4" bathroom (shower - no tub) and "kitchenette" with sink, filtered drinking water, mini coffee maker, toaster oven, & mini fridge. In scenic Old Town near boutiques, restaurants, and bars. Please *read house rules* prior to booking - Old Town is the urban "downtown" of this county and some nights there is noise. This studio is a GREAT deal compared to even the cheapest motels on the noisy highway, but noise is a possibility here, too.
The studio is a cozy, simple little place -- nothing fancy -- just an inexpensive, private place to stay that is conveniently located to the local attractions. Like most houses in Eureka this place was built over 100 years ago, it is not renovated or gentrified, and it has its quirks if you're not accustomed to older homes.
The studio is located in walking distance to historic Old Town Eureka and its coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, the Eureka Tourism Center, and famous Victorian architecture like the Carson Mansion and the Pink Lady mansion. It is also walking distance to the waterfront walking path, the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center and the Adorni Center for public recreation.
  • Wonderful place to stay!

  • Place is great

    Fernando2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Basic amenities provided, walkable distance to downtown Eureka shops and restaurants. No problem parking on street right in front of guest room door.

    Dana2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend staying here every thing is great. I enjoyed every minute of it.

    Shaunah2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Katherine was very accommodating with my schedule. The studio was very clean and comfortable in the perfect downtown location. Next time I am in Eureka I'm hoping to stay here again.

    Francis2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Overall my stay here was great! The space was cute and comfortable. As mentioned in previous comments the homeless crowd does hang around across the street but they mind their business and I had no issues at all! I will stay here again!!!!

    Dominique Michelle2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Katherine’s place was quiet, small, and cute— everything we were expecting. Although, the heater made loud banging sounds so it made it a bit difficult to sleep and the location wasn’t the nicest. There’s a public library right across the street from our stay and there was a lot of people loitering there. Besides that, it was fine all around! :)

    Asia2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great value. Simple check-in and cute spot! I love the old school heater. So nice and toasty :) Easily walkable to shops, bars, and food. This is not a complaint at all, but to affirm what was said in the description...there is some noise. It didn’t make it hard to fall asleep and it didn’t cause me to wake up through the night or anything, but there is a good amount of foot traffic and you can hear the conversations people are having as they walk by. Again no problem for me! But for people who want absolute silence and to not hear foot traffic this might not be the spot for you. Everyone else I would definitely recommend staying here.

Delightful garden apartment All new, beautiful, clean, and peaceful.
whimsical and welcoming space. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable with full kitchen, select comfort sleep # mattress, and walk in tub. Conveniently located 3 minutes from McKay community forest, 5 minutes from Henderson center, 7 minutes from waterfront and Old Town, 15 minutes from HSU and Arcata.
Very quiet and safe residential neighborhood (Myrtletown) in north end of Eureka.
  • Great, clean space which was a great value and recommend to anyone

    Tristan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for an extremely clean, quiet place to stay at a very affordable price I would strongly recommend Shullie's. Kitchen was great and even stocked with essentials including organic half&half for my morning coffee. Only thing that would have made it better for me would be a shower, bath tub is tiny. But overall I was very pleased.

    Terry2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! Perfect weekend getaway

    Benji2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! We especially loved the closet space and storage, which made everything easier. Very nice space and location, would definitely stay again.

  • If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay, and enjoy to cook look no further. This is the place to enjoy and explore around the area. Close to multiple stores, down town, and beach.

    Jessica2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Shullie's place is clean, comfortable and quiet. We loved the sleep number bed and the sit-in tub was a luxury. The garden is really nice -- even in the winter. Would definitely stay here again.

  • The Gecko House is amazing. The location is very easy to get to and the place itself is huge forethe price. The full kitchen made it easy to cook meals and the bed comfy. I could not have asked for more out of an airbnb. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SPOT.

    Luis2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Gecko house is a private and quiet abode within a neighbored. It’s located away from the road and surrounded by tall fences draped in blooming plants. It was very clean and stocked with perfect extra amenities. I would definitely stay there again.

Ahoy, the Obsession is a unique onboard private stay for up to 2 adults typically, sorry no children under 10 please. She has a clean, cozy feel, galley, fridge, cold water, and a head. Marina services (2 minute walk) include a restaurant bar, showers/laundry, bathrooms and free parking. One hour in Bay sails available also for only 50$ more! There are two sleeping areas so a second bed/berth is possible and there is an additional 10$/visit charge for the second berth linens.
It's a Catalina 38 sloop, designed for the congressional cup race circuit with a nice comfortable interior. The cushions and upholstery are made of the best materials. The galley was updated in 2013. There is a cozy V berth upfront (bow) and pilot berth in the back (stern) for sleeping. You can lounge, play games, or surf the net in the main salon around the handcrafted table. If it's sunny (or at least not raining) the cockpit is nice to place to relax and get some fresh air. There is also a small table at the helm for cocktails. The head is nothing fancy, simple pump flush for # 1 use only please, #2 must be done at the bathroom(s) onshore. They are nearby 24 hr. locked (after hours) restrooms less than 1 minute walk from the boat for other needs. There are additional public restrooms located in the restaurant area and another restroom and shower area accessible 24/7 with keys we will provide. The showers/laundry and the restaurant are a 2-3 minute walk down the boardwalk just 3 docks away, to D dock. The restaurant and bar are not fancy or expensive, just nice. The Marina is a popular place for locals to get breakfast on the weekend. The bar is usually open till 9 pm and if busy, stays open longer on weekends. Please visit our website by searching Sail Humboldt or First Class Sailing Humboldt for more pictures and details about our boat. Remember it's a boat, think camping on the water, but with nice mahogany interior and dry cushions. There are plenty of cozy blankets for your use as well as a heater if you feel at all chilly. The marina has a 24 hour surveillance system as well as a guard for your peace of mind.
Woodley Island Marina is the biggest Marina North of S.F. and South of Portland. It's a working marina with a lot of fishing vessels coming and going during the season. Just across the Channel (100 yards) is the Eureka Waterfront with a nice boardwalk with plenty of good eating and shopping. It's only minutes to some pristine beach and forest areas, natural food stores and award winning breweries. There's almost always something exciting happening in Humboldt!, Staying on a boat is one of our favorite vacations. If you're interested, we offer fishing trips, short or longer day sailing either in bay or out on the ocean as well as extended sailing trips to various locations. Please inquire about pricing as some things offered are discounted for our B&B customers.
  • Kim and Capt. Doby went above and beyond! We absolutely loved staying on a boat! Kim gave us several restaurant suggestions and made sure we felt comfortable and at home!

    Hannah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Spending a night on the sail boat was so much fun. It is a sail boat so we have to be mobile and able to step from dock unto boat. for my husband and myself it wasn't a problem. Kim met us at the boat. It was a pleasure meeting her. Great communication with both Kim and Captain Doby before check-in

    Barbara2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience if you are looking for something a little different from the norm for your travels. It was a nice stay in a great location and a short walk into town.

    Andrea2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was a unique experience and one I would recommend. We were super lucky and had clear skies, so sunset was beautiful.

    Maggie2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely a unique stay not far from things to do. If you're looking for something not hotel but not camping, this is the place to be. It's a safe, quiet marina to let you relax for the night away from the noise.

    Dana2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Such a unique experience! The sailboat is located at Woodley Island just off Hwy 255 west of Eureka. Parking is right by the docks. The boat has a comfy triangular bed. There’s a little galley space with fridge, sink, and hot water pot. The restroom has a sink and toilet for #1 - #2 and shower is accessible nearby on land. The space heater and extra blankets kept us warm enough as we came in mid-January. Good communication with Capt Doby and he met us upon arrival to provide an overview of the boat functions. Very cool experience overall.

    Karen2020-01-19T00:00:00Z

  • This tiny studio is highly functionalable and perfect for a short stay. The outside sitting area is very cozy and provides a more open space. Thoroughly disappointed I didn't get to play with the doggos though.

    Joseph2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for my wife and I, we stayed over Christmas and had a great time. It was clean and cozy. The only suggestion I’d make is if you are staying here in the winter, ask the host to turn the heater on before you arrive, it was quite cold inside for about an hour before it warmed up from the portable heater. Other than that, everything was perfect!

    Caleb2019-12-26T00:00:00Z

Enjoy historic Eureka from a private apartment in a lovingly restored Victorian home. The top floor apartment includes a kitchen, bedroom, sitting room & full bath. Enjoy a soak in the claw foot tub or watch the sunset over the Humboldt Bay from the deck... A brand-new pillow top mattress, fluffy white towels, organic local coffee & sharp cooking knives are just a few of the pleasant surprises you'll find at Lula's House. Also, a beautiful fenced backyard and fire pit are for guests to enjoy!
The entire top floor of a Victorian home built in 1900 is your private getaway in Eureka! The apartment includes a bedroom with a new pillow-top queen mattress and built-in redwood drawers, a reading nook with a chaise lounge, a well-stocked kitchen with full-size fridge & stove, and a bathroom with a clawfoot tub overlooking the backyard. Only 12 blocks away from the heart of Old Town Eureka, the apartment is accessible via a private entrance from the side yard. Guests can also enjoy the shared back yard - sip morning coffee on a redwood bench or cozy up around the fire pit at night! Lula's House is peaceful and convenient abode for those exploring the redwoods or temporarily working in Humboldt County. ** Well-behaved dogs are welcome with a $20 pet fee (processed on booking).
Historic Eureka is filled with beautiful old Victorians - some are "pretty ladies," while others have fallen on hard times. If you're going for a walk, head north from Lula's House. The neighborhoods around "D" and "G" streets are lined with stunning historic homes. South and west of Lula's House are unfortunately neighborhoods in rougher condition - not ideal for dog walks. Lula's House is located on a very quiet street with great neighbors who help keep an eye out. In 5 years of operating my Airbnb, a guest has never had a security issue, But I always recommend using big city common sense in Eureka (don't leave valuables in cars, lock doors, close windows, etc.) For shopping and dining, Old Town Eureka is 20-25 walk or 5 minute drive. It's filled with funky thrift stores, historic architecture, murals and charming restaurants. Feel free to ask for recommendations! Lula's House "Best of Humboldt" suggestions are printed on the fridge and in my Airbnb guidebook. Costco and Eureka Natural Foods are a 1/2 mile away and accessible by car, foot or bike - less than a minute's drive away!
  • The upper flat of Lula's House was cozy, convenient, adorable, and with thoughtful touches that made this a lovely stay. I came to Eureka for a 2-day research trip and this was the perfect place to call home for those two days. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything I needed, and the bonus was those delightfully fragrant bath salts to soak in the clawfoot tub, which you better believe I indulged in after a day hunched over a photocopier. On my way out, I made sure to pay my respects to Lula by the apple tree. Thanks Nora for the hospitality!

    Kirsten2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for a great stay in Humboldt county. Parking is extremely ample and safe in this neighborhood. There are a ton of great grocery stores nearby & Nora does a great job of providing kitchen necessities. 10/10 would stay here any time I’m in Eureka!

    Luis2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nora’s space was just as listed. The bed was very comfortable and the claw foot tub was great. Communication was almost immediate, which was extremely helpful given the same-day booking. Thanks so much!

Sunny, clean, one bedroom, one bathroom apartment in Henderson Center area. Apartment is in my 1920, craftsman house, but is private with its own entrance. Comfortable queen sized bed. Full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, utensils, and cookware. I can provide a sleeping mat to accommodate one more person or a child. My house is centrally located in a neighborhood with many period houses - Victorian through Craftsman era. Visit the redwoods, the ocean, Humboldt Bay. It's a great place to stay if you are passing through for a night, on a business trip, or staying for a week to explore the north coast. I grew up in the area and will gladly recommend places to visit and restaurants, or just answer questions you may have about the local area. One cat and one dog live in the house, but do not go in the apartment. You may hear them scampering around or see them in the yard though. And whether you end up staying here or not, I'm happy to give recommendations and I hope you have a great time visiting this most beautiful area. Julie

  • William's place was an excellent stop during our road trip up the West Coast. It was incredibly dog-friendly, especially with the private fenced-in yard access. The guesthouse itself was clean and cozy, and we really appreciated the Keurig coffeemaker to give us a much-needed caffeine boost before hitting the road. William was quick to respond to our questions and was a great host overall.

    Jenna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • William’s home is very convenient to Old Town, Eureka where there are plenty of restaurants. The home also includes an Arrow blow up mattress which came in handy for our stay.

    Danny2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • William's place was perfect for our recent visit to Eureka. It was clean and tidy with some nice little touches like coffee and creamer in the kitchen, and a dispenser in the shower with shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Our little dog felt at home and the side yard was a bonus for him to run around in. The neighborhood was centrally located, safe, and check-in was easy. We'll definitely stay here again.

    Jaurele2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely place- just right for 2. We chose the location because it’s near an old home of ours. While there isn’t a grand amount of curb appeal, the interior is warm and simple. We didn’t use the fenced yard during our stay, but it was a nice addition. For someone not acclimated to the North Coast weather, it was a big plus that the home heated quickly with the wall heater and ceiling fans. He was exceptionally quick to respond and we appreciated his knowledge of the area.

    Trina2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our weekend in Eureka. This spot was super easy to check in (self entry) and had a great fenced in side yard for our pup who we brought. The house itself was cute, tidy and comfortable for my husband and I! William also was a great communicator for some things going on in the area, and easy to get in touch with if needed. It was in pretty close proximity to most of the things we did in Eureka, and we were able to walk the majority of the time. I also appreciated the coffee and it was nice to have Netflix and hbo available at night time to relax :) thank you for having us!

Stay in this private, secluded 450-square foot cottage that features a bedroom, full kitchen and full bathroom. Cottage is best suited for quiet getaways for solo adventurers, although we would be amenable to honeymooners or seasoned couples.
Stay in this private, secluded 450-square foot cottage that features a bedroom, full kitchen and full bathroom. The cottage, nestled in the redwoods, is just outside of the Eureka area in Northern California. Bedroom has a queen bed. We usually save this info for last, but have experienced the need to put some house rules up front: -No smokers (includes vaping) -No pets (Note: When not in use as an Airbnb unit, the space is used by others and due to concerns with allergies we are unable to accommodate assistance animals.) -No more than two adults Cottage is best suited for quiet getaways for solo adventurers, although we would be amenable to honeymooners or seasoned couples (since the space is quite cozy). It would also be suitable for parents with a baby who bring their own port-a-crib. Please, no more than two guests (other than a baby). House is situated at the end of a private road that includes only two houses. There is an old logging trail on the property that will take you to a half-mile hike in the forest. We have had a couple guests who found our place to be too secluded and a couple others who found it to be too close to town. We like to think it is the perfect combination! Since we are on a private road, we require guests to drive slowly on it (under 10 mph) to avoid wildlife and children who live on the property. About 10 minutes to downtown Eureka which features many fine-dining establishments. About 30 to 60 minutes from many state and national parks. It's only a 16-minute drive to Humboldt State University. Many travelers use our place as a "pit stop" between two faraway places, such as going from San Francisco to Seattle. But for those who are coming for the redwoods, two nights can be woefully inadequate. There are just too many great places to see (Fern Canyon, Lady Bird Johnson Grove, Prairie Creek State Park, Patrick's Point State Park, Avenue of the Giants - to name a few). Two-night minimum. There is limited access to local networks for the TV (no cable or satellite ), but the cottage includes an extensive DVD library that includes every movie ever given the Best Picture Oscar. Strong Wi-Fi signal via Suddenlink. Full kitchen includes microwave, range, full-size refrigerator, coffee maker, blender, dishes, utensils and cookware. Cottage includes a washer and dryer. No smokers and no smoking (or vaping) allowed of any kind on the property or our neighbor's property. No pets of any kind on the property. We enjoy checking in guests and being available to answer questions about area attractions and restaurants. After that, we mostly leave you to yourselves unless you send us a text. It is very quiet. Except for some weekend nights in the summer! An area fairgrounds has stock car racing in the evening hours on some Saturdays in the summer and fall. You will need your own transportation as we are off the beaten path. Guests with motorcycles: The private road from the main street is mostly gravel. It's about 300 yards to the house on the private road.
We are perched above Eureka on the north side of town, not too far from Redwood Acres. You will find it very quiet, private and safe.
  • I enjoyed my stay here although from the description and it being so far out of town I expected a more private setting. There’s a house 10 yards away from the front door and it sits directly in front of the owners own home. Not a major issue. Also it’s impossible to keep a comfortable temperature setting inside the cottage. The thermostat is in a different room than the heater so you have to constantly get up to turn it on/off every hour or else it’ll either be too hot or too cold. All the furniture is outdated, the bed uncomfortable. Overall a decent stay for a decent price. Next time I’d spend an extra $50 a night to have something more comfortable though.

  • The area was quiet and lovely, and Tom was kind and prompt with us for our stay. There are plenty of tips and tricks to exploring Eureka, Arcata, Mckinleyville, and other local areas! Highly recommended :)

  • Tom was a great host. Our original place cancelled at the last minute, and Tom was super responsive to our late request! The location was a great place for us to access lots of great hikes and beautiful scenery!

    Amanda2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • situated just out of town it was a great location for exploring the area whether north or south. Tom was waiting for us when we arrived and when a major storm took out the power, he was there with candles and matches and all was well. if you are looking for a nice place to tuck in at the end of a day of wandering, Tom's fits the bill perfectly

    Kevin2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Always great to stay at toms, I’ve stayed a few times now and it’s. Always clean and comfortable. Great location!

    Jeremy2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what I was looking for! Secluded, a perfect quiet place to read & served as a comfy home to come back to after a long day of exploring the Redwood forests. Lots of little touches and accommodations that made it a top knotch experience! Definitely staying here if I’m ever in the area again!

    Malakhi2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cozy cottage is exactly what it is. Loved the location it’s right out of town, very quiet, yet only minutes to town. Felt like I was at home.

    Jeremy2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived for a 4-day stay during the huge PG&E power outage. Everything worked out fine, since Tom was very helpful and his cottage has propane for heat and cooking. A large clean place with all the comforts of home. 5*

Welcome to Victoria. She is a 117 year old beauty that we have put a lot of love and joy into. There is a cozy wood burning stove as well as three electric heaters and a gas stove. Lots of light floods the house that our plants enjoy and so will you! Our work in progress house, where we live, is close if you need us. The big yard is great for kids or relaxing in one of the garden nooks. We hope you enjoy the love we have put into our home!
When I bought Victoria she was in pretty good shape considering her age, yet there were some updates to make, so Zach and I got her mostly down to her bones and gave her a fresh outfit. We kept her true to her history the best we could. I am an artist at heart and love finding new ways to express my creativity, and Victoria is an ever producing muse. The back yard is quiet and peaceful, and depending on the year we have a garden and lots of fruit trees and bushes. You may harvest some of this for your enjoyment, but please don't strip us bare. There are 5 garden nooks to sit and listen to the symphony of wind chimes. Also, enjoy the hammock that can easily be set up.
Eureka is home to beautiful Victorian homes, a peaceful bay, great food, redwood forests, and shopping for all. Its a quick drive to surround towns where you can continue to discover the beauty and culture behind the Redwood Curtain.
  • This is my third time staying at Heather’s place, and it’s truly home away from Home. Heather is a wonderful Host - exceedingly thoughtful and timely in her communications. Her house is stocked with EVERYTHING you could ever need while traveling including hair ties, razors, deodorant (men AND women’s), plus bread, jam, fresh fruit and coffee! The yard is lovely and HUGE, which my pups appreciate. Heather’s home is lovely and comfortable and is close to everything Eureka have to offer. Truly one of the best AirBnB homes I’ve stayed in around the world.

    Alicia2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Heather’s space was thoughtful and cozy. Perfect stop on our trip down the coast. We really enjoyed the fire place and overall property.

    Chelsea2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Second stay at Heather’s lovely house in two months. Can’t say enough about this gem of a place. Comfortable, charming, spacious and a gorgeous backyard. If possible I’d give this place six stars, instead of five. She is a perfect host, and you will love this house.

    Alicia2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house is so cute and homey. Very clean with thoughtful touches throughout. Heather left clear info about the home and that was very helpful.

    Melanie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific house in a cute neighborhood. The house is lovely and has everything you need. The fenced backyard was good for traveling with pups, We also appreciated the proximity to town - everything was just a few minutes away.

There are plenty of shops and restaurants, a boardwalk, grocery stores, public transportation and entertainment just a few blocks away! The house also offers two comfortable common areas with a fireplace, beautiful gardens and a kitchen upon request. Pet’s are welcome in this space for an additional fee.
The Victorian is close to beaches, the redwoods, Old Town Eureka shopping, just off the 101 HWY (which is 4th or 5th streets in Eureka) and more!
  • We stayed here for a month while looking for a house when we moved to the area and we couldn't have asked for better! We were able to have our cats with us and the accommodations are beautiful. The hosts have wonderful local suggestions and are happy to help with any needs. Yes, there is a local homeless population and they can get a bit noisy at times, but they keep to themselves and the area is safe. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and will probably have my parents stay there when they visit.

    Erin2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely Victorian house within a short distance of the center of old town Eureka. The host was friendly and very helpful, providing information to make our visit enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks!

    Kathleen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot at a great location. It was so lovely to stroll past the beautiful Victorian houses on our way to lunch. Would 100% recommend.

  • A charming and historic home, complimented by the historic district of Eureka.

    Serena2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rooms are exactly as described. A bit small but perfect for just needing a place to sleep. Since the location is on a small street parking can be an issue but that can’t be helped. This is a great place to stay if visiting Eureka or the nearby redwoods.

    Joseph2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Samantha is good host, I recommended it.

    Janice2019-09-22T00:00:00Z

  • We stayed at Linden and Abbygail’s place over the holidays and for a trip through Redwoods Parks. Their spot right downtown was the perfect place. It had all the necessary city amenities, but made our trips out to the parks really easy. The local tips and fresh baked bread at their place were added bonuses! Would recommend this place to anyone coming to the area.

    Rebecca2019-12-26T00:00:00Z

  • Such a lovely apartment very close to the fantastic shopping, dining, and waterfront in Old Town, Eureka. Even though I was checking in late after getting to town Linden was there to let me in and show me around the house...which smelled AMAZING thanks to the freshly baked bread that was waiting in the kitchen! Appreciate the little details and excellent communication!

    Alexandra2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very clean large one bedroom unit with a nice well appointed decor... very good value for the buck. Very comfortable bed, slept quite well. Had my concerns after reading a review of a similar sized guy ... no clue what he was thinking. Kitchen is stocked with butter, jam, OJ and filtered water, fresh baked bread, coffee and tea. We did keep the some of the windows open all the time... kitchen, living room, bathroom. I run hot so I like a cool place but this is really a personal preference. Highway noise was not an issue for us but we are from the Bay Area. The unit is well located and walkable to old town. Linden gave us good tips for non-waterred down happy hour cheap drink places...all walkable!! Definitely will stay here again!

    David2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Both Linden and Abbygail were gracious hosts. Linden checked in on us to make sure everything was going well with our stay and had fresh orange juice ready for us upon our arrival. Very well done and comfortable place to stay for your traveling needs. Thanks again for the great stay!

Cat's Meow Studio B is like a rustic, cabin near the woods. It's located behind Studio A/garage building and is a private stay with a bathroom, a combo living room/bedroom, and a full kitchen. It is a perfect overnight stay for visiting the Redwoods, or for an extended stay when you need more time to be here on the North Coast.
Cat's Meow Studio B is perfect for one or two people. It has a futon/couch which makes in to a full-size/queen bed. It is a little stark and is a decorating work in progress. The bathroom has no sink, but the kitchen sink is only a few steps away. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, 4 burner gas stove, micro-wave, coffee pot and a small table which will double as the desk. There is a dedicated WiFi router and laundry is available for extended stays. Parking is about 20ft. away and there are motion lights on the garage.
Cat's Meow Studio B is located east of Arcata. The western portion of our property is a dedicated wetlands with a creek that defines the western property line. We are minutes from Arcata, but it feels like a cabin in the woods because we have several Redwoods on the property as well as other trees and hedgings. Because of the way the buildings on the property sit, it feels a lot more rural than it is - definitely not a suburb.
  • Nice quite place, comfortable, perfect for the couple or single person. Meets my criteria, of hot shower, comfy bed , peaceful atmosphere!

  • This was my first time using Airbnb and it was much better than I expected. If you are looking for a place to stay that is cheap, clean, quiet, friendly, and need amenities such as a kitchen and laundry, this is the place to stay. Amanda ensured I knew where extras toiletries, towels, and blankets were. The kitchen is not only clean, but organized. The location is great because you're not far from the mall, the grocery store, a bank, or a dispensary. There are magazines and pamphlets in the room to tell about what is offered locally.

This studio is above our detached garage, about 30ft. in front of our house. It has a private entrance with stairs up to the loft. Perfect for one or two people. We share this property with some stray cats, a couple of deer friends, and pesky racoons. As we are about 40 yds off the road, there is private parking with motion detecting nightlights and a sidewalk leading to the entrance. The room has a small refrigerator, micro-wave oven, student desk and old, wooden office chair. Two folding chairs and a table are provided for sitting on the balcony. There is a twin bed and a scissor futon couch that makes into a full-sized bed. Towels, soap, shampoo and bedding for the couch-bed are provded. Private parking is 20 ft. from the entrance with motion detecting nightlights for your safety. Guest will have access to the studio and our yard, which borders on a dedicated wetlands. There are no trails. We are providing a clean, quiet and private space for guest to enjoy their time here in Arcata and Humboldt County. We are availabe for directions and recommendations, otherwise, we ask that our privacy be respected. Our neighborhood is quiet and rural, surrounded by trees. We have deer that roam our yard, sometimes on a daily basis. There is a good coffee/ sandwhich shop about 50yds from the house - they do not give "to go" cups, so we provide them. There is a small shopping center 1 mile towards Arcata that has a friendly neighborhood market, laundromat, hardware store and restaurant. This is a bike friendly area, with wide bike lanes. We are 2.5 miles from Humboldt State University - a 5 minute drive or a 10 minute bike ride. We are 3 miles southeast of Arcata and 4 miles northeast of Eureka. We are 1 mile from the nearest public transit. It is at Sunny Brae shopping center. This is the southernmost point for the Mad River transit and connects in Arcata to Redwood Transit that connects Fortuna, Eureka and Trinidad.

Enjoy historic Eureka in a lovingly restored Victorian home originally built in 1900. The bottom floor flat includes a living room, kitchen, bedroom, full bath & laundry room. Relax in the mid-century living room or cook dinner on the Wedgewood stove! A brand-new Tuft & Needle mattress & down comforter, fluffy white towels, local coffee & cast iron cookware are a few of the pleasant surprises you'll find at Lula's House. Also, a beautiful fenced backyard and fire pit are for guests to enjoy!
The entire bottom floor of a Victorian home built in 1900 is your private getaway in Eureka! At the center of the home sits the well-stocked kitchen with a full-size fridge & retro Wedgwood stove. Dishes, wine glasses, pots & pans & more (olive oil, vinegar, spices) are for guests to prepare a delicious home cooked meal. A quiet corner desk off the kitchen is a lovely space to answer emails or write postcards. The cozy bedroom is tucked off the backyard, complete with wainscoting and the original old-growth redwood flooring. Finally, the mid-century style living room is a comfortable and classy room to relax after a day of hiking. The sofa folds out to a twin-sized mattress for 1 adult or two children. Guests can also enjoy the shared backyard - sip morning coffee on a redwood bench or cozy up around the fire pit at night! *Well-behaved dogs are welcome with a $20 pet fee (processed on booking).
In nearly 6 years of operating my Airbnb, a guest has never had a security issue, but I always recommend using big city common sense in Eureka (don't leave valuables in cars, lock doors, close windows, etc.) For shopping and dining, Old Town Eureka is 20-25 walk or 5 minute drive.
  • great place to stay!

  • Easy to find, easy to enter with a code. Host was very sweet and responsive. On a fairly busy street but the cottage is situated in the back of the house, and traffic was quiet at night. Very comfortable, nice quality bedding. Appreciated the tea that was available, it was a cold night. Simple but adequate place.

  • This was the perfect location for our needs. Check in was easy, everything was spotless and comfortable. Yes, we were made aware of the stairs and booked this anyway because of the reviews. While stairs aren't our most favorite thing due to our aging bodies, it was well worth the 16 steps to this lovely apartment. We enjoyed our morning coffee sitting on the deck smelling the coastal breeze and watching the fog burn off. The next time I'm in Humboldt County, I'm crossing my fingers this is available.

Newly renovated carriage house all set up to be your home away from home. Our guest cottage will comfortably sleep three and includes all the kitchen gear you need to cook to your hearts content. With nice, 100% cotton sheets and luxurious, large towels, your stay will be comfy and cozy. Coffee, tea, and creamer are provided, instant oatmeal is in the cupboard, and farm fresh eggs from our own chickens, but you HAVE to ask for eggs if you want them- Ill be happy to provide some for your group.
The queen bed is covered with great-grandma's hand stitched antique quilt, with a variety of pillows from hard to soft to squishy to choose from. The Couch-bed is no pull out sofa couch! It is 10-inches of memory foam that fold down into a very comfortable twin bed, with its own quilt and hand-crocheted blanket. Brightly decorated with my husband Brandon's original paintings, and with an open ceiling that makes it feel much larger than it is, our guest house is the perfect environment to relax after a day of exploring Humboldt's grandeur.
While Eureka offers the small town charm of a Gold-Rush era lumber town, no neighborhood is immune to the lowest elements. It is strongly advised, no matter where you stay, to not leave valuables in your vehicle.
  • Amanda and her crew and family are awesome. They welcomed me to Humboldt County with warmth and generosity. They have been extremely helpful and accommodating to my needs. They are present and personable, without being intrusive. The place is very nice, clean, spacious and open. It is very close to all goods and services (much is within easy walking distance), while being a quiet out-of-the way residential neighborhood.
