  • Beautiful property, beautiful views. Modern and warm. As a group of 12 that went for three nights, we found we did have to take extra toilet roll (to be expected) but also ran out of dishwasher tablets and could not locate bin bags, which we presumed would be made available (but we may have been incorrect regarding this). If you are using all the beds available, ensure to take extra bedding, as clearly stated in listing. The property itself is just magnificent. Just take extra provisions 😊

  • The Lite House is as beautiful as it appears in the pictures. A gorgeous location with huge windows and cosy decor that just beg for you to sit and wonder at the sea. Even in the depths of winter it felt like such a treat. When the sun came out pretty unbeatable so it must be blissful in summer. Perfect big space for entertaining and family/ friend get togethers. Lovely furniture and amazing utility room for muddy boots. Lovely and attentive hospitality. Can’t wait to stay again.

    Kate2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the lite house over the Christmas holiday and have had a wonderful stay, our host provided a lovely clean house and some welcoming treats and even decorated a tree for us. We all loved waking up and just being able to look at the ocean and taking our dog for long walks after eating way too much. The house was warm and cozy and coming back from the beach, feeling wind swept was a joy. If you enjoy staring out to sea and long walks then this house has that covered. Many thanks to our host!

  • Awesome house and location. We had a great long weekend.

    Neil2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Lite House is an amazing space for entertaining. It is very stylish and warm inside, we felt so comfortable there. The only downside, was it could do with another double bed, there is plenty of room to accommodate this.

  • Our stay was great. Everything we expected. Well presented and homely place to stay right by the beach. Very easy to get to and clear directions given by host. Host also left me a little gesture which was a lovely touch. All in all, pleased with our stay and would likely book again if we decide to return to the area.

  • What an amazing chalet. Everything was perfect and couldn’t have asked for anything more. We had a wonderful relax break with our two dogs and the beaches where beautiful. We will definitely be booking again.

  • Lovely little chalet, very convenient for us to be so close to a wide and quiet beach so we could easily walk our nervous dog without having to interact with many other people/dogs at all. Beautiful beach, especially the sandy bit along to the left as you look out to sea. We also enjoyed Dunwich Heath and a trip to the Broads. Everything was beautifully clean and we really appreciated the extras for the dog. Thank you.

Holiday chalet on quiet site in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Fantastic sea views: watch the sun rise from the comfort of the bedroom or living room! Perfect for long walks (beach and country) and quiet relaxing times. No TV or internet to disturb the peace! Simple but comfortable accommodation with good heating system so cosy in winter. Beach is dog friendly all year round. Easy parking with short walk to chalet. Steps to beach.
The chalet's best feature is the wonderful view of sea and sky, and its very close proximity to great beach and lovely walks. Dogs are welcome . Well equipped kitchen. Windbreak and couple of beach chairs. Easy access to Southwold, Lowestoft, and Aldeburgh. Also close to Oulton Broad, gateway to the Norfolk Broads. Lots of places to visit within easy reach.
Kessingland is a small village about 3 miles south of Lowestoft. Nearby pub has food and there's a restaurant with great sea views nearby. Good local fish and chips, Co-op five minutes away and big Morrison's 10 minute drive. Great car boot sale every Sunday. Africa Alive is a great place to visit, just 5 mins away. Southwold is 20 minutes by car, Norwich about an hour. Norfolk Broads 20 mins also. See http://www.thesuffolkcoast.co.uk/shares/Kessingland_Explorer_Guide-AONB.pdf for more information about Kessingland.
  • Anne is very communicative and will go out of her way to make your stay easy. If you don't need a big place, Anne's is cosy and has everything you need. Wonderfully quiet and calming. Kessingland beach is lovely, and it's a short drive to Southwold, which is well worth a visit or two!

    Stuart2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place right next to the sea. We had a wonderful few days here with our two children (2 & 6). We were up every morning to watch the sunrise and had some wonderful strolls along the beach. Plenty of interesting pebbles and fossils to find. Play park was a short walk away and local fish and chips were delicious. No WiFi or TV was a lovely break from screens!

    Kessingland, Suffolk, United Kingdom

Located on a small park, our chalet is a stones throw from the peaceful heathland and beach of Kessingland.
Kessingland is an ideal location to explore the Suffolk coast line, including the picture postcard town of Southwold (20 minutes drive or bus ride) boasting beaches and a bustling centre, for beer lovers, Adnams Brewery. Africa Alive wildlife park is a mile away and you are a 10 minute drive away from the blue flag sandy beaches of Lowestoft. Kessingland is a small friendly village, with several amenities including pub, restaurants, great fish and chips and small supermarket (Co-op). Larger shops, Morrison's, Asda, ALDI, McDonald's, Costa etc. are a short 10min drive away on the outskirts of Lowestoft. Further Information Access We are the third row back from the beach, there is a key safe to access the key. There is a security light, however it may be worth bringing a torch. Other things to note PLEASE NOTE Our chalet is strictly NO SMOKING, as a courtesy to other guests, please do not smoke in the chalet. The chalet is small, therefore would recommend for 4 people. If you are bringing a dog, it is suitable for small / medium sized dogs. In the winter please remember slippers / thick socks as the flooring takes time to warm up. Please visit our Instagram page for further pics of the area - peters_place_kessingland
The park is genuinely quiet, near the centre of the village. You can walk to the beaches, pub and seafront café (virtually everything). Please be respectful of your neighbours.
  • Great place for a short and relaxing break. Many thanks and well hosted.

Betty's offers single storey, three bedroom pet friendly accommodation with direct sea views and beach access just two minutes walk away. The chalet is situated on a very well kept private park and has just enjoyed complete modernisation. The space provides separate king, bunk and single bedrooms, a modern shower room and kitchenette (c/w oven, hob, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and dishwasher) along with a well proportioned living dining area with direct sea views from the french doors.
  • We had another relaxing weekend at this fabulously equipped chalet. It was clean, quiet, warm and comfortable. Excellent location for walking along the beach with the dog. Good food at the local dog friendly pub- Sailors Home.

    Franzeska2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Betty’s chalet was clean, warm & comfortable for our weekend break. Situated in a quiet location approx 100m from the beach which worked well for walking the dog. The chalet has everything you’d need, the kitchen was very well equipped, also had a toaster and microwave. Bedding and towels were fresh. TV and wifi worked as expected. Fabulous weekend, lovely place to stay.

    Franzeska2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodation, not because my expectations were low, not at all, just that what I was presented with exceeded what I was expecting. I didn't realise there was wifi, which made the kids very happy. The rooms were a great size, with a great kitchen (including dishwasher), and sitting room with dinning table for family meals. And for the dog, so much room to walk/run, with the beach literally outside the back door. We were staying out of season, so overall the site was pretty empty (and a little eerie), but this didn't impact us at all. We all look forward to staying again in the future.

    Tristan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you want peace, quiet and a comfy stay you can't go wrong at Johns chalet Betty's. The view was lovely, the stars in a clear sky are amazing and the chalet is warm and comfy. There is plenty of room for a family even though there were just two of us I think a small family would feel the same. Host put the heating on before we arrived which was appreciated. The Chinese up the road was great and the little post office corner shop well stocked. The sea is visible from the chalet and just a short walk to the shore, we had a lovely brisk walk by the sea it was windy by the shore. No noise at the chalet no road noise or noisy neighbors just perfect peace. So all in all fab views, lovely quiet site, easy check in and great communication we hope to come back soon thanks John one of the nicest stays we've had.

    Nicki2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful get away in a wonderful seaside location and in a super holiday home. All you could ask for and more. We were a little worried about staying here in the winter however this holiday chalet had all we needed to keep warm and cosy. We hope you enjoy staying at Betty’s place as much as we did.

    Robert2020-01-01T00:00:00Z

My cosy cottage is five minutes walk to public transport for Southwold, Norwich and Lowestoft. Sizewell is 15 miles away. I live here too, with my small dog called Marley. Your room is a single bed with en suite, shower over the bath with towels etc. Tea making facilities included. No TV in your room but private lounge with TV. Internet available. The room overlooks my garden. Breakfast is cereal and drinks., the kitchen. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travelers.
I have local knowledge for birders and R.S.P.B. is only 25 mins, drive.I lead walks and very happy to advice you of the best walks of the beach, The Broads or just stepping away from Rambleside.
Market Place is very quiet, single horseshoe road, that leads off the High Street and on to Whites Lane. If you are lucky, sometimes when sitting in my garden you can the animals roar from the near by Wild Life park.
  • I would highly recommend this place if you need a space to stay and a warm friend. Sue is very welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Sue’s knowledge of the area and tips were invaluable. Thank you Sue.

  • Right by the sea which was perfect! Ian was accommodating!

    Stephanie2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Seaside Escape is a nice small bedsit, very private and comfortable. We did not have the pleasure to meet Ian but he has been exceptionally good in organising everything and quick to respond to any queries. Location was very convenient for the seaside, small supermarket and two pubs within walking distance!

    Evie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely evening at Ian’s place.... it’s spotlessly clean, cosy, stylish and in a great location for the sea... it’s literally round the corner from the back garden. We stumbled upon the restaurant at the Hog Hotel (which is a 5 min walk away from Ian’s) and the 1kg sharing rib eye was mind blowing! A blustery walk along the beach this morning cleared all the cobwebs away and left us refreshed and ready again to face our hectic lives in the city! Thanks for the great hospitality, would definitely stay here again.

  • This is an amazing little gem, stylish, spotless and fantastic location. Has everything you need. This is our second stay and we would not hesitate to come back again. First class communication from host. Best instructions for directions and arrival we have ever had from an airbnb host.

  • Ian's place was spotlessly clean and stylish. His check-in instructions with regard to parking were fantastic and absolutely spot on. It was the perfect space for what I needed and would certainly look to book again next time I'm in the area. Thoroughly recommend.

  • The Seaside Escape is an absolute gem of a place to stay if you need somewhere quiet and peaceful to return to at the end of the day. It’s stylish, modern and the host clearly cares about his guests. If you’re considering this place you won’t be disappointed!

Cosy Chalet right on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Literally a stone's throw to the beautiful Kessingland beach. Safe, traffic-free green spaces surround the chalet. 1 mile from Africa Alive wildlife park, 10 mins for the sandy beaches of Lowestoft and a short drive to the charms of Southwold and Minsmere bird reserve. The photographs show the chalet and surrounds.
Lovely cosy chalet very close to Kessingland beach. (Chalet is second row back from the beach) PLEASE NOTE a couple of recent guests have commented that the TV is not working - the TV does work but you need to ensure the aerial booster box (behind TV) is plugged in. We're unable to troubleshoot or fix the TV if it does go wrong - sorry!
This is a great place to enjoy open spaces, beaches and plenty of fresh air. It's right at the heart of an AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty). Kessingland Beach is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to its geology. The cliffs include freshwater deposits of gravel, clay and sand which were laid down between 600,000 and 700,000 years ago. Fossils of sabre toothed cat, hippopotamus, steppe mammoth and rhinoceros have been found in this layer. The discovery of flaked flints indicates very early human activity.
  • Perfect holiday chalet in very quiet location close to the beach . Although we were in area for work it suited us to be able to cook and relax after long day . The kitchen was well stocked with pots n pans ect everything working . Would love to visit again to explore area in better weather !

  • Very good value for money. Right on the beach. Would visit again.

  • I used this as a base to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life for a week. It was brilliant to be 5mins walk from a wonderful open beach. It has a good location to visit nearbye Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth, Southwold too. It's a cosy, utilitarian beach hut, with all you'd need for a break, good to use as a base to visit the coast. The days when I didn't use my car and simply stayed local, walking along the beach, into Kessingland, were wonderful.

    Lee2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little spot next to the beach, clean and Geoff very quick on the reply and with all the details we needed

    David2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A great little find!! Very close to the beach. All the basics were available. As Geoff says, the price reflects what you get. Only in that sheets and towels are not provided you need to take your own. But duvets and pillows are available. We were a bit crazy to want to go to the beach in the winter. But there were 3 space heaters available which kept us toasty when needed. It is a small but cozy beach bungalow and was ideal for the 3 of us. My son loved that there were a few toys available. A great fish and chip place for eating in or takeaway is easily within walking distance. But it gets busy!! So be warned. Also if you are crazy enough to go in the winter then check the dates and times that local places are open. The fish and chip place was closed on Sunday evening as was another local restaurant The Waterfront Inn. But there are other places within driving distances. I'm sure in the summer places are open more. We booked with only a few days notice. But Geoff was fantastic with a quick response and giving the necessary details which were all spot on. We would go again!

Kessingland is a quiet, traditional seaside village on the Heritage Coast in Suffolk. You can walk (or run!) for miles along the beach, even to Lowestoft or Southwold (depending on tides). Benacre Nature Reserve is right next to the park to the south (great for bird/nature watching & walks). Our home is perfectly positioned for exploring both Suffolk & Norfolk (inspirational area for artists/craft workers/photographers). Or you may choose to just stay put, relax & unwind. The beach is good for sea-fishing, jogging & kite flying - the odd seal may visit, especially in winter months. Local shop, pub, restaurants, fish'n chips all within walking distance. Just down the road are Africa Alive (3 minutes, open 9.30am every day except Christmas & Boxing Day) & the East Anglia Transport Museum at Carlton Colville (13 minutes, open April to September). The Rookery Park Golf Club (Carlton Colville) is a friendly club & welcomes visitors. Lowestoft (15 minutes, Maritime Museum, theatres, leisure centre & lots of family entertainment), Pleasurewood Hills (Corton, 23 minutes), Great Yarmouth (40 minutes, Sea Life, Pleasure Beach Amusement Park) & the Norfolk Broads are within easy driving distance to the north. The City of Norwich (approx. 23 miles away, spectacular Norman Castle, Theatre Royal, excellent shopping & market) & town of Beccles (on the Southern Broads) to the north-west. To the south are beautiful Southwold (19 minutes, with its pier, summer theatre, amber museum & home to the Latitude Festival in July), Dunwich Heath, Minsmere RSPB nature reserve, Aldeburgh & Snape Maltings (concerts & festivals, art/craft exhibitions), Framlingham & Orford castles, all well worth a visit.
  • All you need for a short break. On a holiday park with swimming pool and restaurant. The home can be a bit noisy overnight due the wind and neighbours but not to the detriment of the stay. Great and responsive host.

    Kessingland Beach, England, United Kingdom

This is our second season of letting out our chalet which is located on Kessingland beach front. We have been overwhelmed by all our lovely reviews and have really enjoyed ' dipping our toes' into the holiday rental business. This particular region of the beautiful Suffolk coastline remains unspoiled and the chalet is right on the beach front within a quiet, non commercial park. We aim to provide both personal and homely touches in order to make your stay a little special .
There is no better place to hide away! Escape the noise, traffic and emails and head to our freshly decorated beach front retreat. The chalet has two bedrooms, the 'Sun Room' which has a double bed and the 'Sand Room' which has twin beds. Both bedrooms have double wardrobes providing plenty of storage, heating, TV's, bedside lights and good quality bed linen. The ‘Sea Room’ is an open plan living area providing space to relax and watch TV/DVD player, dining table and chairs and a fully equipped kitchen which includes a microwave, a cooker incorporating a hob and oven, crockery and cooking utensils. An iron, ironing board, washing line and a hoover are to hand if you really feel inclined but best left in the cupboard ; ) The bathroom has a bath and an electric shower. We try to create a real homely feel by making available some 'personal' touches such as a welcome pack which includes tea, coffee, milk and cereal. Good quality linen and fluffy towels ( there is nothing worse than drying yourself on cardboard sheets ; ) books to read, DVD's to watch, cosy throws, inside and outside games to use and an information folder containing details of places to visit and some history of the local area. There is no gas supply to the chalet so a carbon monoxide alarm is not needed. I live 5 minutes walk from the chalet so on hand to assist if needed.
Kessingland Beach has a unique history and manages to combine a local community village feel whilst always welcoming visitors into its heart. Within walking distance there is a pub which provides a local welcome along with regular entertainment and home cooked food, a fish and chip shop, the 'beach hut' which is an Aladdin's cave of treasures, the waterfront restaurant, a co-op 7/11, Africa Alive wildlife park, local boot sale every Sunday, a church steeped in history and of course the infamous 'Sweet Retreat' tea rooms! Kessingland is also within easy travelling distance to many tourist attractions such as Great Yarmouth, Oulton Broads, Norwich , Southwold and Aldeburgh to name just a few.
  • You can expect a tin of mixed biscuits, TV in every room, as warm as you like, well stocked kitchen, sharp knives, big wine glasses and lots of sauce pans! Also, a comfy bed.

    John2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Love love LOVE this place. So quiet, peaceful and such a superb location. A few stride from the chalet are the steps which place you directly on the beach - and what a beach it is. Expansive, clean and safe enough for me to allow my mini-me’s to wander down there unaccompanied (age 8&11) whilst we watched from the benches at the top. The chalet itself is like a tardis, much roomier than expected and spotlessly clean. Julie goes above and beyond with hosting by leaving little extras such as milk, cereal, biscuits galore and that’s on top of the ornamental aesthetics that make the chalet a real home from home. The mini’s were over the moon with the games Julie has supplied and even during a dull tv night we were able to rummage through the ample dvd collection and find something to all tastes. The facilities are great, kitchen and bathroom both spotless and fully functioning and the beds comfortable. Furthermore, we were away to celebrate my Mums 70th & when we arrive there were banners up and Julie had wrote mum a card and given her a small gift. It’s touched like this that mean so very much. All in all, a gem of a place I’m so happy we found. Can’t wait to come back.

    Katie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay

    Jamie2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's chalet is just lovely. You can feel that it is an extension of her nature - thoughtful touches, comfortable and homely. We stayed during Novemeber - with the typical wet weather for this time of year - and yet our 3 night stay went far too quickly. You are so close to the beach that any breaks in the rain gave us the chance for a brisk walk with the dogs. It's great to know that when you get back to the chalet you have all the home comforts you need to make a hot meal it is so well equipped. Everyone we met was so friendly and we would hope to visit again in better weather - it is well situated to have a self catering break in Kessingland or to explore the Suffolk/Norfolk coast. We were 3 adults, but the chalet had everything for a family of 4 - plenty of games to keep younger members of the family entertained. Wish it was there when my children were young! Julie has thought of everything from spare light bulbs to batteries - having stayed in many places there is nothing more annoying that switching on your bedroom lamp to read at night to find bulb has blown, or to settle down in front of TV and remote control doesn't work! That is an example to the level of detail Julie has achieved! Fabulous!!

  • Lovely little getaway. Dog loved the beach

    Gill2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nice & clean, very comfy beds, well stocked kitchen. Couldn’t have asked for anything more.

    Mark2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a much needed 3 day retreat at Julie’s place with my dog and will definitely book again. The site is super close to the beach and the whole area and chalet are spotlessly clean and felt very safe. I met my neighbours and their little dog briefly who were lovely. I loved that there was very little light pollution. Julie is on hand if needed which goes a long way to taking away the stress of being in a new place. I’m already planning another, longer stay. Feeling regenerated. Thanks Julie.

    Har Hari2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's chalet is a superb place to stay. Beautifully clean, thoughtfully decorated, cosy and comfortable. It's in a great location with lovely views over the beach within a few steps from the front door. Recommend as a good base to explore the Suffolk coast.

  • We had a wonderful stay, round the corner from Africa alive zoo which we visited. Room was big and clean, shower was hot and we enjoyed the coffee on offer. We really would have loved to met Justyna but she had to work and we left quite early. We paid for a full year at the zoo so will definitely book Justyna's place again the next time we go. Its only a few miles from Lowestoft and 25 mins from Great yarmouth so great location. Bed was big and got a great nights sleep, room was nice and warm, clean and not one negative. Wifi was ok also. Great host, thanks Justyna.

  • Excellent accommodation found here. Very pleased with this place. Firstly it is very large eith a huge ensuite and so this is excellent value for money. There is a huge amount of space and cooking facilities for relaxing including a really nice chilled area in the garden. Also can I say the interior is so calm and stylish. All for just £40 I am literally shocked. Definitely need a car so you can explore Suffolk coast line. I drove along the Suffolk coast line to southwold and beyond and this offers really quality fine dining, beautiful promenades and shopping experience and not touristy a very hidden gem here. Also my host was very informative and open with lots of information to give and a coffee machine 👍😌 Thankyou Justyna I loved your home!

  • Philip's place is a perfect bolthole, with everything you need. Philip is an amazing, generous, welcoming host; he both leaves you to your own devices and is happy to chat away about anything and everything whenever you want/need. He's also very fond of chocolate, which I think is always a good character trait :) if you need any local information or just want to yell a little about the state of the world, Philip is there! There is a lovely garden out the back of the property, and the room has everything you need, as does the bathroom. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, and appliances, and the house overall has a really homely feel, and is very secure. And for anyone who is glued to their phone/tablet/etc, the WiFi is perfect. Location-wise, you are: 20 minutes on foot from the train station/town centre, and about 10 minutes by bus. There is a supermarket just a few minutes in one direction, and the beach is accessible on foot just a few minutes in the other! The beach is beautiful, perfect for a stroll, plenty of cafes and bars if you want to stop and watch the waves. Thank you Philip!

  • Graham and Dee were a lovely, polite and friendly couple. Their home was very clean, modern and well furnished. The only issue I had was being placed in a room different to that which I booked, but I would recommend them as hosts and stay again.

  • My twins, puppy and I had a wonderful time at the chalet. A stones throw from a lovely beach which is great for dog walking and swims in the sea. The chalet is very cosy with all mod cons. My puppy had the best time socialising with all other dogs and being fussed by passers by. Highly recommend.

    Clare2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay here with our 3 kids. Enough space for the 5 of us and right near the beach. Angie was so quick to respond to messages and had everything set up so nicely for us.

  • Perfect chalet. Fantastic location literally 30 seconds from the beach. Although we didn’t take our dog this time it’s a brilliant place for dog walking. Well equipped kitchen, lovely comfortable beds & powerful hot shower - what more could you want! Definitely hoping to go back.

Dating back to the 18th Century, this quintessentially English country cottage has been beautifully restored from its former life as a pub on the route from Lowestoft to Norwich. Many unique period features have been retained and complemented by comfortable furnishings with a modern kitchen and bathroom to provide a super holiday property for short breaks or a holiday within easy reach of the Suffolk Heritage coast. An additional treat here is the use of one of the iconic beach huts at the Gun Hill side of Southwold beach and there's a large garden and parking to come home to.
1 Tunns Cottages is ideal for any time of the year with sunny garden/utility room and large but cosy living room on the ground floor, together with the kitchen/breakfast room, tap room for storage and modern bathroom. Both bedrooms on the first floor have great views of the surrounding countryside, the master with a double bed and single with a pull out which can be set up for you in the master for a child; there's also a convenient cloakroom on this floor. This end of terraced cottage sits back from the road with steps to the front door, off road parking for one car and a side gate to the large fully enclosed garden, mostly laid to lawn, with a patio furnished for outside dining.
1 Tunns Cottages is in the village of Rushmere in the Waveney district, approx five miles south-west of Lowestoft and 5.5 south-east of Beccles, a central spot for exploring all that Suffolk has to offer. The Benacre National Nature Reserve is also only five miles away, on either side of the village of Covehithe, where there are reedbeds and lagoons plus woodlands and heathlands on higher ground and over 100 breeding bird species, including marsh harrier, bearded reedling and a variety of ducks. Kessingland, with a fantastic zoo, Africa Alive (formerly the Suffolk Wildlife Park) is just under three miles away and the fashionable seaside town of Southwold is approx eight miles away with iconic pier, string of colourful beach huts, independent and high street shops, golfing, sailing and an excellent choice of eateries.
  • Lovely snug, cosy cottage in a great rural location. Lovely walks for the dogs and close to some great beaches. The cottage was tastefully furnished with some lovely touches. The stairs were interesting when you have had a drink!! But we soon got used to them. Would definitely recommend a stay.

Welcome to our seaside chalet on a small friendly park situated in the lovely area of Kessingland. This area is great to explore. For families you have Suffolk Wildlife park, Pleasure Wood Hills and beautiful beaches like Kessingland and Southwold. For quieter days out there is Snape Maltings, Minsmere and quiet towns like Beccles to enjoy. But for us, the icing on the cake is the beach which is a stones throw away, tucked behind the chalet. We aim to give you the home from home chalet.
All the bedding and towels are included in your stay, so pack and come without that extra worry. Highchair & travel cot with bedding available upon request.
There is a really good fish and chip shop just as you enter the drive, also lovely Carol has her seaside shop which is open on set days and has local gifts. Paella night is lovely on a Thursday at the Waterfront (must book). Also close to you is the beach, small cafe and children's play park.
  • This place is a gem! A stones throw from the beach and the chalet is equipped with everything we could possibly need. The host provided a range of toys for our little one and great hints and tips about what to do in the surrounding area. Wish we could have stayed longer. Looking forward to returning again.

  • We have had a great few days at Mole End. I booked it for myself, hubbie and children and our 2 small doggies so that we could visit my family locally without having to impose ourselves on any of them! Helen greeted us on arrival and welcomed us into the Van, which was lovely and toasty warm, not at all what I expected from a caravan at the end of October! A tastefully decorated static caravan with comfy beds, chairs etc. Lovely fluffy towels to use in the bathrooms. The kitchen is stocked with condiments, kitchen towel, cling film, foil and dog poo bags! The freezer even had some chips, waffles and ice cream in it! Helen left us a loaf of bread and pint of milk which is a lovely touch. A much required cuppa as soon as we arrived. The book shelf in the lounge has a read for everyone. I did pick up 'The trouble with goats and sheep' and started that! Location is perfect for dogs and kids, but also i'm sure very relaxing if you didn't have either of those! We enjoyed a couple of walks over to the park and along the river to Carlton Marshes. Carvery at the Wherry hotel one evening which is a great price weekdays. We didn't use the clubhouse or swimming pool so I cant comment on that. Overall a great little holiday home at a really good price. We will certainly be returning when the next round of family visits are due!! Thank you Helen for sharing your hidden gem! Carla & family (including noisy Reggie daschund cross who loved the low lounge window for guarding his fort!! I hope the local squirrels soon return!!)

    Carla2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Mole End is a lovely holiday home in a great location. This cosy caravan had everything we needed. It is incredibly peaceful. We enjoyed being so close to nature and saw deer from the caravan. A short walk away gives lovely views across the water. You are close Everitt Park and Carlton Marshes, both amazing locations for dog walking. Thank you Helen for being a great host. We had a lovely stay and look forward to returning.

    Alice2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a perfect base for your adventures. It’s roomy, clean and perfect for families. A quiet little space that was just what we needed. Will definitely be back!

    Jane2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Mole End. It was definitely our best caravan experience to date. With Helen putting so much time and effort into making the caravan a home from home (cleanliness, decor, thoughtful extras), you couldn’t not be wowed by her hosting skills.

    Victoria2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • A real diamond. Sparkling clean, cosy, great location and every amenity you would want. Fresh bread was a lovely touch.

  • A great little place to stay. I hope to return again sometime.

    Adrian2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Mole End and do hope to return. We had some really fantastic walks, saw Marsh Harriers, Chinese water deer and a Heron to name just a few of the wildlife. The area is full of wonderful scenery and views. Mole End was indeed home from home, very cosy, wonderfully decorated and with lots if finishing touches that made the place comfortable. There is Aldi, which is about a 10 minute drive, if that, up the road too. Thank you Helen for putting such a beautiful abode on Airbnb and letting us stay there.

    Laura2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Mole End is an absolute delight to stay in. From the impeccable cleanliness to the modernised features inside, this really is a true home from home feeling. Mole End is situated in a private setting; away from the club house, so perfect for much needed peace and quiet. We loved nothing more than sitting on the decking in the evening with a glass of wine under the stars - absolute perfection! Helen is the most amazing host from start to finish. She really goes the extra mile and makes sure you have the perfect holiday; one of the nicest hosts I’ve had the pleasure of communicating with. Anyone who stays here will not be disappointed! We loved every minute! Thank you Helen xxx

  • Ian's place is the perfect seaside getaway for a couple or a family with a young child. We love the location, just a couple of minutes walk from the beach, just perfect. The house is clean and cosy with the essentials needed for a self catering stay. We couldn't fault it and would happily stay again. We definitely recommend Ian's home to anyone looking for a seaside break.

    Gill2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place in a great location that is only a 2 minute walk to the beach and 5 minutes walk to several pubs and a children's playground. We loved our stay here and wished we had booked a longer trip. We are hoping to return again next year though. Thanks Ian for a brilliant stay!

    Rosie2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, lovely house, parking. Clean, tidy and spacious. Easy check in and check out. Ideal for a short break. We would definately recommend.

  • Nervous booking as first time we had contemplated staying in someone's actual home, we couldn't have been proven more wrong. Ian's home is terrific, lovely clean rooms, plenty of storage space and a very comfortable bed. His daughter's room is ideal for a younger visitor. The delightful beach with amazing 360 degree views is less than a minute's walk from the house and you can walk into Lowestoft up the beach if you wish. Whether you use it as a base for exploring the delights of Suffolk or just want to escape the hustle and bustle for a few days, do consider Ian's place. We stayed for five nights, could have easily stayed for five more. Thank you Ian

    Rob2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great and spotlessly clean. Communication with the host was good and they were very helpful, would definitely stay here again.

    Olly2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I ( we've got a one year old baby) have had a fantastic time at Ian's. The house is exactly as in the pictures. It is very cleaned and comfortable. Everything was so easy since Ian is very helpful at all times. The area is so nice. You can find places to eat, supermarkets and a lovely path by the sea that takes you into town in a 30 minutes walk aprox. It is a quiet neighborhood. No doubt we'll ask for staying again there if we're back to Lowestoft.

    Virginia2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Ian’s home was what we expected, warm, homely and peaceful. Communication was brilliant and Ian made sure we were provided with everything we needed for our stay even allowing us flexibility which is brilliant since myself and my girlfriend live on the opposite side of the UK. Having stayed at Ian’s before - when given the opportunity to stay again, I made sure that everything was perfect this time round and am hoping we would be welcomed again!

Ideal for getting away and seeing Covehithe n local attractions like horse riding in pakefield, and Africa Alive. Great pub and food at the five bells. The chalet has a great double bed and the binks were fine for me as a small adult. Loved having a full kitchen to cook in and handy electric casserole to cook a veg stew! Ideal as I stayed for Xmas. Thanks so much.

It’s on a nice complex with fish and chip shop, small shop, pub and restaurant just down the road. The place had lots of equipment and was comfortable. The bunk bed was fine for an adult to sleep in the bottom. Only thing that wasn’t great was the shower wasn’t very powerful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

Kessingland is a quiet village, superbly located for exploring Suffolk's Heritage Coastline & within reach of The Norfolk Broads. Beautiful Southwold (with its pier & Latitude Festival) is only a 15 minute drive away. The Norfolk Broads & City of Norwich (with stunning Norman Castle & Theatre Royal) are within easy reach. Lowestoft (terrific sandy beach) & Great Yarmouth are super places for family days out. Benacre Nature Reserve is on your doorstep in Kessingland & it's possible to walk along the beach to Southwold or Lowestoft from here (depending on tides). There are an incredible number of places to visit nearby (for all ages). Kessingland itself is home to Africa Alive & nearby Carlton Colville has The East Anglia Transport Museum. Alternatively, it's a great spot to just relax!
  • We loved staying in Susan's holiday home for New Years Eve. We found the place spotless and very comfortable. We loved the view and the beach literally on your doorstep! Even Evie our 6 months old Dachshund loved her first mini break!!

  • Barnacles is a true little gem on Suffolk coast, its a great location to explore the coast at Kessingland with a great sea view, I often stay here with my family and its always very relaxing, spotlessly clean always and very well equipped with all of the things that you will need for a great break away from home, we have stayed all over the uk in various coastal areas, but barnacles is a the best for a relaxed stay and its only Down to the road from Ipswich!

  • A lovely little retreat, great amenities on the park and the beach is stunning even in the dreary rain! Thank you to Sue for all her clear communication and the milk and biscuits for a cuppa when we arrived 😃

  • Such a great location. A stones throw from the gorgeous beach and plenty of activities on site to keep you busy. Barnacle was spotlessly clean with everything you needed for a comfy stay. Perfect for our 6 year old to peddle safely around the site on her bike and for our cocker spaniel to run on the beach. Will definitely return, plenty of places to explore for a longer stay.

  • Lovely caravan in a great location. Easy beach access and lots of National Trust places to visit locally which we enjoyed very much. Susan was really helpful early in the morning when the boiler went off and got us up and running again in no time! We were impressed with the kitchen which was well stocked with everything we needed, caravan was lovely, clean and cosy - would recommend!

  • We have stayed at barnacles 3 times now, and we are never disappointed! Always sparkling clean and cosy, we are coming back for a long weekend soon! The park is great for the children they love it here! Sue is a great host and great communication always!

  • We stayed in ‘Aquarius’ and ‘Barnacle’. Both are lovely homes. Aquarius is slightly larger and more modern and both are homely and have everything you could possibly need.

  • A lovely chalet in a lovely location. Perfect for long walks along the dunes and onto the beach which was only a five minutes walk. The chalet was spotlessly clean with everything you need and John was a fantastic host. Highly recommend thank you 😊

  • We stayed at Johns’ chalet as a group of four and we truly loved it. The happy, comfortable, home feeling about the place has stayed with us from the moment we’ve opened the doors to the moment we’ve left. We felt just like home yet on a holiday in a bliss quietness. The place is very well put together and even though we had two kids with us we found we had enough space for all of us. The chalet is in a great location if you like little bit of everything. Number of small or large shops are a short drive. A co-op is almost around a corner in a Kessingland village. Neighbouring town Lowestoft is a hidden gem. We spent all day on the beach with kids and absolutely loved it. The town and beach are not crowded even though they are lovely and clean. Perfect for family with small children. And for more lively day at the beach with crazy golf and lots of going on you can go to Great Yarmouth which is only about 40min drive. One little secret bonus in this chalet were the sofas ! They have those reclining things that support your legs. I am a mother of two young children so not much age on me but I did loved this extra comfort 😁 All in all, weather you are looking to spend couple of nights or a week away I do strongly recommend this place. It is as described and it’s very lovely. Sheets were clean and towels were fluffy. It is not a 5 star hotel but it is just right for the money you’re paying. Thank you John. All the best Jitka

  • Philip is a great host. He is really friendly, and if you tell him you will arrive late, or leave early etc. he will arrange something with the keys. He is normally at home, anyway. Shared kitchen is handy so you can make tea, coffee, even cook a meal if you wish. Very quiet location, and safe.

    David2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Phillip is a great host, he makes you feel very welcome when you arrive. Parking is not a problem also as it's a long road with spaces.

  • Booked this last minute and John was quick at responding and answering questions. The place was perfect for us. Cozy, enough amenities. Space was great for two young children and clear instructions on how to get into the property.

  • My two daughters (5 and 8) and I needed a place to stay as my parents, whom we were supposed to be staying with, were very ill on Christmas Eve. Dispite contacting John on Christmas Eve he responded immediately and we were accomidated in this lovely home by the sea in a matter of hours. The place was really nice and clean, it also had everything that we needed. The area was amazing; walking on the beach on Christmas day morning made quite a surreal but very special Christmas experiance!
