  • Great place

    Jordan2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • A super great and very clean apartment right on the water. Very lovingly and modernly furnished. Everything you needed was there. The kitchen in particular was very well equipped and you could prepare great food yourself. The bus stop into town is only a 5-minute walk away. Ricardo is a nice and very friendly host. Communication was very easy. Had the apartment not been rented out again after us, we would have stayed longer.

    Martin2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place was ADORABLE! Very clean, the apartment is updated and stylish. It’s right on the water, which made for a nice view. It’s very conveniently located with plenty of things around. Ricardo was very friendly and accommodating, and the entire stay was flawless. I would definitely stay here again if I get back to the area!!

  • This place was perfect me and my girlfriend. Great location to travel into downtown New Haven. As well as some great perks with a fully functioning kitchen that allowed us to cook our own meals instead of depending on eating out or doing take out. High suggest this Airbnb and will definitely be back.

Downtown loft apartment in the heart of downtown New Haven and blocks from the Omni Hotel. Enjoy a show or have a drink - this beautiful loft is in the heart of it all.
The space seeks to meld technology and comfort. From Alexa-controlled gadgets to over-sized pillows, the environment is perfect for the out of town commuter to a student on an interview.
Downtown New Haven is the neighborhood located in the heart of the city of New Haven, Connecticut. It is made up of the original nine squares laid out in 1638 to form New Haven, including the New Haven Green, and the immediate surrounding central business district, as well as a significant portion of the Yale University campus. The area includes many restaurants, cafes, theaters and stores. The area bounded by Chapel and Crown Streets is a popular stretch of restaurants, boutiques and bars located across from the Old Campus of Yale University. Includes such historic establishments as Union League Cafe and the c. 1934 Owl Shop cigar lounge. The Anchor Bar, notable for its Art Moderne style and popularity with playwright Thornton Wilder, operated on College Street from the 1940s until 2015. The area is largely coterminous with the Chapel Street Historic District. Notable buildings include the Hotel Taft and the Chapel Square Mall. The Yale University Art Gallery and Yale Center for British Art are also located here.

  • Andre's place is great! Walking distance to a lot of awesome spots in the city. Clean and accurate to the description. Great place for a stopover in New Haven!

    Deanna2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and an amazing host. Close to great restaurants, the Yale campus, and the museum.

    Gonzalo2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Andre's place was perfect for my husband and I to spend the night after a show at the College Street Music Hall. The location could not have been better - just a couple blocks from the Crowne St Garage, the Music Hall, and tons of restaurants and bars (we had a delicious meal and margaritas at Geronimo's). The king size bed was very comfy, and the whole place was very modern and clean. We'll definitely keep it in mind the next time we catch a show in New Haven!

    Becca2020-02-08T00:00:00Z

  • One of the best stays in CT!!!! The airbnb is located away from the hustle and bustle of the city, isolated from the noise and busyness. The place is a quaint guest house that is full of nice aesthetic details and touches. The place was fairly easy to find and Christine (our host) met us in person. The airbnb was extremely modern with a lot of windows to allow light in. This place is a perfect retreat for couples, friends, and even family!! There were two heaters (one in the living room and one in the bedroom), and the bathroom floor was also heated. Christine (our host) was extremely kind and made us feel at home. The place was stocked with pillows, coffee, towels, and everything that you would need for your stay. I would highly highly recommend this place to anyone trying to stay at a cozy location. Communication was extremely easy as Christine responded immediately. This place has definitely set the bar high for us for future airbnbs!!

This is a beautifully appointed studio apartment located off the patio level of a water front home. Guests enjoy a large private patio over looking gorgeous sweeping views of Long Island Sound. A private entrance and off street parking. The amazing views and amenities make this space the perfect romantic getaway! Close to I95 and Metro North railroad. Ten minutes to great dining in downtown Milford. A true waterfront oasis! Come and experience this beautiful retreat! You won't be disappointed!
The Studio is spacious, extremely well appointed, beautifully decorated and very high end. The entrance is private, at ground level, and accessed through french doors (see picture) located under the covered terrace. The host does live in the main part of the house on the two floors above the studio. However, as a super host, I'm extremely contentious of my guests privacy and comfort. When paying guests are present, the host does NOT use the patio or covered terrace. Those features are reserved for guests only. Other features include: a 1200 + square foot patio over looking incredible 180 degree views of Long Sound. Cozy bistro table by the sea wall for drinks, dinners, and breakfast by the water. Remote controlled gas fireplace in the studio for romantic evenings. A beautifully appointed bath featuring a marble glass enclosed shower with three body jets and massage shower head. A 50 inch smart TV and a Blu Ray DVD player (bring your own movies). Cable TV with HBO, Starz, Showtime, The Movie Channel, and music channels. High speed Wi-Fi. Five burner gas barbecue grill for the exclusive use of guests. NOTE: the studio is not located on a sandy beach. However, guests do have access to the shore line for beautiful walks by the water. NOTE: Cooking in the studio is limited. Please read the “Other things to note” section of the listing description for details. Thanks! Your host: David
Quiet residential neighborhood. Off street parking. Only a 15 minute drive to Silver Sands state park and beach! Many excellent restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner just a 5 to 15 minute drive from studio. Two major casinos just an hours drive away.

  • David’s place was amazing. It looks just like the pictures. The outdoor patio was our favorite. It has an elegant European feel and of course staring at the ocean is just amazing. The inside decor is nicely styled. The fireplace is romantic and cozy. We would definitely stay again! Also David himself is a very laid back, chill person which also added to the great experience.

    Robin2020-02-04T00:00:00Z

  • This home has a spectacular view - we drank wine outside in JANUARY! The studio space has all you need for a cozy weekend for 2: wine glasses, a fire place, and a view! The home was very clean. New fixtures within the space, especially the bathroom. (The shower is exquisite!) David is a great host, gave recommendations, and was responsive with communications. We'd love to visit again!

  • The apartment was neat and had plenty of kitchen supplies. They also had conditioner for the shower, which is great because I don't travel with mine. I was working at Lockwood Farm during my stay, and it was perfectly located for me. The apartment was also close to tons of food options and to Sleeping Giant State Park. I would book again.

  • Staying here was our very first time in an Airbnb and Tracy & James definitely set the bar high for any other Airbnb visit. There place was awesome, it’s clean, private, great amenities & beautiful inside and out. Plus the most comfy bed ever! Thanks so much for making our first stay perfect! Cara & Billy

  • This Airbnb is the antithesis to standard vernaculars and sets itself apart as a quintessential accommodation. Various textures and materials are elegantly and thoughtfully joined together in an atmosphere of conviviality. Depth of details throughout are provocatively distinct, nuanced, and charmingly shaped offering an exceptional user experience. A home in total harmony.

    Sydney2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tasteful, clean, welcoming place to stay with appreciated touches like tea and cocoa. Tracy was helpful bringing my “gear” in at checkin and was so thoughtful to get up early (6 AM!) the day I left to offer to help me bring it all back out to my car.

    Dale2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! This is one of our favorite AIRBNB finds! We recommend it highly!

    Therese2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • AirBnb wants to know how this stay met my expectations. The thing is, I’ve been here twice before; my expectations are so high they couldn’t possibly be exceeded. The hosts have provided everything you could possibly think of as well as a number of things you might never have thought of. The bed is comfy, the sheets are incredibly soft, and the space is so welcoming. Honestly, the only thing wrong with this space is that so many people book it, it’s not always available when I want it. Which may not matter to you, but it’s pretty darn important to me.

    Elaine2020-02-19T00:00:00Z

  • I've been staying in airbnb's around New Haven for the past 4 years and Paul's place is definitely my favorite! The area is safe and convenient to many grocery stores and restaurants. There is plenty of space in the apt for 4 ppl and it is clean and bright with a very charming outdoor patio area with a view of the river. It is also an OUTSTANDING value. It is by far the best for your money in the area!

  • Linzi’s place was the perfect spot for a quick work trip to New Haven! It was close to the city but far enough away that you can get some peace and quiet. It was easy to find and the off street parking was nice! I would definitely stay here again

    Micaela2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Linzi's home. The downstairs of the Victorian is a full apartment, very pretty and comfortable. The view was also excellent as the sun set over the water. Linzi was easy to coordinate with and her family upstairs was quiet. The whole stay was easy and comfortable -- just what I want from my airbnbs.

  • An awesome, classy, clean home with lots of room, high ceilings, comfy furniture, good shower. The surrounding area isnt the draw, its the proximity to the water and Yale/downtown New Haven. Great communication with the owners and easy access. Excellent stay!

Our rustic River Houseboat is on the edge of the Pootatuck River on our lower pond, in close proximity to our beautiful stone barn. Please note that Sticks and Stones Farm is a drug and alcohol free property and we request that all of our guests respect and adhere to our policy. Thank you!
Our rustic River Houseboat is on the edge of the Pootatuck River on our lower pond. The Houseboat has a comfy queen bed and a screened porch complete with two antique rocking chairs. The River Houseboat is often preferred because it is located close to the main Stone Barn and parking lot. The Stone Barn is open 24 hours and has a hot shower, toilet, and common room with internet and books. Keep in mind that because this cabin is located at the base of the mountain it is not as secluded as the other cabins. The Stone Barn has a grill outside and a full kitchen inside that guests are welcome to use. There is also a fully equipped Rustic Kitchen located at the top of the mountain. PLEASE NOTE -The bathroom is not located in the cabin. Both the bathroom and showers are located a one minute walk away in the Stone Barn -There is a small fire pit located near the cabin. -Candles are not allowed in the cabins Once you book we ask that you keep us updated on your arrival time so that we can be sure to be ready and waiting for you! We ask that all guests arrive before dark. Guests arriving after 10pm will be required to pay an additional $20 late check in fee in cash upon arrival. We apologize but we must enforce this even if you are late due to circumstances out of you control. It’s simple living at its best. We're just over one hour from NYC but local folks love us too. We are an easy, inexpensive "staycation" and many use us frequently as their guest "bedroom" when out of town family or friends come. We offer a unique setting for your summer get-a-way or family reunion. There is a communal Rustic Kitchen on the top of the mountain ideally situated between the Pagoda cabin, Mtn. Laurel cabin and Summit cabin. The kitchen has cookware, plates, french press, utensils, a stove, grill, coolers with ice, olive oil, salt/pepper, drinking water and a sink with running water (not potable)! Lighting is limited and we always encourage people to bring their own additional lighting. There is also a fully equipped communal kitchen located in the Stone Barn at the base of the mountain which guests are welcome to use. We do not provide breakfast at this time. There are three large designated fire pits on the property. Some cabins also have their own fire pits which is noted in their individual descriptions. Fires are not allowed to be made in non-designated places! Please Note per Connecticut state law - firewood cannot be brought in from out of the state.  Upon arrival we will provide you with a map and your own cooler with ice. We allow our guests to drive their belongings up to their cabin at check in and upon check out but cars must be parked below in designated parking areas. Please remember that during your stay you will be traveling on foot! Most of the cabins are a 10-25 minute walk through the woods, depending on your speed. The River Houseboat and Little House are at the base of the mountain next to the stone barn and parking area so very little walking is required. We restock ice and other goods daily and thus try to make ourselves as available and accommodating to changing needs as possible - we have some individuals living on the property who can be available in case of emergency. Important Things to Note: -Verizon wireless is the only network to have service throughout the property. Nearly all other providers have service on the top of the mountain where the majority of our cabins are located.  -Dogs are not allowed to stay in any of our cabins. -Please be advised that we are not solely a Bed and Breakfast; we are a working farm and while we aim to accommodate you as best as possible, there are sometimes other events going on that may affect your stay. We recommend you check our calendar of events prior to booking. Sometimes our guests enjoy participating! -There is a shower inside the stone barn, as well as two outdoor showers located near the Rustic Kitchen area at the top of the mountain. - An outhouse that is cleaned weekly is located near the Rustic kitchen, Mtn. Laurel cabin, Summit cabin and Pagoda cabin and a two room state of the art composting toilet is shared between the Solar cabin and Log cabin - both a one minute walk away - We have a wilderness camp that runs Monday - Friday from 9am - 3pm during the summer. Campers and staff respect the privacy of the cabins but you might see some groups of children building forts or playing games throughout the forest  - Please be aware that depending on rain fall the property is at risk of drought in the late summer. This can sometimes cause the pond levels to drop making it less scenic for some. - None of the cabins except the River House Boat and Little House have electric- fans are provided in these cabins - There is a Stop and Shop grocery store located 2.5 miles from the farm - If you are arriving via metro north you want to get off at Bridgeport and from there you can get a driving service for the 30-minute ride to the farm (i.e. Uber, Lyft etc.). - We do have wi-fi in the main stone barn that reaches the Little House and the River houseboat. - There are two cats that live on the property in our near the stone barn.
Though there is lots to do in the towns of Newtown, Monroe, Easton and Fairfield, surrounding Sticks and Stones Farm, most guests prefer to kick back, stay put and enjoy the quiet energy of the farm setting.
  • The little boat house is lovely! Tiny but very close to the main house and all the things you need. We had a lovely time and already want to come back!

    Juliana2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a special location. Very relaxing. The houseboat is a cute little hideaway. Take some time to hike around the area. It’s lovely.

    Deb2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The houseboat was a great stay! It's not actually floating on the water, but sits its pontoons on the edge of the pond. It has a wonderful patio and the inside is cozy and protected from the elements, while you still experience the peaceful nature outside. The houseboat is very close to the stone barn which has easy access to the kitchen, wifi, bathrooms, and showers which was a big plus. There are benches and chairs around are wonderful to relax in (and play with the cats that wander around). The extended property is beautiful! We walked along the river and hiked up to the summit and fairy gazebo which has excellent views! Definitely recommend. James was an excellent host! He was friendly and helpful, and he definitely made sure our stay was pleasant.

    Alexandra2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had our honeymoon at the farm and had a blast!! We enjoyed conversations with the rotating cast of characters who live and visit the farm, walks along the serene Moss Mountain, and watching wildlife. The houseboat was extremely charming and cozy. The bathroom and kitchen are separate from the houseboat, but less than a minute walk. Bill and James were very friendly, interesting, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We’re already planning our next stay at Sticks and Stones Farm.

    Melissa2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful space to collect your thoughts! Sticks and stones was the perfect relaxation my mother and I needed from our daily lives. Sitting in the screen porch listening to frogs every night with candlelight was so relaxing. It's the perfect spot if you enjoy quiet or need some inspiration for art. The best and most unusual part was waking up with llamas walking past your window hahaha. If able, I do recommend the hike to the top to see moss mountain and the fairy lookout. Very beautiful and quite magical with the unique structures on the hike. The owners respected our private time but were also very accommodating when we had any questions. Lovely staff and lovely place.

    Sarah2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly unique and amazing place, and the staff is so well suited to enhancing the peaceful, fun-loving vibe. I stayed on the houseboat (which is not actually floating, just close enough to marshes to hear the frogs jumping in the water along with the peaceful sound of a small and gentle waterfall), and Ii you're not sure how you feel about the rustic cabins and their location further up the mountain, I highly recommend staying on the boat for a few days to check things out. Boat is located conveniently to parking and the stone barn, which is the hub of the entire place. Convenience (nearby bathroom with shower, large commercial kitchen, wifi) AND amazing solitude (after 3 pm! summer camp takes place on the property til then, but I found the sounds from the campers to be joyful and energizing!) The bed on the houseboat is comfy, and while I was travelling solo, I felt completely safe and secure on this magical property.

  • Great "camping" for cityfolk/beginners! Since I'm not experienced in the outdoors, I liked having a roof over my head and access to a kitchen/bathroom/etc. Nice to have lots of friendly people nearby too, just in case. The riverboat house is peaceful and rustic - enjoy the relaxing view of the pond and waterfall.

    Melissa2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • You need a break, you need to relax, you need some fresh air, I’ll recommend you this place. This place is just incredible, the cabin is soooo beautiful, those people are so nice, everything was perfect. I want to go back as soon as I can

  • I stayed at Julia's for five weeks and it was a home away from home. Julia is an exemplary host, who really meant it when she said, "Make yourself at home." I strongly recommend her place to anyone looking for somewhere for an extended stay in New Haven. Her house is within easy reach of Downtown, even if you don't have a car: buses run fairly regularly from outside her house or a ten-minute walk away at the top of the street. Her kitchen is really well-equipped, and completely at your disposal, so catering for yourself is totally feasible (key tip: the nearest supermarkets are just a single bus ride away, either Elm City Market in Downtown or the Stop & Shop off Whalley Avenue (for the more budget option)). I really appreciated how Julia encouraged me to make full use of the place: whether cooking in the kitchen, working at the dining room table, reading or watching tv in the living room, or using the downstairs bathroom. The room I stayed in is at the back of the house, overlooking the yard, and is nice and quiet; virtually no traffic noise and perfectly private.

  • Julia and Peter are the best hosts one can ask for! They were extremely generous and friendly and staying at their beautiful house was simply great. You will find everything you need, the room is nice, the bed very comfortable, the kitchen kitchen equipped with all you might need and if you fancy a walk by the sea, that is just minutes away.

    Anna2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful home! The house may be older, but the interior is very well designed and decorated. The downstairs bathroom is so fun. The host is very responsive and friendly. I would definitely stay here again. The two cats are extremely well-behaved.

  • A great place to stay for visiting prospective students. I will look for a room here if I have to visit again.

  • Wonderful hosts! I stayed here for a month and they went above and beyond what I expected to make me feel at home. Courteous, kind, welcoming. Beautifully decorated. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the new haven area.

  • I loved my stay at Julia’s house so much and I was very warm welcomed. Everything was perfect prepared, communication was pretty friendly / uncomplicated and I got very detailed check-in instructions. The room is so lovely & comfortable and the bed is so snuggly that you don’t want to get up ;-) Highly recommended to stay there to feel like home. Thanks a lot!

  • Julia's home is lovely! My friend and I stayed for a night to attend a wedding in nearby Branford. In a rush to get ready for the wedding, we so appreciated how helpful Peter was in getting us the iron and hair dryer we needed! We felt very welcomed and had everything we needed.

Enjoy winery/craft beer/farm/market visits; easy to moderate hiking; world-class, indoor ropes course; indoor sports/gaming center; trampoline park, much more. Near aquarium, kids' attractions, museums, concerts, nightlife, LIS boat tours. Our fav: Downtown Cabaret Theater.
We are still the ultimate couple's, private getaway, but we're making it easier to bring the little ones for a low-keyed, but fun-filled vacation. When you're not enjoying our outdoor amenities, relax in your very own home theater with 66" HD Smart TV. Full kitchen has an electric range, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, assorted small appliances. It is fully supplied for preparing full-course meals. The bedroom features a very comfy queen bed and two twin air mattresses for the kids as well as a portable crib. Please note that dining table only seats two, but there are two TV tables. The front yard has a playset, tree swing and junior bocce and horseshoes, charcoal grill, dining set, and hammock. Backyard has three-level deck, swimming pool with deck lounge chairs and umbrella table, screen porch with hot tub, gas grill, smoker, picnic table, outdoor living room, fire pit with seating, and a hammock in the woods. We have a private, hidden deck and a top-floor deck so you may never see us!
This is a prime piece of real estate the developer originally reserved for himself and a total surprise at the end of a very normal-looking suburban double cul de sac. And yet we consider a drive of over 10 minutes to get anything - groceries, auto service, medical treatment, pet care, pizza, etc. a totally unacceptable inconvenience! We have a herd of deer, a rafter of turkeys including three huge toms in the spring, an abnormally large red fox, a pack of coyotes, a rarely-seen bobcat, and birds of every feather, including woodpeckers, owls, and vultures.
  • What a great spot for a nice weekend getaway ! The house was fully stocked with kitchen wear as I cook that was a huge plus! The hot tub was amazing too just make sure you bring some robes to stay warm as the entrance is outside the unit! Overall very happy with our stay !

  • Excellent stay at beautiful property. Host was superb! Highly recommend.

    Derek2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • As a young couple looking for a cozy weekend getaway, this ended up being the perfect choice. Between the decor, the sparkling cleanliness, and extra little touches here and there, this Airbnb is well worth a booking. The hosts are easily contacted for info and assistance and do everything they can to ensure guests feel welcome and attended to, while at the same time ensuring complete and absolute privacy. The home is secluded and the surrounding wooded area is beautiful. The town of Shelton and neighboring areas are easily reached and we were provided tons of information on local places to eat, relax, and hike. Highlight of the stay was relaxing in the hot tub at night, overlooking the woods and surrounding town below. When we got out to the porch containing the hot tub the lights were on and low, the hot tub was running, and every curtain in the entire home was drawn to respect our privacy. Some airbnbs are an extra space people rent out for some extra cash, but that’s not the case here. These are people that take pride in providing a comfortable stay for their guests and we will certainly be back.

    Stephanie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for two days and nights and let me tell you- it was delightful! The hot tub was wonderful and the space is gorgeous. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

  • Pat and Gabe's place was a peaceful spot for a getaway weekend. We were greeted at the door and given a tour when we arrived, and Pat and Gabe were quick to respond whenever we reached out. If you're looking for a relaxing place to stay in, this spot is homey and comfortable, with lots of books, games, a trail, hot tub, and a s'mores kit. If you're planning to explore the area, there's a ton to do within a few miles of the Airbnb, and the hosts provide several recommendations on their website, including restaurants, hiking trails, museums, and more. We hope to come back again!

  • Amazing stay! Pat and Gabe were very friendly and made check in a breeze. They even had orange juice and milk for the next morning to make the morning easier, as well as a towels! A true 5-Star experience! Enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and loved the space! I look forward to returning in the summer to take advantage of the pool and hot tub!! Thank you Pat and Gabe for a great experience!

Three decades of tasteful renovations — using almost 100% re-purposed material — have rendered this converted barn magazine-worthy. Set-back from the road on 1-acre of wooded land with a babbling brook, 353Brookside is a modern home that maintains its rustic allure. With 30-foot ceilings, exposed wooden beams, dozens of windows, an array of eclectic furniture and a grand piano, the charm of the barn is immediately obvious. Perfect for romantic get-aways, retreats, family gatherings and more.
Access to the entire home and 1-acre of land! The barn was built in the early 1900s to house the Oxen that built the dam down the road, hence the thick, original oak floors. The second and third floors were constructed by re-arranging the barm's giant beams horizontally instead of vertically. Almost all of the many abstract art pieces on the walls were painted by my mom and grandma. Everything has been modernized and we keep it sparkling clean! To make your stay easy, I have posted informational signs throughout the house that address FAQs, operating instructions and much more.
Quiet, quaint, peaceful neighborhood with very friendly neighbors. Many guests remark on how at ease they feel upon arrival. Convenient but private setting. Walkable to quick eats, ice cream and convenience stores. Less than 5 mininutes to grocery stores, resteraunts, and nature reserves. Less than 10-minutes to the beach, downtown, the train station, shopping areas, fitness studios, and golf courses. Just 45 miles from New York City.
  • The Barn is truly idyllic - even more gorgeous than the pictures show, beautifully cared for, cozy and stylish all at once. The location is lovely and restful - this is a perfect weekend/weekday getaway! It truly will exceed your expectations, and Davis is the greatest host anybody could wish for.

  • Great house! Great history, great host. Definitely recommend this place!

    Cedric2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great and exactly as advertised!

    David2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome house with a lot of space. We didn't need to utilize it but it's nice having rooms on separate floors with its own living room space. The house is beautiful as well as the neighborhood. There is a river that runs behind the house to the lake down the road, it was a nice walk. Do yourself a favor and enjoy the fire pit out there! And then relax in the bathtub. The shower is amazing also! We had an issue with a window and Davis was very prompt in responding to me and getting it fixed. Definitely will be the Airbnb I book if we come back to this area.

    Kelly2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Davis's house is really wonderful. We are frequent travelers and we love NYC and we usually make getaways to some nearby state to know and experience other ways of living. I write in Spanish to be more precise in what I want to tell ... I hope Davis can translate it as well as possible. We were 4 nights with my family. Every place in the house is charming, the rooms, bathrooms, dressing rooms, desk ... every space with unique details and everything you need is there, available. The living and kitchen are dreamed, the photos do not reflect the perfect style. One of our children is a musician and the piano sounds perfect. Each room has its TV with entertainment system which allows the translation of languages. The exterior is beautiful with a stream that crosses the back of the house. We made a fire on a cold afternoon and used his grill. It is a house to stay, walk for a while on the beaches and forest park and cook some specialties of Trader Joe. I recommend to travelers that in addition to enjoying NYC, relax a few days in Davis's barn. Greetings from Argentina.

    Ana Paula2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This barn is so incredibly charming! We loved everything about the place. Our favorite was the basement, where we could fit 7 of us comfortably on the couch/chairs at night & just relax. Everything was wonderful and Davis was very responsive and welcoming.

The sun rises in the back of our home and is very beautiful to see through the trees from the windows next to your bed or from your private back porch. During the Spring and Summer there are many flowers to see along the walkway to your room. The trees in the backyard provide a beautiful display during the fall as well as the winter.

The apartment is located in Westville/Edgewood: a historic, artsy neighborhood. The apartment is close to Edgewood Park, shopping, brunch spots, antiquing, art galleries, and music halls. Favorite restaurants include: RAWA, Manjares, Lena's, and House of Chao.
  • The pictures look good but the space looks even better. I’m sure I won’t be the last person to say that. Barbara added a lot of very nice touches to the space - it just felt good. Lots of beautifully made wood furniture and a super comfortable bed (tempur-pedic). You’ll enjoy staying here.

  • Very cute space, very comfortable and clean... all as advertised

    Richard2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • I hesitate to say how wonderful Barbara's apartment is since we want to return and I want the dates free! One of the best Airbnb's we have ever stayed in. A plus

    Susan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous space! Every amenity you could need was taken care of! Great Location too!

    Amanda2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what the pictures show. A perfect spot to stay while visiting yer’ kids at Yale! Parking, fireplace, full kitchen... Absolutely nothing was missing. We’d stay again in a heartbeat.

  • This space is very well crafted and the location is great. The bathroom’s heated floor and Bluetooth speaker is a very nice touch. Would stay here again.

  • This place is even better then what you see in pictures. It makes me wanna live there. It's so comfy and smells so good from the second you open the door. I followed every tip of tours and restaurants. It's the best Airbnb experience I've had. Barb and Jonah answered me very quickly. My partner and I were very impressed about the details and technology(we felt we were in a hotel room). We were looking for some resting days and we enjoyed them so much.

  • This is a peaceful serene space. Loved being right on the water. Small, but thoughtfully designed. Had a wonderful experience.

  • Loved staying here! Its in a gorgeous location with beautiful views. The house is lovely, spacious, clean and very welcoming and comfy. I didn't have a car, so was limited to the three venues open for food/drink (the fourth was closed for the season) - which were only a three min walk away and great! There is a liquor store too, but no convenience store/local store for snack/groceries. So make sure you take what you need with you (otherwise be prepared to take a cab). Would stay again!

    Angela2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A great space! Clean, cozy, beautiful water views! Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away and the suggestions from the hosts and other guests for outings, places to visit, etc!

  • Loved this cozy cottage by the water! Views were outstanding - I took a ton of pictures! Perfect size for the two of us. We caught a great live band down the road at The Stand & delicious steamers for dinner at Lennys- also right down the road from the cottage. Was really a lovely stay!

Walk to beach, restaurants, Owenego Beach Club, fish market and liquor store.
  • Great stay. Only good things to say, this little house is perfectly laid out, was very clean and comfortable. I loved that it had everything we could want (from spices to puzzles, piles of towels..). Terry answered all my questions immediately. The kitchen has everything you could want to cook big meals. The place is better than the pictures even, the master bedroom is huge and lovely. Jacuzzi tub was great fun. Short walk to a lovely beach. Lenny's restaurant practically across the road. Only glitch is that I had a bit of a struggle getting the key to work a couple of times, but Terry was really helpful. Highly recommend this Airbnb!

    Mickey2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Easy walk to the beach, close to town and places to eat. Quiet neighborhood. House was super clean and looks just like the pictures. Loads of extras. Super quick response from the owner when I had a question. Great stay.

    Kay2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • After using Airbnb for our vacations overseas, we rented Teresa's house to give us extra space for family visiting for the holidays. She was very responsive, check-in was easy, and the house was clean and convenient. It was just what we needed. As a Branford resident, I'm sure it would prove to be a great spot for a summer holiday.

    Allen2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, comfortable, very clean home close to the beach. The master bedroom is huge with lots of closet and dresser space. The bathroom has tons of extra towels and extra toiletries. That is so appreciated. The kitchen has spices and condiments so you don’t have to spend money buying these. We were here in late November so didn’t do any beach activities but we really enjoyed having coffee and breakfasts by the green along the Main Street of Branford. We would definitely stay here again.

    Margaret2019-11-26T00:00:00Z

  • Timothy's space looks exactly as pictured. But what you don't see is the incredibly comfortable bed, relaxing shower, quiet seclusion, and the perfect place to get away while still located just s few minutes to town. Timothy was available without being intrusive, which was appreciated. And check-in/check-out was smooth. Thank you for a great stay!

    Lauren2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy's place is wonderful in all aspects: clean, cozy, well-appointed, and secluded yet close to everything. The pictures showcase the apartment perfectly, including the thoughtful design and natural light. Definitely one of the most spotless rentals I've ever stayed in. Very easy access to I-95 and coastal Connecticut. Timothy was also a fantastic, quick communicator. Looking forward to staying here again on a future trip to the New Haven area.

    Logan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy was a great host. Very hospitable and accommodating. Answered any questions or concerns I had and reached out to make sure I was doing well during my stay. I’d highly recommend.

  • Quiet place to relax. Close to town and convenient location.

    Patrick2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Tim’s place. Check in and check out we’re both easy. The space is beautiful, clean, and inviting. The amenities are great. We will be back next year!

    Cynthia2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a quaint and quiet place to get away, this is THE spot. In such an ideal location as it’s not too far off the beaten path, but just far enough that you feel peacefully secluded. Beautiful views, beautifully designed home. What’s more is that you get great communication from Tim. He’s on top of making sure everything is okay, I felt that he really cared about us having a flawless trip. Would recommend undoubtedly, and would definitely return.

Due to viral issues in the world, we have taken the upmost precautions to sanitize professionally. Welcome to the best of New Haven! Comfortable, modern, clean, sun-filled loft overlooking the Wooster Square Green.Intentionally designed and well-equipped above and beyond. Located on the famous Court Street, everything is just a short walk away. 2 blocks from Wooster Street (best pizza in the world), 10 minute walk to downtown New Haven, Yale, restaurants, bars, train station, and art museums.
Our loft is created for comfort and functionality with extreme attention to detail. Enjoy wifi, Netflix, and bluetooth compatibility as you relax on a day off. The sofa bed offers an incredible queen memory foam mattress for extra guests. Need to work? Utilize the desk space and USB charging stations througout the apartment. Make some coffee or a cup of tea on us, grab a book and curl up on the couch, or simply bask culture of Court Street on our porch. This loft has it all.
New Haven's Court street is like it's "own little town". What makes the Court Street rowhouses delightful for urban dwellers is their repetitively residential nature with stair-accessed stoops and small-scale detailing amid the city hubbub. The loft is located in one of the few houses overlooking Wooster Square. It's quiet, safe, packed with culture and food, and best of all - just minutes to everything.
  • Alex & Josh definitely have one of the best properties in New Haven with very fine touches. They were always quick to respond. It was an immense pleasure to stay at their property. Highly recommended to everyone.

Private bedroom with Queen Bed, TV, WiFi, Mini Fridge, Microwave, Heat and A/C. A bedroom key is provided. Bathroom is shared with airbnb guest only. Nice, quiet, and friendly neighborhood. Close to Merritt Pkwy, I-95, Train station , Beaches, and Near University of Bridgeport, Fairfield U, and Sacred Heart University. Good for solo adventurers and business travelers. Please note that the room is bigger than what it appears in the posted photos. House#435 is on the right of #439 and 437.
My place is in a safe neighborhood and it's very close to I-95, Merritt Parkway, hospitals, Universities, Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, and restaurants. It has 2 floors. I live in the first floor. The second floor has 2 private rooms and a bathroom, which I rent to airbnb guests only. The bathroom's ceiling, on the side the bathtub is placed, is slanted. Guests, 5'11" or above, might have a bit of difficulties taking a shower. Guests can park in my driveway or on the street for free.
The neighborhood is safe and my neighbors are great people.

    Anthony2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a fun and unique experience! The dome was very clean, and well prepared for our stay. Robert was extremely helpful, and even gave us some fresh tomatoes from the farm, which were delicious! We would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Robert's place was a cozy, relaxing getaway for the weekend. We loved the glamping-style of the dome, and being surrounded by nature. We also spend an afternoon at Bantam lake, a beautiful spot that's only about 15 mins away from the place. Would definitely recommend the dome to anyone looking to get away for a weekend to relax!

  • Cozy little place with a lovely stream in the back yard. Everything was excellent.

  • Connie’s place far exceeded any expectations we may have had. The best way to describe it is I felt like we were staying in a life-sized fairy house. From the white lights around the plants on the deck, to the rock stacks to the sound of gushing water from the brook. Even more peaceful than the ocean. There were snacks, drinks and a special birthday cake to welcome us. Connie’s home was cozy and and tastefully decorated, with unique little reminders throughout that all is possible if you Believe. It truly was a beautiful get-away!

    Robin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very comfortable and inviting. We were welcomed with complimentary wine and a cheese platter. One of my favorite Airbnb experiences!

    Joshua2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Connie’s home is a wonderful getaway. I stayed in the cottage at the end of December and it was filled with Christmas spirit everywhere I turned. If you love Christmas, you’ll love to stay here around the holidays. If you don’t love Christmas, you probably will by the time you check out. The home was cozy but had just enough space for myself, my husband, and my 1 year old. Everything (kitchen/bathroom/etc.) is newer and clean. I especially enjoyed stepping out onto the deck to drink coffee and listening to the rushing water of the nearby brook. The cottage also has fast WiFi, two TVs, and a Google Home. We could not ask for for more. Can’t wait to return.

    Leah2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway. It's far enough from the center of Guilford to feel like you're truly getting "away from it all", but it's also close enough so you can spend time in town without thinking about driving for too long. The amenities were so nice, and the cottage was so quiet and peaceful.

    Jeremy2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Connie’s place was better than expected! Her space is a perfect getaway, right down the street from a hiking trail and near lots of vineyards. There is a gorgeous brook outside the house and Connie left a wealth of local resources, wine and cheese along with milk for coffee in the fridge. If you’re looking for a quiet homey home away from home - this is the spot for you!

    Simrun2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Home away from home. Idyllic serene location. Great amenities. Just fell in love with it.

    Shyamala2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Connie's home is one of the coziest, most relaxing and tranquil places I've ever had the pleasure of staying. If you need a getaway from the city or if you're looking for a romantic spot, look no further. Thank you Connie, we will be back!

Comfy leather queen bed with hardwood floors, desk/chair & clothes rack. Free umbrellas, free printing, free bikes, free day storage for guests! 2 minutes walk to restaurants, bars and Yale, free basic bicycles available to guests, free washer dryer with free laundry detergents, high speed wifi. Pls read check-in instructions once you've booked. House has foolproof security system/codes & security cameras. Pls be advised that there is no air conditioning. Window fans with screens are provided. Parking is free, openly available outside house on street.
Note: Lilly Pad has 5 rooms, is for students and is no frills. If you are a party of 2, select 2 guests. So you share common space with others. Plus we have 7 Bengal Cats and their kittens that live outside the house in their own housing chambers but you will see their supplies around the back or front yard. Other student guests staying here may make your stay good, great or not so good. It depends who books. So if you are not a student, or have a problem putting on your own bedsheets, or stripping them at checkout, or have a problem with students storing their luggage or me crashing out in living room at times, or have any issues with the detailed instructions I send after you book, talk to me first or do not book. I do not want a 4 star review because you were not made aware of what to expect here. Skip the review or please do not book if your expectations are different. Check in anytime. Just follow self checkin process. Any questions or anything pls feel free to call or text. We have lot of guests and its difficult to manage expectations especially for non yalie visitors as house is really geared for no frill Yalies. Cosy, ideal for Yale visitors. The room is part of a victorian home that has been a welcoming spot for Yalies for last 4 years. It is not a hotel. It is a lived-in space and has many visitors. Therefore if you are expecting a hotel, this is not it. Cleanliness and organization is important for me the host and I hope it is important to you as well but please keep in mind sometimes because of people checking in, checking out, cooking, studying, typing, printing assignments, house gives a "lived-in" look. Price is lower than what comparable homes ask for on Airbnb. Amenities and proximity to Yale is comparable if not better than a lot, if not most, of the options on Airbnb. But if you are for immaculate cleanliness a hotel is probably a better option (at three times the price in downtown New Haven). Also note, when in town, I often end up crashing out in the living room couch - full disclosure. House has a lived-in look. You will see residents luggage in living room or people coming in and out. Noise: There may be 3 potential sources of noise. (1) Street people and downtown cars playing loud music. There is nothing that can be done about this. It comes with living downtown close to Yale. (2) Next door neighbors playing music. There is a New Haven City Ordinance that requires peace and quiet after 9 pm. If you encounter annoying music played by neighbors, read my printed instructions regarding making a noise complaint with the New Haven police printed in the hallway/stairs and make the complaint call. (3) Other Guests talking loudly in the house. Remember you are one of the several guests staying. So if someone talks loudly and you find it disturbing, please either tell me or talk to the loud guest and let him/her know to keep it down. These things are beyond my control, as I have open booking on Air BnB. Therefore do not book if you expect a library environment. I don't need a 4 star review based on sounds that are not in my control. Note on Clutter: Free Storage provided to guests on main floor adds to the clutter. Additionally there is always some element of improvements taking place on premises. This place is for Yale students and no frills travelers who are looking for budget and safe travel options at Yale. There is no clutter on 2nd and 3rd floors, where the rooms are located. Also, if instructions on self checkin scare you, please do not book. Watch the self checkin video. Security and guidelines help all. Hence the elaborate instructions you get when you book. Cameras & Security at Yale: Please note Yale has iffy neighborhoods. I have EXTERNAL security cameras. So if you have an issue with external security cameras, pls do not book. Specifically, 2 EXTERNAL security cameras (in front and back of house), a Security System with motion sensor on ground floor. No sensors/cameras on 2nd/3rd floors.
5 minutes walk to Old Yale Campus. 2nd house from Elm Street. Step out of Lilly Pad. Make right on Elm. You will be at Yale in 5 minutes. Step out of Lilly Pad. Make left on Elm, grocery superstore Stopnshop is 30 seconds walk.
  • This place is just a stones throw from all the major landmarks in downtown. Excellent place for students and job traveller's. I came here and stayed for a week and Aly is a great human being who will talk to you as if he knows you from ages. Great experience. His instructions are mind blowing in airbnb.

    Satish2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful and quaint New England house with a kind, accommodating, and welcoming host. The walk to Yale and downtown New Haven is easy and short, and the security of the house made me (a single woman traveling alone) feel very safe and comfortable. The house is laid out similarly a very nice student hostel, with common areas and bathrooms, but private and secure rooms for individual guests, each with a name, theme, comfortable beds and ample storage. There is access to laundry/iron, kitchen, and living spaces, great internet, and Aly was kind enough to let me use the printer as well. The posting is honest about it being a shared home with no frills, so don’t expect a pristine and untouched 5star hotel, but a well-loved and lived in space that is safe, comfortable, and budget-friendly. I don’t normally leave reviews but really enjoyed my experience and hope to come back on my next trip to New Haven!

  • Convenient location

    Shayne2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Though it is no-frills, it was easy to find what you needed as everything is spelled out for you. The room was nice and warm. Comfy bed. Lived-in but really clean. Checking in and out was a breeze. Aly was very responsive. Yale within walking distance.

    Justin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I def recommend Aly's place! It is perfect for a short stay. Probably one of the closest Airbnb to the university. The toilets were clean and Aly is a quick responder. The place includes a massive amount of security protections, such as cameras and walk-in codes, which some people might find intimidating, but I've found restful.

    Jill2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Quick and very professional responses. I came to Yale on a very very cold day. The place is exactly as it described and photoed. The first night is too cold even including the provided mobile oil heaters in the bedroom. When the host realized that, they secretly raised up the thermostat to 90 ( not 75 l set up ) so the room could be heated enough, which is a sweet move. I think they are sweet hosts not showing through language. The pillows someone mentioned in previous comments are improved. Do read through the rules and listing before booking.

A charming original turn of the century cottage that was recently renovated. One main room plus a full bathroom and Ikea kitchen. It includes a back porch that gets a perfect amount of late afternoon sun. The cottage has electric baseboard heat for cool Fall nights. We are located in Indian Cove Beach Association with a two block walk to the beach. You are welcome to enjoy our kayaks, bikes to tour the area and a fire pit.
Just want to mention this is a very small cottage. In great weather the outdoor living space is a wonderful addition of space.
Today I had a guest mention the cottage was magical. It made me smile. Maybe because I feel like I succeed in creating someplace special. A place to relax, retool and spent some time in nature. The cottage is nestled in the woods with tall trees. We are also a short walk to the beach. It is a bit primitive because this is how cottages were built in the 1920’s. Very simply.
  • Gail is, simply put, the consummate hostess. The cottage is wonderful and the hospitality is even better! This is a cant miss experience for anyone looking to explore Guilford and the surrounding area.

    Duane2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to decompress with no TV. WiFi included does still keep you connected with the world. Lovingly funky but really well equipped for an extended stay. Three in-wall heater systems keep everything toasty in spite of almost no insulation. The unleashed dog beach is great given almost no public parks anywhere close allow dogs.

    Dennis2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Gail’s cottage is adorable. It looked even nicer in real life than in the photos. It is pretty spacious, super clean, comfortable, and cute. The decoration and extra touches are thoughtful. The location is lovely. It’s right by the water and in quite a private and quiet area, which we found great for relaxing. Gail was very easy to communicate with. She left some friendly and hospitable notes and instructions. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

    Sarah2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was perfectly adorable. Everything about it exceeded our expectations, and we definitely plan to head back next year to experience even more of Guilford. The cottage was clean, exceptionally organized in terms of amenities (including a binder that laid out details of the rental as well as all the area had to offer)—with a hand-drawn map of the vicinity so we’d know where to go to access the local options—and every aspect of communication was top-notch. The only hesitation we have in recommending the place is that we don’t want everyone to know how completely perfect our experience was, because we absolutely plan to rent again and want to make sure there’s some availability!

    Victoria2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Loved loved loved staying here! Gail was amazing, very attentive and response time was fast. She had a list of multiple local places, stores and day trip tips. My husband and I had a nice dinner on the patio with a view of the coast. The place was clean, very cute and super cozy. My favorite part would be the reading nook area. Spent a good portion of the night there with the fairy lights on, reading one of the books Gail had provided. Will definitely stay here in the future.

    Luda2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Cottage at Indian Cove is a wonderful hiding place. Gail is an excellent host and you will find that the cottage is just as described. It is a quiet and serene place with lovely options for day trips or to just do nothing besides read a good book and stick your toe in the water.

    Katja2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Gail's place and likely won't be our last! We enjoyed the fire pit 2 nights in a row. Our dog was welcomed with no questions asked! The cottage is always super clean. We love the small space while also feeling like a home! The screened in porch is our favorite. We love the short walk to the dog friendly beach. We will be back!

    Caitlyn2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • A quiet neighborhood with a short walk to a private beach/cove. This charming cottage was perfect for 2 people. While the host lives just steps away and can help with any issue that might come up, she will also respect your privacy. Extras were plenty of drinks in the fridge, fresh fruit, snacks and a few spices in the cupboard. Our favorite was the beautiful terrace to sit out on for coffee in the morning or for an evening glass of wine. It is tucked away on a hill with a shared driveway and handy to all Guilford attractions. The best endorsement I can give is, we plan to book it again next year!
