Places to stay in Schenevus
**important** Because of the current health crisis we will not be hosting guests in April. Thanks for your interest and hopefully we can reopen soon. Get away from it all in this secluded off-grid cabin. Inspired by traditional lean -tos and modern Swedish design. This minimal space features a wall of windows that makes you feel like you are sleeping in the trees, while staying cozy and dry! Relax, unplug, and listen to the nearby stream, birds, & the rustle of leaves.
Fern valley eco cabin was built and designed by Yona. It is a timber frame structure, made with pine wood. The cabin has no (running water november- april) electricity or WiFi. You are free to access our WIFI by our house, a 5 min walk from the cabin.
20 minutes to Stamford, Hobart and Cobleskill. 45 minutes to Bovina, Cooperstown and Oneonta. Explore the trails, farms and great restaurants of the surrounding Catskills!
  • The cabin was great you get exactly what is shown in the images. The cabin was warm and cozy and the outhouse was clean. When we stayed though it rained the day before and its getting warmer so the pond was over flowing and it was pretty muddy by the bonfire which was okay as long as you had some kind of boots on. Besides that I definitely would want to go back when things are drier. P.S: Their dog going on a morning stroll and hanging out with us as we were getting ready to leave was the best, he genuinely made me want to stay longer.

  • Amazing stay. The cabin was beautiful, plenty warm and cozy. Located in very beautiful private spot. Happily do it again.

  • I can't express enough how much we loved this cozy little cabin! It is designed beautifully with beautiful, peaceful views of the surrounding woods. It stayed super warm, even on the snowy night we spent there. The host greeted us warmly and walked us to the cabin, even though we got there quite late. Can't wait to go back!

    Claire2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing space and made for a very unique and memorable stay. The cabin is tucked away in the woods so we felt like we had complete privacy, even while outside enjoying the fire pit. Our visit was at the end of February, so there was snow on the ground but even so the cabin’s heater worked wonders and kept us warm throughout our stay. Yona and Elan were very welcoming and gracious hosts, greeting us with beers upon our arrival and helping us make sure the heat turned on, etc. We highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to get out of the city!

    David2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful space. Elan was so helpful and attentive; even had warm cookies waiting for us! I’m really looking forward to coming back. Can’t wait to sit by the fire in the summer months, and give the outdoor shower a try! Thanks for everything!

    Lillien2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolutely magical place to spend time. We went in mid-February for a long weekend -- although we were excited, we were admittedly a bit worried that we might be cold the entire time. Yona and Elan's space, despite our (needless) worries, kept us super warm and cozy throughout our stay, and their hospitality and little touches (greeted us with beer and muffins!) made us feel very welcome. Though the bathroom is an outhouse, it is immaculately clean -- not just for an outhouse, but for a bathroom! We would highly recommend this trip for anyone looking to escape the city for a few days. Thanks, Yona and Elan!

    Andrew2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • One of the coolest Airbnb stays, spectacular cabin, Elan and Yona are super hosts!

    Shlo2020-01-01T00:00:00Z

  • Dave’s place was great. Me and my girlfriend took a weekend trip up recently to check out the baseball HOF. The house was awesome. Everything that we were looking for. Updated home, very clean and had everything we needed. Perfect location - a 5 min ride to Cooperstown restaurants and bars. Would 100% stay here again on next trip.

    Sara2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great stay. Dave was good and quick with communication, and accommodating with our later check-out time. Place was very clean, updated, and HUGE. SO much cozy space for 2 adults and a baby. Beds are firm and sheets are soft. Full kitchen (bring your own coffee) amenities, laundry, and 2 showers w/ shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Perfect place if you want to enjoy Cooperstown and some of the local breweries. Easy check in and out. Great surprise - cable didn't work (or we couldn't figure it out) but full access to a Roku for Netflix, Hulu, etc. Would come back anytime.

Beautiful light and airy post and beam contemporary house in gorgeous country setting with a sweeping view of the Charlotte Valley in the foothills of the Catskills. Perfect for a romantic get-away, family or ski weekend (Hunter, Windham, Bellayre, Plattekill just under an hours drive). Close to Cooperstown/Baseball Hall of Fame, quaint villages, farm to table restaurants. Absolutely no hunting allowed on the property!!!
PLEASE READ - We don’t have internet at the house - when we spend time at the house we use our phones with Verizon service as Hotspots. For vacation mode that usually is sufficient- you can check emails, social media, play games on your iPad etc. It most likely won’t support a Zoom or Webex video sessions, if you plan on working remotely. I’m writing this during the Coronavirus epidemic due to the numerous inquiries we’ve received. Unfortunately there is not a cable or internet provider currently offering fast service at this address! This country house has two large dedicated bedrooms with a California King bed each, and a walk-out level guest room with a pull-out double couch, that can sleep 2 people. The master bedroom on the top floor is very large and open to the living area below. Please be aware that although it is private, it is open to sounds from the main floor. If you enjoy curling up on the couch with a good book, the wood stove can add to a cozy ambiance. If the weather is nice, you will love eating on the large back deck. The kitchen is fully stocked with kitchen and tableware. Should you want to be more active and just return to the house for the night, let me know and I'll provide a list of restaurants and things to do! Our location invites you to relax, take in the views, enjoy a glass of wine on the front porch. If you’re quiet, chances are you will see deer and turkeys wander through the garden, or if you’re really lucky you will see our resident Bald Eagles circle over the field behind the house. While you sip a cup of coffee on the deck in the early fall, just wearing a sweater over your pj’s, you might see how quickly the morning fog moves through the Valley. As you can tell we love this valley and hope you will enjoy your stay here too! (We think it’s magical, and who needs WiFi if you have all this - sorry no internet!)
We are located in the foothills of the Catskills. Oneonta, a small university town, is the closest city - about a 20 to 25 minute drive. Cooperstown is about 30 minutes away. Albany is about an hour away and depending on traffic, it takes us 3 to 3.5 hrs to the George Washington bridge in NYC.
  • Beautiful home. Airy and comfortable. Loved the decor and artwork. Gorgeous view. Laima is attentive and accommodating.

  • Beautiful place! All of the extra touches were delightful and personal. We didn’t want for anything!!

    Shannon2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a really great place. Highly recommend. Thanks Laima!

    Yonatan2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really relaxing and stylish house. Easy check in and it was incredibly clean. Laima instantly responds to messages and we loved our stay there. We'll stay again for sure

    Christopher2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • You can't go wrong with this house. It exceeded my expectations. The design is thoughtful and stylish. Laima was super communicative and quick. The house has everything you need and more, from basic necessities to games. We loved the vinyl, collection, plants throughout the space, and the handmade soaps. We will definitely stay again.

    Brandon2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay, every amenity is there, a great experience.

    Lynn2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Laima was the perfect airbnb host, and her home was one of our best experiences. The house was stylish and more spacious than we expected. It provides a great chance to spread out and relax. The outdoor setting was very pretty and provided a huge field space for gazing at an enormous night sky. The bit of snow during our late autumn trip added such nice atmosphere. Laima is so generous with her home, spaces, games, suggestions, and food. This place was a terrific value for us as four adults. We would like to return!

    Nick2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house was spectacular. Clean, modern and an accommodating host. I highly recommend a stay here whether you are looking for some rest or relaxation or visiting the area. You will not be disappointed. I look forward to coming back!

  • Cute little place to stay! My husband and I loved it!

    Autumn2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great cozy space in a quiet village outside of Cooperstown. We loved the location and were very pleased with the comfortable space. We would definitely stay with Vivian again on a future visit.

    Rory2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Vivian is a friendly host with a sweet cat (who stays in its side of the house) who has a beautiful separate space only about 5 minutes outside of Cooperstown that offers a separate entrance, its own sitting room, and a nice big back yard for relaxing (when it isn't only 6 degrees outside!). She was very helpful and added extra touches such as providing bottled water for guests and offering the use of her own kitchen in case we needed it.

    Katharine2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Vivian is so thoughtful friendly! The space is so quaint and inviting. I had such a nice sleep when I was there.

    Tanya2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure staying at Vivian's place. It was a super cute little space with a separate bedroom. Bed was nice and comfy. I would definitely return.

    Tanya2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Vivian’s space was extremely clean and inviting. There is a door for coming and going at your leisure, which was great. Would recommend and stay again!

    Brooke2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely kept private space a few miles outside of Cooperstown. Quiet, comfortable (has its own heat controls). Vivian is a great host.

    Maggie2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Host is very friendly and accommodating. Private entrance and bathroom. Spacious yard with a great view. Short drive to the Hall of Fame. It's a little hard to see the house numbers at night, so maybe call ahead or check in during daylight.

  • jeanne's and jay's place was truly a find. we needed to get away from the craziness of the city and the cozy cabin provided for us a mental break. the communication with jeanne was prompt and the check-in was very easy. the property is definitely secluded if you need to get away from people. the house is very spacious and sparkly clean. it has all the amenities that we needed. jay was even kind to take out the outdoor gas grill for us although it was pretty cold that particular weekend. we were very appreciative because we wanted to prepare our st. patrick's day meal and it turned out to be the best! jeanne and jay left for us a book with local tips and house manual so our stay was extremely easy. i would highly recommend these hosts. they are very kind and attentive hosts!

    Livia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne &Jay are wonderful hosts! They met us on site for a warm welcome & to let us know they're available if we needed anything. The location is perfect as it's central to Oneonta &Cooperstown with lots to do! Beautiful place clean, cozy & with beautiful scenery. We can't wait to come back. Thank you for having us!

  • Excellent value, responsive and caring owners. Over communication made everything about our stay that much easier. Thank you for contributing to our wonderful time in the Cooperstown area!

    Mark2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay at, will definitely meet expectations.

    Samuel2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a quiet place in the country with almost no traffic and a beautiful view, this is the place. Within a 15 to 20 minute drive of Oneonta and Cooperstown, it is both economical and practical. Jeanne is very accessible for any needs or questions. The house is reasonably equipped , and comfortable. The wifi is good and needed for communication as, depending on your cell phone provider, there can be a challenge to make calls directly. It is, after all, out in the hills which is part of its charm. Overall, we had a very good and restful experience.

    Paul2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • This very quiet, out of the way house had beautiful views and had all the amenities a family could need. The owner Jeanne, was extremely sweet and accommodating. She was there when we arrived, and made us feel very at ease that she was only 5 minutes away should we need anything. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very neat and clean. The walkway is a bit steep and uneven, which might be a problem to anyone with stability issues. The roads leading to the house are not lit at all and very winding, which was a bit scary when you have no clue where you are going at night. Lots of deer and wildlife to consider!! Thankfully, our GPS got us there without a problem!! We stayed at the house during Family Weekend at Oneonta University. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to do much exploring. The house is only 15 minutes from the campus and pretty much a straight yet squiggly line from door to door. The views of the forests and countrysides were breathtaking! We would highly recommend staying here to all Oneonta college student's families. It is so nice having all the conveniences you would never find in a hotel!!

    Jacqui2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne's cozy corner house was just as described. We had a relaxing weekend of kayaking , biking and stargazing. The lack of ambiant light in the countryside made for wonderful starshows both nights. The house was private and well appointed with all the comforts of home. Close to Cooperstown and Lake Ostego and a very good value as it had a complete kitchen with all the utensils needed to make some spectaculer meals for ourselves. Will be back again in the future😃.

  • We had a truly amazing stay! We were in town to visit family and this location was very close to them and the downtown area. Kirstin went above and beyond in every way. She helped me print an important document that I forgot at home and had it ready and waiting in the sunrise suite when we arrived. The suite was spacious, very clean, had everything we needed including coffee for the mornings. We stayed with 2 adults, 2 children and a baby. Kirstin provided a pack n play, which was great because it was one less thing we had to travel with. The 2 older kids stayed in the loft and at ages 8 & 5 didn’t have any problems with the climb up and loved having their own space. The king size bed was comfortable and located in a spot where the whole family was able to snuggle up and watch a Christmas movie on Netflix. We absolutely loved this rental and will defiantly book again next time we visit! Thank you for everything Kirstin... I could keep going on and on about what a great rental this is!

  • This was our first experience with AirBNB and it was amazing...from the detailed messages on what to do and expect to the little touches of home we felt very comfortable! We were visiting my son who attends SUNY Oneonta and it was a great space to go back to and relax...it was super clean and provided everything thing we needed for the weekend...we will certainly be back!

  • Absolutely exceeded our expectations. Probably my favorite air bnb I've ever stayed at. Scenic, yet a few miles from town. Such cute decor and thoughtful amenities. Will definitely be back for another stay soon!

  • The place was awesome and clean and cozy and we had a great time! Fireplace in the space was really cool, great suggestions for things to do. A nice place for a cozy weekend in as well!

  • What a delightful, light, fresh space. We loved the views from all the windows and rested so well on the comfortable bed. Thank you!!

  • Kirstin’s place was one of the best places I have ever stayed at. Extremely clean, a great location (about 25min from Cooperstown), and her communication and hospitality were exceptional. She went above and beyond when she literally purchased and installed a new tv within a couple of hours from me telling her the old one was broken. I would recommend staying here 100% and I would absolutely stay here again.

  • My husband and I were looking forward to our stay at the Last Stand because we enjoyed it so much the last time a few years ago. Definitely surpassed our expectations! Emily is the most wonderful and thoughtful host and Dean's books are always a treasure to read. We really enjoyed cozying up in the apartment as it snowed lightly outside. Really a perfect place to go to enjoy the outdoors and have a peaceful time under the stars. Felt like coming home!

    Jean2020-01-02T00:00:00Z

  • Emily & Dean's place is perfect for a quiet weekend getaway! They were very responsive and helpful with local recommendations. There were no issues whatsoever and the space was just what we were looking for.

    Michael2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A retreat in the country, just what is needed for relaxing.

    Claire2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Emily and Dean are welcoming, and their space is comfortable and welcoming too. My sweetheart and I have stayed with them a few times and have always enjoyed our time there.

    Kara2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Emily and Dean are a lovely couple sharing the bounty of their hearts, garden and property. Loved our early morning walks through their fields in the fresh clean air. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it all more! Dog friendly and equally enjoyed by our big Golden. We'll be back again!

  • Except to feel at home here.

    Donna2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lively quiet location. The star gazing at night was amazing and the giant king sized bed was so comfortable.

    Pat2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Although it feels Very remote and isolated (which was perfect for us), it is so conveniently located for a visit to Cooperstown. Exactly as advertised.

    Jared & Rachel2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful little cottage that’s just a short drive to Cooperstown. The views are stunning and the peace and quiet is well worth a visit. Mary was very friendly and responsive. We enjoyed our stay and will return again.

    Ismael2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a serenely comfortable place to go if you are looking for a retreat from the clatter of everyday life. My wife and I got a lot of reading done here in between visits to Cooperstown. It is an old but gracefully aging home, spacious, with wide plank floors, a luxurious king size bed and a little front porch where you can sit and talk and perhaps enjoy a glass of wine in the quiet of an evening. It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we highly recommend it.

    Herm2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • It's billed as an artists retreat - and we found it inspiring - lovely, quaint, comfortable, clean and quiet. Not having wifi is conducive to creativity - and restful relaxation.

    Ethan2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's place was terrific. Lots of room, all the amenities, and a comfortable bed. We attended a wedding in Cooperstown, and found the quick 10 minute drive was easy!

    Sharon2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Although we never meet Mary directly, I can't express how thoughtful she was. Even when we had car issues that caused us to not spend one of our nights, she invited us to spend an extra night, free of charge. The cottage was exactly as described and very convenient for anyone heading to the Bassball Hall of Fame or watching the Little League Baseball games at the Allstar or Dream Parks.

A nice room with a private bath.. Has a queen bed ..very comfy Posturpedic bed
This is an interesting old building and it was built as a hotel.. It feels like a mix between a very old house and a hotel, and the hotel part makes it comfortable and easy to stay at....The private bath is very nice

  • This place was a lovely place especially if you appreciate the beautiful building for what it is and age. I love historic buildings. Room was very clean and basic which is what I needed. A place to lay my head. Bill was extremely quick and responsive to any questions and accommodating last minute booking. My only issue (which is to be expected ) was the traffic noise being beside an old highway. Slept with my sleep sound app and it wasn’t bad at all. Bed was very comfortable. I will be back next time I’m in town. I was worried it would be sketchy like the other places around but was definitely not at all!!!! Felt very safe travelling as a single woman.

    Meagan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was no frills, funky, and though spartan, it totally served our purpose: comfortable bed, private bath, easy check-in. Bill was helpful and available if we needed anything. (He has an interesting art collection and many are for sale.) Quiet town but it does have a bar LOL. One tip- don’t let Google Maps take you over the mountain if you’re coming from Cooperstown- you may never be heard from again!)

    Darcie2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nice charming place right off the highway. Easily accessible. Perfect spot for where I wanted to go. Definitely would consider booking it again if it’s available on my next visit.

  • As a work traveler for over 36 years this is the greatest app for finding local hospitality- and Cindy is an exceptional hostess in every way imaginable. She knows the area and her home is cozy (not cluttered), clean and she has numerous common rooms which are all very comfortable.

    Janelle2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Warm, welcoming, clean and comfortable. I would recommend Cindy's place for anyone. We had great talks over coffee about baseball, gardening, area attractions and family. Just like staying at a family members home.

    Edward2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Cindy’s rental. She couldn’t have been more welcoming and responsive to questions. The place is very comfortable and it feels very inviting. Well located near everything on Main Street. The kitties Buddy and Ginger are the absolute sweetest! You will feel right at home if you stay here.

    Adrienne2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great value! Cozy, comfortable room. Great responsive host. Walking distance to downtown Oneonta.

    Jake2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful space that was located close enough to Cooperstown for a baseball fan like my hubby. Cindy was very responsive and made our checkin a piece of cake without having to be present at the moment of our arrival. The room was comfortable with a working A/C and good mattress. The bathroom is a couple of strides from the bathroom. Use of her kitchen and the treats she offered were great and helpful as we ran out of the house in the morning Cindy has a welcoming personality and has many stories to tell about the local areas and Cooperstown. We loved the chats and trivia! Cindy has two roommates. Ginger and Buddy who are also perfect hosts and I enjoyed their presence. We certainly will use this property again in the future.

    Alma2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy was amazing. She goes out of her way to make you feel at home. Very clean and cozy. Place is close to the All Star Village, a lot of local hang outs as well as some stores. Definitely would stay again.

    Rogelio2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful visit at Cindy's place. She is a most accommodating host and is welcoming to her visitors, giving us free reign of the kitchen, which we appreciated. I am so happy we had an opportunity to stay there!

    Jay2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy has a wonderful collection of art throughout her home. She is warm and friendly and great to talk to. Her home is 2 doors down from a fabulous Italian restaurant. The room we stayed in was small but very comfortable with lots of extra linens and towels. You can not beat the price and the location and we are pleased we found this place.

  • This find was perfect... Bright, clean and cozy! We stayed here for a week at the end of a 3 week family vacation Road Trip. Our boys were staying at the Cooperstown All Star Village while the rest of us got to stay at this gem. Ryan & Kimmy are delightful. Attentive and easy to get a hold of with any questions. They had great info on what to do in the Area. We absolutely fell in love with the area and will be visiting again.

    Syndia2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this spot! Didn't want to leave at the end. The apartment was bright, cheery, clean, and comfortable. It was easy to find and close to everywhere we wanted to go. Ryan and Kimmy were friendly, easy to contact, and very informative and helpful. They even had cookies on the table when we showed up! The neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors friendly. I can't think of anything I would have changed!

    Alana2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place! Very comfortable and clean. Would stay again, for sure.

    Nicole2016-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I recently took a long weekend trip to the Catskills with two friends and had the pleasure of staying in Ryan's apartment. This is a great AirBnB find - easily accessible in a quiet part of Oneonta, a great home base if you're exploring this and nearby areas, and the ideal size for four adults. The kitchen has plenty of counter space - perfect for cooking breakfast and dinner while we were there - along with a table for dining. We found the living room very comfortable for lounging, playing games, etc, and there's also a beautiful porch, though we weren't able to use that as much due to rain during our stay. This was one of my favorite Air BnB stays so far - definitely recommended!

Succurro is a holistic health care facility, that seeks to provide space for regenerating our humanity and reclaiming a right to health. In addition to trainings, workshops, and events, we offer time and space away. This comes in the form of programs, or simply renting an apartment, tent or room here. For renters, healing sessions are an option - you may see more about what we do at our website (search: Succurro New York).

  • A truly magic location. Peaceful, quiet and great energy. Perfect place to escape and recharge.

    James2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Succurro. The farm was breath taking and vast for endless exploring. The tree swing and animals were a big hit with our daughter. We really appreciated the farm fresh eggs, milk and coffee. The entire home was cozy and perfect for relaxing. I can’t wait to return for a longer stay next time. Thank you!!

    Sylvia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Most magical place in NYC! We are definitely coming back soon.

    Ariel2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Succurro was an absolute dream escape from hectic NYC. The farm is beautiful, private, secluded and a perfect place to relax and unwind, take serene walks, and (if you’re so inclined) discover the lovely playful nature of goats and pigs. The apartment is roomy and spacious but super cozy and comfortable, Allie and Damien were wonderful hosts, and the farm fresh eggs and goats milk in the fridge upon arrival were a thoughtful touch that made for delicious breakfasts. While perfectly secluded, the farm is also a short drive to the lovely town of Delhi, which is super quaint but nevertheless packed with gems – among many others, the fantastic Blue Bee cafe, locally sources whole foods grocer Good Cheap Food, & Dixie’s liquor store which has an amazing selection rivaling “the big city”. For those looking for a bit more selection, the city of Oneonta is similarly nearby. I had a fantastic stay at Succurro – I would recommend unreservedly it to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing get-away, and I’m looking forward to returning!

  • Succurro was so great I extended my stay! And I’ll definitely be back!

    Ayda2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this lovely escape from the city. Damien and Allie were terrific hosts (we did not get the chance to meet Owyn) and encouraged us roam the property, visit their animals, and even let my daughters hold their baby goats, so cute! The space was impeccably clean and the fresh eggs and goat milk were a wonderful touch. We'll be back!

    Myryah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time ay Owyn's place, and it was just as great as the first time!

A nice room with a private bath.. I am posting this a room for 1 person... It has a very nice posturepedic single bed most of the time but I can put in a full size bed as well so 2 persons can stay for 5 bucks more... If you like old historical houses this is interesting because this room is one of the oldest operating hotel rooms in America.... The building is most likely late 18 century but was built as an Inn, not a house so this is a historical hotel room

  • Bill was extremely responsive and accommodating, both for me and for my motorcycle! The inn, as advertised, is basic and genuinely rustic, but if you like that, as I do, you will enjoy your stay. Access to the kitchen was key as there is only one local dining option. Also, the laundry facilities were a great plus. And NYST is literally a five minute ride away, if that's why you're in the area.

  • This is our second time staying at Dave’s place, we have been planning a wedding upstate while living on Long Island. Stay at Dave’s house has made the planning process so much easier, knowing that we have a little home away from home to relax and plan in. We have brought family and friends with us, and we all absolutely adore the house. It is incredibly massive, and it comes well furnished with plenty of beds for guests. It is also located very close to town, making it easy to get to dinner or go out to grab drinks. The off street parking also makes it very easy to get a spot, as well as unload any heavy bags into the house if needed. Everything in the house has been well-preserved, and the touches and finishing are gorgeous. We can’t say enough about the house and how communicative Dave has been throughout our stays. Dave responds quickly to any questions, and is very prompt to send directions and recommendations. Can’t wait to stay at the house in the future!

  • Beautifully maintained historic home in the heart of Oneonta. Spacious and gracious. Whatever you do, stay here! Unforgettable.

    Mark2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of old house charm - except everything works! Walking distance to Main St and restaurants and pubs. House is very comfortable, we and kids all had very comfortable beds. Would definitely stay there again when we visit Oneonta/Cooperstown.

  • Dave’s place is gigantic, and very beautiful! The house has a lot of nice old touches, plenty of bedrooms, huge living spaces, and all the supplies you could need for a stay. Dave was also very responsive and very accommodating to any needs. I’d definitely recommend this place for anyone thinking of staying, and I’ll certainly be back if I find myself passing through Oneonta!

    Mariam2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great. Just me, my wife & daughter, so we didn’t really reap the benefit of staying in such a huge house, but it was still a decent deal compared to alternatives. It’s not recently renovated, but that didn’t bother us, it’s a lovely old house, kept well, in a nice neighborhood of similar homes, within an easy walk to the Main Street in town. Would definitely rent again. Great communication & easy check in/out.

    John2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Dave was nothing but amazing. This was my second time staying at the Inn on Elm with friends and it just gets better each time. Welcome to your cozy minimalist home away from home! 25 minutes from Cooperstown Dream Park and 10 minutes from the All Star Village, our home has been recently renovated with an all new kitchen and half bathroom downstairs. The upstairs features a laundry room with full-sized washer and dryer, master bedroom with a queen bed, second bedroom with a full bed, and a third bedroom with a crib and toddler bed. An air mattress is also available for setting up in the ample living space downstairs.
Enjoy downtime on our front porch, family room with cozy sectional, or the living room with the fireplace. Spin a record on the vintage record player in the dining room, or grab a board game from our home office. Grill in the backyard, or you’re a few blocks from downtown Oneonta’s restaurants, and only one block from the best subs and craft beer in town at the Hometown Deli.
Our neighbor hood is a very quiet residential area. We’re only a block away from the best sub sandwiches and craft beers in town at the Hometown Deli, and they also sell most items you’d find at a convenience store. A few blocks further to Main Street, we highly recommend Nina’s pizza (especially if you need gluten-free options!). The Autumn Cafe and Hill City Grill are our favorites for a nice dinner. The Latte Lounge is everyone’s favorite place to hang out with a tea or coffee or take next door to the Green Toad bookstore. Simply Thai is simply amazing, and The Yellow Deli is a must eat - perfect brunch or lunch spot with a beautiful interior and incredible food.

Super clean and charming.

  • My husband and I had an amazing experience with Emily and had a great stay at her inn! We were initially going to stay for the weekend two weeks prior but there was a great winter storm going through Cooperstown, and Emily was very nice in allowing us to postpone our weekend getaway for two weeks! She had no issues whatsoever! Her inn was wonderful, beautifully decorated, every detail thought of, and the room was extremely comfortable! Highly recommend everyone to stay at her inn whenever possible! Thank you Emily!

  • We had a great stay at the Inn! It couldnt be any more convenient to Red Shed Brewery and is right down the road from Ommegang. The Inn is clean, well appointed and cozy. Would definitely recommend.

Cabin Clack is a cozy, stream-side retreat bordering 1000 acres of wild trails in host-maintained Clapper Hollow State Forest. The area is perfect for all kinds of outdoor activities and also offers plentiful organic farm stands in growing season. The cabin is good for a couple, solo adventurers, or families (with kids). We welcome pets, and they will love exploring the countryside and the freedom of our virtually traffic-free dead-end road.
The space is a 1-room cabin with queen bed, kitchenette with microwave, electric stove and mini fridge. Vintage free-standing tub and Vermont Castings wood-burning stove. The back porch overlooks a lively little stream and a hibachi if you feel like grilling. There is a free standing outdoor fire pit with plenty of firewood to make a campfire at night. A great place for star gazing.
  • Another year, another incredible weekend at the cabin. We’ve been coming to this magical place for three years now, and every time it is always the perfect escape from the city. Tom & Clara are the most incredible hosts. They always set up the fireplace before we arrive so it is nice and toasty and we love tea time with them. The hiking trails around the cabin are perfect, and pancakes at the farm is a must do! We can’t wait to return!

    Ashley2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin and property are gorgeous, and the hosts lovely. We had absolute privacy and the opportunity to explore the forest on snowshoe, with a glowing fire to come home to. A great experience.

    Matthew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is our only recurring Airbnb ever, and that's because it's just so amazing. If you're looking for a quiet getaway emersed in nature look no further. A true gem.

    Clay2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second visit to the Cabin, so I already knew I was in for a treat. I stayed last time in the fall and thought it couldn’t get better, but a fresh snow made the place truly magical. My dog loved being off-leash the whole weekend - so much so that she wouldn’t get in the car when it was time to go! Hikes in the woods with the Cabin’s snowshoes and poles were beautiful. The wood stove kept us plenty warm even when the night dipping close to zero. Tom and Clara were great throughout my stay - offering me tips for arriving in a storm and a lovely tea when I arrived. If you’re at all tempted, book this! You won’t regret it!

    Kimberly2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t have asked for a better place to get away for the weekend. Tom and Clara were phenomenal! They were available whenever we needed and made us feel like family when they welcomed us into their home to have tea with them. They even gave us a jump start on our car when our battery died. The cabin is beautiful and off the grid, you are secluded and have acres and acres to explore with a creek that goes right through to the back of the cabin. Our 2 dogs and ourselves enjoyed every minute and can’t wait to return to do some more hiking when there’s less snow and to have more tea with Tom and Clara. ☺️

    Joshua2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a gem! Exactly as pictured and described, it is off a dead end road, with no visible houses from the windows of the cabin, which makes it feel so secluded and private because IT IS secluded and private. It is a separate little property located across the street from the hosts, so you really feel like it's yours during your stay. A little creek can be heard flowing along to sing you to sleep and there are trails to be hiked right out the door, no need to even drive to a trailhead. The woodstove was well stocked with everything we needed to keep it going through our stay and there were snowshoes provided for us to borrow for some hiking in the snowy forest. Absolutely stunning National Forests surround the cabin, we hiked for hours and didn't see a single other person or house. There is one main bed (full size) in the main room, then there are a couple mattresses up in the loft accessed by a ladder. Perfect for a family with kids old enough to climb ladders. Tub is in the main area, which was so romantic. Wouldn't suggest this place for people who don't want to bathe in front of each other though. The water is very sulfury, which was great for baths. The hosts provide water from their spring for drinking, which was deliciously pure and non-sulfury. The location was easy to find and Tom and Clara were very kind and quick to respond. We will definitely be back in the spring/summer to see what this little slice of heaven looks like when it's all green; but the snowy paradise is well worth the visit to anyone who loves the outdoors and wants some solitude.

    Anna & Ben2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Clara and Tom are the best and this cabin is a slice of heaven! We loved everything: the door knob, the windows, the floor boards, the stove (even the stove manual is cute!), the porch, the backyard snowshoeing and sledding and especially afternoon tea with Clara and Tom! We felt part of the family and were even helped by out by a neighbor which was really sweet. Plus it was a beautiful drive to Plattekill for some mellow skiing. On the way home we talked about how we could live there forever. . .

    Robin2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful single room cabin situated near a river, Tom and Clara truly care about their property and area and were some of the best hosts I've stayed with. Who can say no to a woodstove, beautiful trails, and welcoming gracious hosts? Even though the cabin is small, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. My partner and I were able to cook all of our meals, play games, and relax without feeling cramped in the space. I would definitely go back, and would recommend to anyone looking for a getaway.

It is a private, quiet neighborhood on a one way street between West and Church Street. Please enter from West.
  • This is a great house to stay in. Everything you need is here. It’s very clean and updated kitchen and bathrooms are nice! Just throw a suitcase in the car and go! Towels, sheets, blankets, AC, large washer dryer, paper products, full kitchen - it’s all there! We stayed for a Baseball tournament and for two families it was ideal. We all had our space, a large tv in the family room kept us entertained. The outdoor seating area was delightful. We walked to town daily and enjoyed great food at some wonderful restaurants. You are a 5 minute drive to All Star Village. Dave stopped by to say hi -and give us some local recommendations-which was appreciated. Most importantly Dave retrieved jewelry that was accidentally left behind and was able to get it back to my home in VA!! Talk about Above and Beyond service!! You won’t be disappointed staying at this home! Dave has other properties in the surrounding neighborhood, if you are traveling as a team - grab any of his homes!! You can’t go wrong with Dave’s properties!! We hope you enjoy Oneonta as much as we did!

  • Great house and perfect location if you are headed to All-Star Village a few times per day for a week. I have a couple things I look for when looking for a house...is it clean and are the beds comfortable? This house had both! The beds are so amazing, I am trying to find the same mattress for my own home! It is very spacious and good for two to three families to share the house. The king and two queen rooms are great rooms for parents and the two full size beds are nice for any kids. If I was going back to CASV, I would stay here again!

    Casey2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Dave’s place. Great location, near by to restaurants and stores. The street was really peaceful and quiet.

  • House is older but very cute and functional for an older home. Kitchen and dining room were spacious. TV and internet were great quality. Had pretty much everything you needed. Also looks like they just added high capacity washer/dryer which came in quite handy and a Keurig machine. They didn’t have a blender but they do now as we left the one we bought as a thank you gift. Communication was awesome and they took care of any needs quickly. Great trip.

  • Dana was an amazing host! She was so friendly and super responsive (within minutes). Her house is not only beautiful and very private but is also extremely clean. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. We loved the electric fireplace. This cabin is tucked away and far from the Main Street. Therefore very private, quiet and quaint. The grounds are beautifully kept and the appliances and interior were all new! We had a lovely time and highly recommend staying at this location. Thank you Dana!

  • We had a wonderful time staying here while our son played at Cooperstown. We enjoyed our coffee in complete peace and serenity in the mornings in the anti-gravity chairs on the patio. It is about a 30 minute drive with the windy roads throughout the mountains, but we just planned accordingly and enjoyed the scenery on the way! Dana added wonderful finishing touches throughout the house and the home was sparkling clean! Thank you!!

    Ashley2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent and Exactly as advertised. Dana was helpful, accurate, quick responding. Property super clean. Kinda in the sticks but we knew that going in and again it’s exactly as advertised and what we were looking for. If you are booking for Cooperstown All-Star Village my advice is bring what you will need for the full day of baseball as it’s a 30min drive. We would absolutely book this location again and I would recommend it to friends &family

  • We stayed here while my son played baseball at Cooperstown Dreams Park. It was about a 20 minute drive to get there and was a great place for a peaceful respite after a long day of baseball. Trish’s place is a wonderful escape located in a very quiet and remote location. It is about a 15-20 minute drive from lots of interesting attractions. The bed was extremely comfortable and the downstairs bathroom was incredible. Trish is very accommodating and has good recommendations about the area. I would stay here again if I am back in the area.

Our decor is an Adirondack theme. Log bed, knotty pine. ceiling lighting and windows for natural brightness. Quiet, warm, relaxing. A large pond to enjoy, sitting by with a good book or watching the wildlife. We are a short distance from many attractions in Cooperstown including the Baseball Hall of Fame!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Quiet, quaint, and very country.
Our area is very quiet and country. Wildlife may wander through the property from time to time. We have a very quaint cafe downtown with homemade food and baked goods.

  • This home makes a wonderful getaway if you are looking for a quiet country experience, yet want to be within a short driving distance to all Cooperstown amenities. Hosts Denise and Omar were fantastic and even met us directly to welcome us to their property. A great experience all around!

  • Denise's place was fabulous! It is such a cute place with amazing touches. 100% recommend!

    Hannah2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Denise greeted us upon arrival and took us for a little tour around the house and property. During our stay she made sure that we were comfortable. The house was thoughtfully decorated and that's why it's called "Country Haven". Cell Service was a little sketchy but we didnt mind. It made us enjoy nature and being away from the city. The view every morning was beautiful. Definately a great place to get away.

    Johnna2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Denise welcomed us as soon as we drove in with a friendly smile. She told us about the history of the house and showed us around. She had great tips for shortcuts to Cooperstown and places to go. The house itself is wonderful. Everything is shiny and clean and the decor is truly an Adirondack experience. The yard is well maintained, private and has more than enough outdoor seating. The place is just peaceful and happy. The kitchen had all we the equipment that we needed for breakfast and a grilled dinner. Denise is thoughtful enough to leave coffee, sugar and creamer with both a Keurig and small Mr. Coffee (pods and filters provided). It's the little things that matter and Denise has thought of them all. We had a wonderful time and recommend this house for anyone who is looking for peace and quiet as well as fun adventures in the area. We kayaked on the Susquehanna, took in an opera at Glimmerglass and rode 30 miles on our bikes along the Eerie canal on our way home to Connecticut.

  • A gem away from the hustle and bustle. We traveled to New York from Washington State to visit Cooperstown. We arrived early and Denise had absolutely no problem letting us check in. She was there with a smile to greet us. From there the rest of the stay was amazing! Country Haven was very clean, comfortable and inviting. Everything was exactly how it was listed on the description page, and then more. Perfect! Thanks again!!

The rolling terrain of NW Catskills, 1500' to 2300'. Summer nights, refreshingly cool. Upper slopes, hardwood forests; some softwood 'plantations' at lower elevations. Dairy farming on lower slopes; some farmland disused, some organic dairies, some vegetable farms, a number of chicken-and-egg farms, grass-fed beef farms. Properties, forests, fields and homes are owned by families that have been here for generations and by 'urban refugees' who come for peace and beauty of the landscape while still being 160 miles from metro New York. Great fresh-food shopping because of these farms. A rich array of cultural events - fairs, festivals, exhibitions, concerts, theatre - each weekend.
  • It’s a fantastic cabin and was just what I was looking for. Richard is a kind and thoughtful host. Highly recommend.

    Zachary2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderfully private and great for those looking to unwind and unplug for a few days. The grounds were covered in yellow leafed trees that made you feel like you were in the middle of nowhere. In reality, you were within yelling distance of the main cabin and an easy walk to neighbors. The cabin isn't insulated but is tightly sealed and holds in the heat of the fire really well. Our dog loved being able to run free on the large piece of property! Richard warned us to be cautious since there are coyotes running around so we kept our pup close and didn't have any issues. Richard provided some thoughtful touches that made our weekend more fun. He left a few buckets full of wood and kindling which made starting a fire super easy. He also provided lots of warm blankets, pots, pans, bowls, plates, silverware, soap, sponges among other things. There is no running water or electricity but Richard provided plenty of water and a battery powered light. We loved our few days at Richard's tiny cabin and will happily come again!

    Stephanie2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Maybe, like me, you've forgotten what it feels like to exist in silence, to sleep in the soft cocoon of a forest, to awake to the sunrise, to take in the colors and sounds of nature. My partner and I found this cabin to be a deeply healing place to shake off the distractions and buzz of the city. It's simple living, but ultimately satisfying. Richard couldn't be a more pleasant host.

    Lindsay2019-10-21T00:00:00Z

  • Our Volkswagen bus tumbled towards the drive-way of Richard's about mid-sundown. Though, as to not forget tribute, we swayed abound by the dirt roads in awe. The land is so surreal; hence, no amount of fore palm rubbing against your brow couldn't retract it. Like the elegant brushes, in nature's arsenal, were the finest used from its box. Despite writing so passionately about this location, it is something best experienced by one's self. All the amenities were present on our arrival, and the greetings of the cabin were in order. Surrounded by the call of owls, coyotes, and bullfrogs, helped aid past sleepless anxieties. We adored every trek to and from the quaint space. Richard's hospitality and pastries are decadent like the stars above his head every night. This is one place that someone shouldn't hesitate to experience.

  • Our time at Richard’s cabin was just what we needed. We enjoyed the peace of the forest, cooking over the fire at night, and listening to the sounds of owls, coyotes, crickets, woodpeckers and more throughout our stay. And Richard is an incredible host. Communication was excellent and we were warmed by his hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Shadow is a serene container-cabin set on a stunning hilltop where four fields converge at the end of a long driveway. Experience panoramic views, natural tranquility and easy access to the best of what the area has to offer. To note: the hay on the fields surrounding Shadow is mown and collected by a local organic dairy farm about 3 times a year. By offering free hay to this family I am helping to promote sustainable agriculture in my area. Apologies if mowing occurs during your stay.
Shadow is a small (8x40) minimalist shipping container cabin perfect for a Catskill getaway for two! Picnic and BBQ outside, take long walks in the surrounding woods and fields, or watch the weather roll in from your hammock on the deck. The space sleeps two, and has an open floorplan where kitchen and bedroom are bisected by the bathroom. The kitchen is generous and countertops are maple chopping block which may be used for cutting. Both ends of Shadow have large glass doors, making the space light and airy with access to the outdoors immediate. Enter through the front end of the container into a sitting area with two chairs and a coffee table. Then pass through the kitchen and continue down the hallway, to the right is the bathroom. Next is the bedroom, equipped with a full-sized bed and a small writing desk where you can take in the field and woods beyond. The most wonderful feature of Shadow are the spectacular views. Sliding glass doors on either end of the container open to provide constant access to the outdoors and a soothing breeze. Floors throughout are wood. Walls are white. Décor is decidedly minimal and unfussy. Please note that Shadow is located at the end of a very long dirt driveway, in a field. It is rural and rustic with the luxuries of running water (hot/cold), complete bathroom, heat and a full kitchen. Shadow is my guest-house and sits a few hundred feet from my house but is situated to maximize privacy. I live on the property full-time and am available should you need anything however the space and surrounding fields are yours to enjoy in peace and tranquility.
Shadow straddles a stone-wall and sits amongst fields. It is very tranquil and beautiful.
  • This place is super amazing and Shawnee is a wonderful host! I’ll definitely be staying again in the future.

  • Amazing space, great location. The perfect weekend escape

    Tyler2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Shadow is such a great escape. It suited us perfectly for a get away from the city. The scenery was gorgeous, the container is beautifully styled and comfortable, and there was lots to do and see in the area. While we enjoyed our adventures, we would have been just as happy lazing about the container, and one of our favorite afternoons was just spent reading in the hammocks and then listening to the storms roll in from the bed. We slept with the screen doors open every night to enjoy the sound of the country. Just enough wifi and cell service to get around, not enough to feel fully plugged in to the hustle. Book your stay asap and return home relax and rejuvenated.

  • Perfect GET AWAY. The view is spectacular from the hammocks and the interior of the shipping container home is styled for comfort and beauty.

  • Shawnee’s place is amazing. If you love the outdoors and want some privacy in a beautiful location you’ll enjoy his place.

  • Just....wow! This place is amazing. If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, out-of-the-way place to be connected with nature, this is it. This is the best of both worlds--you have niceties and modern conveniences, but are so close to nature. I'm a city girl and was stunned by how incredibly quiet it was. I loved watching the many deer running across the back field, leaping over the stone wall. What a nice getaway.

My place is close to Skiing, Cooperstown and Howes Caverns. You’ll love my place because of the coziness and charm. There is a wood burning stove in the cabin for the winter months and a firepit in the back patio for the summer months to enjoy. My place is good for couples, families (with kids), and big groups. There is 30 acres of fields and woods to enjoy. Close to hiking, biking, snowmobiling and 4 wheeling!
It's a log cabin, it has a great room that makes it extra cozy. The loft overlooks the great room. The loft is the entertainment center, there is a TV with access to DirecTV , wi-fi and high speed Internet.
If you want serenity, this is the place. If you want activity, this is the place. We are close to so many places and far away enough for a peaceful rest.
  • What a beautiful cabin! We felt so welcomed. Marlene went out of her way to let us know about the impending snowfall and plowed the driveway for us. She was very responsive and kind. The cabin is large and surrounded by gorgeous trees. 10/10 would recommend for a sweet woodsy getaway.

  • My fiance and I (30s NYC) were looking for an isolated place for a weekend getaway with our dog. We wanted a lot of space for our dog to run around. Marlene's place exceeded expectations in every way. Amazing value as well. Everything was very clean and the check-in/out was seamless. The kitchen has some antique appliances which were very neat, and there was a good amount of information (leaflets) about the surrounding area that was placed on the main coffee table. We can't wait to go back by ourselves or with friends.

  • What an incredible experience at Crow's Nest Cabin. First off, Marlene was very quick to respond to my questions. Our stay was comfortable. The pictures do not do this place justice! We were blown away. Although it is far, this is exactly what we were looking for. The quiet is so different from that of the city, and it was just the thing we needed to unwind and refresh. Everything we needed was there. We were able to do tons of cooking. Although the wifi was not very strong and there was practically no service, it was perfect because we played games, talked all night and just disconnected from the rest of the world. 10/10 would stay here again! Also got engaged during my stay on New Year's, so it will be in my memories forever. Thanks Marlene!

  • The Crow’s Nest is the perfect location to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet. As described, the cabin is tucked away on a remote piece of property, far away from the hustle and bustle (can be a bit difficult to find, especially in the winter weather, so I’d recommend a car with 4-wheel drive). The space itself is clean, warm, and inviting. We had plenty of space for 4 adults, 2 children, 3 dogs, and all of our Christmas presents, decor, etc. Marlene is quick to respond via the app and Jim (a neighbor) is only a phone call away. If you’re looking to get away and relax, I’d highly recommend the Crow’s Nest!

  • we absolutely loved our stay here! perfectly placed on a stunning property. it is a little tricky to find the driveway if you’re arriving at night so try to arrive during daylight hours if you can! beds were very comfortable and loved the rustic touches. we fell in love with the kitchen and the antique appliances. the stove is fairly simple to use but we called the property manager to make sure we did it properly. we used the porch almost every morning and it was a nice and quiet escape from nyc. such a cozy space and we loved being here for a few days!

  • Pictures do not do this place justice! The property exceeded our expectations and the space was absolutely breathtaking. The house was stocked with everything you could possibly need. Thank you!
