Holiday rentals with lake access in Schoolcraft County

Dear FVR team, Thanks for hosting us ! We enjoyed our stay. I must say your team is exceptionally good in maintaining the property and providing amenities. We felt at home with everything we need was avaialble readily. I also thank you for providing coffee and generous amount of toiletteries. Especially when we forgot the well packed bag at home, this came in super handy avoiding a rush trip to a store. Much appreciate it. We would love to come back again for our vacation next year to one of your properties. I would love to post a detailed review once back home. I had an incredible stay at this beautiful house near the lake! The location is absolutely stunning, nestled right in the middle of nature, providing a sense of peace and tranquility that far exceeded my expectations. The photos on Airbnb don't do justice to how calm and beautiful this place truly is. The host (spencer) was exceptionally helpful and responsive, ensuring that everything was in perfect order for our stay. We faced no issues at all, and every little detail was taken care of, making our experience completely stress-free. If you're looking for a serene getaway, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

We only stayed for a night between destinations… but it was wonderful! Super clean, cute decor, and great location on the river. Amy was very communicative and helpful. Very prompt responses and gave local recommendations when asked.

We have waited for this house to come available for almost 30 years and it did not disappoint!!! Sarah and Bob are amazing to work with and the house is a hidden gem deep in the woods. The house has everything you need for a long stay. The Wi-Fi is high speed and the smart Tv is easy to work with. The views are picturesque and endless. It is close to a ton of riding trails and the thunderbowl. There is 35 lakes within 20 miles of this house and the best fishing river for browns and brook trout just down the road a mile. This is a must stay for the area!!!

Loved the stay! Neighborhood was nice and peaceful. neighbors were friendly and sociable. Within minutes of arriving we walked around the neighborhood and enjoyed viewing the shrine. The fishing was great, we caught tons of perch, walleye, and some northerns. Caitlin was extremely great to communicate with. All the details she provided to every question was very much appreciated.

We very much appreciated the property with the beach, the fire pit with supplied wood, and kayaks/paddleboard.

This cabin took us back in time to childhood cabin stays. We enjoyed the deck time. We had everything we needed to make our meals we brought. There was a nice counter top ice machine and outdoor grill to use. We didn't make use of the small boat but it was a nice option should we have wanted to fish during our stay.

When we arrived we were so pleased with the space! It was beautiful and the quality of the home was apparent. The views were spectacular. The area was quite private and secluded; just what we were looking for. The space was perfectly sized and appointed for our group. We were disappointed by the following things, which we shared with the owner bc we couldn’t tell if it was a disrespectful guest, or things that had been overlooked by a cleaner. We discovered a broken plate placed carefully under the other dishes; coffee grinds and water in the coffee maker; and a multitude of dirty dishes, including pans, bowls, glasses, silverware, and plates. Again, this is not necessarily the owners fault, but for the cost, we wanted to be sure they knew how we found things bc we didn’t expect to have to wash all of our dishes before using them! We were careful to follow all checkout rules and leave the space neat and tidy. Can’t beat the beautiful sunsets and views.

We stayed here for a family snowmobile weekend in February and it was exactly what we wanted. Very nice place right on the lake and close to the snowmobile trail. Close to Midway General Store and a short drive to Kitchitikipi and Munising. Loved the Knotty Pine and Up North feel of the cabin. Jacqueline was very responsive and left detailed directions and recommendations. Would highly recommend.

The pictures don't do the cabin justice. This was more than we expected!!!! We slept like babies in the comfortable beds, took a nap in the breeze on day bed, relaxed on the porch and watched an eagle!! It's true you do have your own little peace of beauty as you enjoy a campfire- so peaceful. The pontoon was great, although we didn't catch any keeper's we sure did have fun trying. We really enjoyed our stay!!! Thank You

Amazing getaway! Beautiful sunrises on the lake, with a nice beach to walk. Just be aware of the time of your stay. We stayed in late may and the midges (flys) were rly bad. Made it almost impossible to be outside for too long, ofc had we done research we would have known end of may is the worse time for them. Other than that everything was perfect!

This home is absolutely beautiful, and has a lot of amenities right there for you. 3 families were on this vacation 6 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of room and activities to do for all of us. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, pots pans and even spices. We always bring our own but it was an added bonus, some BNBs are flvery frugal. There was even a washer and dryer available which was so nice to use. Overall this place was a absolutely beautiful and we would stay again, maybe a little further in the summer to get in the lake more, the shallow waters and tide pools were amazing to walk in and explore. We saw so many tadpoles and even found a salamander. Our vacation was so lovely. This place is full of amenities, space to hang out and tons of property to explore.

We can’t recommend Nicholas’s place highly enough! Other than bugs—which are just part of the UP experience—everything was FANTASTIC! (And they had a can of complimentary Deep Woods Off, for which we cannot thank them enough.) We spent time in kayaks every day, enjoyed the complimentary treats, slept well in the comfy beds, and wished we managed to keep our own home so spotless! The house is very convenient to Pictured Rocks, Kitch-iti-Kipi, and other attractions as well.

Right on the water and beautiful setting ♥️ perfect place for R&R

We stayed in Keith's place from 09/28 to 10/05 2024. That was our third happy return to Ostrander Lake Oasis. The house is very welcoming and well maintained. Everything is in a very good condition and views are amazing. We had great time on a property. The weather was very warm so we had some fun on a lake riding paddle bike and kayak. In the evening we sat around fire making s'mores ,telling stories and do some stargazing . In a cabin we played games (there are lots of them there) . So it is always lots to do on a property, and It is close to Munising, Sand Point (another beautiful beach) and Pictured Rocks - about 30 minutes of driving, which is very convenient. We stayed in different places in UP before we finally found Keith's property, and now we stopped looking . We found everything we need for great vacation : clean, well equipped and welcoming house, beautiful views, friendly hosts that are always very easy to reach. Thank you Keith and Patricia!
