We have an enhanced cleaning policy to ensure guest safety and peace of mind in the midst of uncertain times that includes: A top notch HEPA filter, spraying or wiping disinfectant on all surfaces and washing laundry with hot water and bleach. This is an eclectic and imaginative one bedroom cottage sanctuary with a front porch swing for watching east Austin mosey on by. Joyous comfort is to be had in the main bedroom with custom cathedral ceiling and tempurpedic bed. The bathroom features a walk in shower with custom tile and a clawfoot tub for all of your bathing dreams. There is an additional sleeping loft should you have a friend or two who would like to accompany you. City of Austin Operating License # 096563 This lot features a front house (all yours) and a back house that we stay at when we are in Austin. Please make yourself at home on the front and side porches but we ask that you give some privacy to the back yard immediately surrounding the back house. Thank you! I travel often but regularly stay in the back house on the property. I love getting to know guests and if our paths cross I look forward to talking with you. Central East Austin is a diverse and dynamic neighborhood that is just a few minutes from downtown and yet still quiet. In addition to offering of some of Austin's best restaurants and music venues, it also has important history to explore. In the last century, highway 35 was a tool of segregation, with east (of 35) Austin providing a rich community for African Americans. See how this history lives on through a plethora of old and new businesses is this burgeoning neighborhood! There is a parking spot that you are welcome to use directly in front of the house and there is also plenty of street parking with no permitting or street cleaning concerns. The closest B-Cycle station is a 15 minute walk away at Victory Grill on 11th St. Many of the 6th St restaurants and bars are a 10 minute walk as well. If you would prefer not to walk, there are a selection of ride share services such as RideAustin (our favorite), Lyft, or Uber. The street has two names, Hamilton Ave and Richard Overton Ave. Depending on your map source you may see either one pop up. Richard Overton is the oldest living American and American World War II veteran at 112 years of age. He lives down the block where be bought a house after the war ended.

The living room includes a comfortable futon couch that converts to a double bed, 42" Smart TV with cable, extra seating, and books and games for entertainment. Sleep like a baby in the master bedroom on a luxurious queen memory foam bed, with 32" Smart TV, large closet, side lamps with USB ports and access to the backyard. The smaller, second bedroom includes a day bed with trundle - great for kids!- as well as a desk with comfortable chair to use as a workspace. The gorgeous bathroom includes a large soaking tub with moveable shower handle, plush towels and bathrobes and hair dryer! Guests have full use of the home and it's amenities. Text or Call hosts at anyt The house is set two blocks from Henderson Avenue and Lower Greenville, which boast some of Dallas' hottest bars and restaurant. Take a stroll to Velvet Taco for Mexican fare, then head to Candleroom to dance the night away. Uber & Lyft are the most convenient way to get around town without your own transportation. There are LIME BIKES parked all over the city that you can rent via app for $1/hour. There are also 3 DART stops within 5 minutes walk- all off Henderson- that will take you into downtown or can link you to a rail station nearby to get to your destination. There is a keypad entry on the front door so no need to keep track of a set of keys. The home has an alarm system for additional piece of mind and if you're comfortable using it, we can supply a personal code to use during your stay. Also, Monday is our trash and recycle day. Someone will come by (outside only) to take to curb early that morning.
