Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Skamania County

This spot is PERFECT for exploring Hood River. There is a great bakery for a morning start two blocks away, an amazing playground a ten minute walk away and all of the main city attractions (restaurants and such) are a 15 minute walk away. It is in a quiet neighborhood and you get a view of both Mt Hood and Mt Adams walking around the neighborhood. The house itself is warm and classic. The kids toys, books, and room with a TV was great for families. The host was extremely accommodating and responsive. Couldn't recommend the spot more highly, it was the perfect stay!

Lovely property for a relaxing boys weekend. Secluded yet not too far out of town. Very clean & tidy; nice amenities and comfy beds! Great access to nice roads for running. Michelle was always responsive host; proactive and easy to communicate with!

Such a sweet place!! Above and beyond beautiful and amazing! The bridal party absolutely loved it and didn’t want to leave. So many nice touches, including mini chocolate bars placed here and there. Lots of room, conveniently located, beautiful outdoor spaces, cozy and comfy beds, beautifully decorated…I want to go back to Hood River just to stay there! Thank you!

The house was perfect for three generations. The grandparents had a first floorbedroom room and the parents and two children had the upstairs. This is a beautiful home removated with taste. We all enjoyed the neighborhood and took walks around the treelined streets. This location is charming. Maury is easy to reach and responds quickly. I would stay in this lovely house anytime I returned to beautiful Hood River.

This home is one of my top places I have stayed in on Airbnb. I walked into that home and out to the back door absolutely breathtaking views. This home is 3 adventures in one. 1st the deck BBQ, fire pit and Hot tub(wood is provided). 2nd the yard below the home, has a huge open grass area with a big fire pit, close to the river. 3rd the river great spot for chairs and family private. Very lucky it was hot outside, we got to go swimming 3 times. The house was super clean 5 stars. This home had all the things and more needed to cook in the kitchen mama was stocked up. Book this home and enjoy being unplugged from the world, I flet like I was at grown up camp. Thank you for the treats and birthday candle 🕯 💕

Beautiful place, clean, modern, functional. We enjoyed a walk around the surrounding rural roads and the views of the mountains. Would stay there again!

We loved our stay here! We were traveling through and were only able to stay one night at this location, but it was a great place to relax and unwind for the night. It was clean, comfortable and in a great quiet neighborhood. We had everything we needed. The owner was easy to communicate with and responded to my questions quickly. I would love to stay again sometime.

I booked this place for a girls trip for 9 women in their mid-30s. We had a great stay. The view of Mount Hood is gorgeous. House was clean and spacious. Hot tub worked great. I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Chris’ place very much. We were getting there late at night, and Chris made everything simple and easy for us to check in. The place was clean, private, and very comfortable. The property is beautiful; just a short walk to the lawn area, and we enjoyed stunning views of the river. When we reached out to Chris for an item during our stay, he was quick to respond and very accommodating. He is a great host, and we highly recommend this place.

Cannot say enough about the wonderful experience we had staying at Rivers Retreat. It truly is a magical place right next to the Washougal River where you are surrounded by nature and can hear the peaceful river below. The hosts are more than helpful and we were grateful for their recommendations. We enjoyed watching the bald eagles and relaxing by the bonfire. The indoor space was very well kept and full of amenities. We will definitely return for another stay if ever in the area.

The view is phenomenal. It's very peaceful and beautiful there. There is a adjoining door between apts for larger family/group stays and you can hear the conversations of the guests staying on the other side when they're are in their living room area, but otherwise very peaceful setting. The furniture wasn't super comfy, but not bad either. Just so-so on comfort. If you're like most people visiting the area, there's so much to explore between wineries and little riverside towns, hiking, kayaking and kite surfing, you won't be lounging on the couch or in bed all day hopefully, but out enjoying the best of the NW! We are former pet owners and I thought the bedding and towels had a dog smell to them, but I have a sensitive nose. My husband didn't notice it. Great price, great stay. We'd come back and definitely stay here again. Beautiful setting for a wedding-which they do host on the lower level of the barn (but not when guests are staying above - unless it's the wedding party).

This was an excellent place for us to stay. It was close to town, nice and quiet and had a lovely backyard. The suite is much nicer than what the photos depict, and the price is right. We would definitely stay here again.

Just a short mile from town, nice view out front sliding door of the river. Clean space, Christine and Martin were very friendly and have lots of knowledge about Columbia the Gorge.area.

This studio apartment is right on the perfect location to explore downtown Hood River. It's a 5 minute walk to all the breweries, restaurants, coffeee shops, riverwalk etc. The space had everything we needed to be comfortable, including coin laundry and kitchen basics (2 burner hotplate stove, toaster oven, fridge, freezer) if you need.

Super cute house. Wish the fence on the sides closed. Lots of cookware that was in good condition. Comfortable beds and nice separation between bedrooms

Comfortable space and great location. Had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Trundle bed and queen in only bedroom could be an issue for some people but it was fine for 3 women. Would definitely book again.

Great place to stay right near downtown!

This location is the perfect spot for walkability to all downtown Hood River offers! Cute and smartly decorated with all your needs available. Loved the back covered patio too. Perfect spot for morning coffee! It was great having the two bathrooms so two people can get ready at once. Generous sized bedroom and two tvs also! Fast internet if you need to get some work done. The dining table was great size because you could easily seat 4 people or pull it out to seat six OR dine on the covered patio! We will be back!

Great walkability to downtown Hood River. Overall fairly clean place. Provided whole bean coffee and grinder. Kitchen well stocked. Large bed comfortable, smaller twin bed very uncomfortable for an adult. My 4 year old was ok to sleep in it but the whole mattress dips in the center under adult weight. Something to keep in mind if using.

This apartment is a quick walk from downtown and has everything you could need. The host is responsive and friendly. We will stay here again when we come back to Hood River. The only problem we ran into was the bedroom is pretty bright. The AC unit has a super bright display that stays on all the time. The window coverings also let a lot of light through and the parking lot is brightly lit at night. We had to put up blankets on the windows and make a cover for the AC unit otherwise we wouldn’t have slept much. It really is a nice place to stay but you should be warned about that.

Lovely apartment right in the center of town! amenities are great and the kitchen has everything you need. Doppio coffee is right under the apartment which is awesome for breakfast. Tons of bars and restaurants nearby, would love to stay again next time we're in town!
