Holiday houses in Skerryvore

We wanted to spend some time kayaking in the Shawanaga Archipelago, and when we saw Kim's cottage available in Skerryvore, we knew it would make a great base for our kayaking adventure. The cottage's location on the water in a peaceful lagoon connected to Georgian Bay made for a perfect beginning and ending to each day's paddle. The cottage was very well equipped, included a lot of extra amenities, and provided a cozy place to stay each night. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck in the evening, eating supper at the picnic table, and even had a campfire one evening in the provided fire pit. Since our focus was exploring the Archipelago, we really appreciated Kim's direction on a few places that we would enjoy while out paddling. As it turned out, we did manage to get to The Hole in the Wall, and to the little waterfall well up the Shawanaga River. Thank you Kim for providing us with a comfortable place to stay, and enhancing our paddling experience with your local knowledge.

What a gem! This lovely cottage was everything we wanted. Private, clean and super cozy. The view from the deck steps away from the back porch was absolutely beautiful. Douglas was very friendly! His response time was very quick to any questions and he made sure we had everything we needed. His recommendations for around the area were super helpful too. Definitely recommend!

Charming, tidy cottage with spectacular sunset views and lots of space for a large family or group to spread out. We loved swimming off the dock and hanging out on the deck listening to music and watching the waves. The surrounding area is quiet, and the kitchen is well equipped. Communication with the host was responsive and friendly!

What a gem. This is a beautifully rustic spot in the woods for a gentle getaway on the water. There’s a bit of a scramble up a hill from the brand new dock (with amazing swimming and lovely afternoon sun!) to a sweet little cabin - everything you need for a comfier-than-camping holiday. There’s all the kitchen basics you need, and the wood stove makes it super cozy. The lake is quiet and the neighbours friendly. It’s a great spot for a lazy day in the dock, or a more adventurous day trip into Massasauga provincial park. Geoff was very responsive when the power went out and offered to come up to fix it right away. But we preferred to spend our last night in the warm glow of candlelight and wood stove. Highly recommend.

Both the location and the house itself are really special. We had trouble finding motivation to leave the house because of its warm atmosphere and great view of the lake! It’s worth mentioning there are a lot of things to do in the nearby areas. During our stay, we went to the Arrowhead and Killbear Provincial parks, as well as the Parry Sound shoreline trails, all places worth visiting. We loved our time there and we would definitely visit again, a great thank you to our lovely hosts!

I had a great stay with my family for the weekend. All the amenities such as the jacuzzi, board games, and canoes were a plus. We were a group of 10 plus 1 dog, and we all had a lovely time! The only thing I would note is that we got lots of black fly bites despite all the repellant we used but I guess that’s expected for this time of the year. Overall, Dave’s cottage was amazing and would love to come back again!

Our stay at Harris Lake was nothing short of wonderful. If you're looking for a serene escape surrounded by nature, this is the place. Forest views and a warm lake is always what we hope for when visiting Northern Ontario . We got that and so much more. The sound of loons calling in the distance and occasionally up close added to the tranquil atmosphere. The highlights of the trip were the serene canoe rides along with the nightly fires by the lake were simply magical. The cottage itself is a true haven. It was clean, airy, and bright. It had a welcoming ambience that was a home away from home. Mark and Sheila are exceptional hosts. They are friendly, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure our stay was perfect. Every aspect of the visit contributed to a very comfortable and memorable experience. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to unwind in nature

We had such a great time staying in the converted jet airstream with Jarret! Communication was always fast and he took the time to let us know everything that we need to know before we got there, including picking up mosquito repellent. Thank you for that! It was definitely needed for our trip! The accommodations was exactly what we were looking for and was a great price for something very different than what we’re normally used to on our weird and wonderful road trip. Everything inside was clean and well maintained because of the airstream’s tight fit, the inside decorations were perfect and it didn’t feel cluttered. Jarret let us know that it was OK to use the grounds to explore the screened-in gazebo and the sauna - a welcome break after driving around all day. It was a great way to disconnect a bit from city life and to try something new. Thank you so much for letting us stay!
