Cottage holiday rentals in Sooke

We were five, 60 something ladies who get together for hiking and fun. We stayed at Russell's Wilderness Lodge for three nights. The lodge was as described and very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with items that we needed to cook many great meals. We did have to make whipping cream by hand but figured it was a good workout for our arms as we took turns beating the cream. We enjoyed the hot tub after coming back from a hike. We had great sleeps in comfortable beds. It was very quiet and peaceful. We would stay there again.

The little cabin remains an absolute treasure. I first came here 17 years ago and it remains as wonderful as ever, impeccably cared for and very private. The view from the deck is breathtaking and the hammocks are a special treat!

Carol’s place was AMAZING! The kitchen had everything needed to make meals for dining in, which we did a lot of because THAT VIEW!! We didn’t want to leave, just wanted to sit and watch for marine life. We saw seals, dolphins, eagles, and a family of 6 sea otters playing. When the evening started to cool we moved our binoculars to the hot tub to continue enjoying the views and serenity. My family agreed the beds were comfy and we all slept well. If you are looking for a go go go vacay Pender Island is not your place. If you want easy hikes in gorgeous surroundings, peace that reaches your very core, and super friendly people I definitely recommend Pender Island! The didc golf course has discs for public use and was really fun! Driftwood shopping center has all you will need. We recommend Sea Star Winery and a stop at Bee Wild distillery for tastings. We HIGHLY recommend Carol’s place!

We found this cute Airbnb just up the road from where our son was getting married. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. It was perfect.

What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the quiet town and nature. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return again.

This Kinsol cottage is well worth the price, and is entirely private, unlike most Airbnb rentals in Vancouver Island, which are suites in someone’s house. It was clean and well designed. As an avid Airbnb booker I really appreciated that Liz had all the condiments and spices you would need for a trip away from home. The backyard is peaceful and we had no neighbours while we were there. We enjoyed the hot tub and the sound of the birds, we even had an owl land in the yard. The bedroom loft has steep stairs, which is noted in Liz’s description, you should go down them sideways (we were fine, but probably not suitable for elderly). The bed was firm yet very comfortable and the reclining loveseat had us falling asleep every night. One hour to Victoria, one hour to Nanaimo, 1 3/4 hour to Port Renfrew (if you take the Pacific Marine route be prepared for a very very windy road). Kinsol trestle was a 10 minute walk away and an amazing hike. Would I recommend Liz’s cottage, absolutely!!

Adorable little cottage in a gorgeous spot on Lake Cowichan with plenty of watercrafts and games to keep you busy for days.. perfect little place for my husband and son and I to stay while enjoying the Lake Cowichan bluegrass festival. Highly recommend!

Kathy’s cottage is located in a private and peaceful spot on the cove. It is our third visit! We enjoy cycling and walking on the Galloping Goose Trail and exploring the beaches along Route 14. The cottage is very clean and well appointed. Kathy is a gracious host responding promptly to our inquiries. We will be back.

This might be the first time I give 5 stars for an airbnb and it is absolutely well deserved. Julie and Johns place was beautiful, clean, quiet, and peaceful. The privacy and natural setting was well worth the price. The hosts were very thoughtful and had the placed stocked with all that you would need for a comfortable stay. The tall trees, sounds of birds, and animal sightings (eagles and deer) made it hard to want to leave! We truly loved our stay!

Richard and Rebecca's place was a peaceful oasis well off the main highway in Sooke. We loved seeing the chickens, deer and the cottontails. The place was impeccably clean and well designed.

Not only is this home luxurious and immaculate, it is a nourishing step back in time where everything is hand-made, lovingly curated, and generously shared. I can’t recommend this little cottage enough. And if you’re blessed enough to walk the gardens, well…delightful doesn’t even come close. I really recommend this stay for a family or anyone looking to slow down and savour a beautiful time.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! The apace was perfect for hosting a small gathering to celebrate our daughter’s university graduation. The outdoor garden was a beautiful setting. We will definitely come back again! Thank you for having us!

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful lake-side cottage. The place is right on the lake with amazing views. The interior is super cozy, with comfy couches and beds. It's one of those places where you immediately feel at home. Our hosts were incredibly responsive, kind, and helpful. We would love to come again!

Mark and his property were both amazing. The cottage itself was nestled away but still close to everything you would need. Mark was responsive and easy to communicate with during the entire stay. Will most definitely be back!

What a lovely spot to relax and enjoy nature. Combining the best nostalgic feel with clean and comfortable modern amenities and finishes. Can’t beat the scenery rain or shine.

This was one of my favourite airbnbs I’ve ever stayed! The photos do not do it justice. The cabin is beautiful and cozy. Our favourite part of this stay was the two border collies that followed us around we absolutely adored them. The skylight above the bed at night with the stars was unreal.

We had a wonderful time at Al’s cottage. Arguably the cleanest accommodation we have ever stayed at and we are quite picky! The light breakfast was a nice surprise and very appreciated. This place is so tastefully renovated and decorated. We had the pleasure of having a good conversation with our hosts in the yard where they have a beautiful vegetable garden. We even had a chicken visitor (belonged to the Neigbors) that my 5 year old grew quite fond of and had daily visits with. All in all, wonderful place, fully and tastefully stocked. Amazing host!

We spent part of our honeymoon here and enjoyed it a lot. Very peaceful, beautiful surroundings and nice and private. I would definitely recommend filling the fridge with snacks and food as most things close pretty early in the surrounding small towns but still a wonderful experience!

We found ourselves in town for a family service and Fiona was the utmost kind and supportive host we could have found. The space was absolutely perfect, spotless, serene, and comfortable. It was exactly as described and made a difficult trip much more easy, especially being by the beautiful ocean. We saw a ton of wildlife so the speed limits are absolutely necessary. Thank you Fiona, we will surely be back in the future.

We've stayed at Lynda's place a few times now, even trying another spot run by someone else in the same location, and end up coming back to Lynda's because it just can't compare! There is attention to detail, focus on making her place feel at home, and welcoming with the communication and local recommendations. Port Renfrew is such a beautiful place to visit, I highly recommend to anyone looking to stay for a beautiful and relaxing getaway.

We loved every minute of our stay. House was clean, comfy and cosy. Loved the outlook over the marina. Easy walk to eateries and shop. Highly recommend. Thanks for hosting us.

Cozy stay :) Jason gave us a heads up that the power in the town was out several hours before our arrival and provided us with updates every hour. He gave us the opportunity to change our plans if needed. We are happy we ended up deciding to still come because the power came back very shortly after arriving. The house heated back up quickly and we had a wonderful time going to some of the places Jason recommended.
